wait sonic adventure dx is the sonic adventure 1 for dreamcast and sonic adventure 2 battle is sonic adventure 2 for dreamcast 2?? wow while i was playing on gamecube i could of had it earlier than 2006????
Dreamcast was the best. I never got it connected to the internet though. Mine didn't come with the cable. I remember the hours I spent playing with that. Sadly it began to restart the system in the middle of the game until it never turned on again. I sended back to fix it but they never gave it back... This was in 2002...
It's a shame I got my Dreamcast after the demise... it came with an incredibly long phone cable too, just for that modem... and the PSO server was still around then, i think, but I had no idea... missed out on some fun there.
Nintendo helped SEGA, Now SEGA is here to return the favor by kicking the PS3's ass. Microsoft is backing the up with the 360, but this is only the beginning.
@MrSonicroks Terrible statement. You do realize Sega has PS3 exclusives, right? Why would they wanna sabotage a console that they publish games on? They also have multiplatform titles. That's the smart thing to do business wise, seeing as they are no longer making hardware. And they're doing a fine job at it.
Its shame the DC had a short life,I remember trying to buy a DC when it was just out,I was unable to,only choice i had was to order a import but decided not to as it was way overpriced by greedy sellers (not the actual MSRP) How things change,I traded in 30+ complete boxed library of N64 games & a boxed N64 & all sorts of extras, all I got for it all was a PS1 with NO games,,looking back what a rip! If only I knew that a PS1 would be worth shit in 2011 but boxed Nintendo games would fly in value!
@wewantdreamcast2 so you you the web browser on your Dreamcast still? can it really play youtube videos? i have a dreamcast and the web browser disc, but i don't have dial up. it here any way to hook my dreamcast up to the internet using high speed light ?
for the pc version of sonic adventure dx they should have added the internet feature and the vmu chao's could have been some kind of files that contains the chao infromation in it or for the gamecube version causes the gameboy to adapt like the vmu.
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the Sega Genesis had the Sega Channel, which was the first online connection for a home console and the Saturn had the first internet multiplayer for a home console. Sega was always 2 steps or more ahead. Look up the Sega Channel. Hm... Xbox marketplace much?
they should remake the sonic adventure series for the wii (as disc, sadly D:), as downloadable content for the 360 and ps3 and they should include this online modes :D
the chao garden online would be the best thing EVER
would u happen to know the name of the songs used?
woow this vid gives me a nostalgic feel wen i played this when i was a kid and im like 16 now! I agree with other youtubers saying this revolutionized online gaming.
For one the Dreamcast did have online, just isn't there anymore.
Along with that the NTSC Saturn did have limited "Online" capabilities; difference was it wasn't server based, so there are games like Saturn Bomberman that if you get a friend who has a saturn, buy 2 Net link modems, and call each other on a land line to start it you could actually play "online".
Though Server based is superior in that it's easier, and you don't have to know people.(Though land lines last forever)
I see this and I wonder why sega stopped making this kind of stuff... They were ahead of EVERY OTHER COMPANY at this time, in their console capabilities.
Dreamcast was and is STILL genious. I understand that the PS2 at the time was said to be more poularar and it also had a DVD drive but so what. Its all about the games and dreamcast was one of the first to really deliver every beautiful aspect of gaming. Their has always been somthing about sega games that were always origional games. Honestly I can go on all day about the Dreamcast being one of the best systems ever but I'ma end this now...
Actually, everything shown on that video was pretty much made available on SA's in-game site.
Despite the wording given, everything was indeed downloadable and available on SA's in-game site. You can see that hedgehog picture finding mission in one of my own videos.
WOW, I never knew my dreamcast could do that, and I never knew sonic adventure could do that either, I have both, but it won't work, any advice? I don't know if I could take the dreamcast and the game in somewhere to maybe see what the problem is, I don't know if it's the game or the system....
Sonic Adventure never had internet capability and the Dreamcast network got shut down ages ago soon after the PSO networks went down (That was their internet flagship)
No, these are all unreleased features. You could download chao from a website, but they weren't actual chao raised by someone else. As far as I remember, you could get 'jewel' or metallic colored chao.
You can still get online with a Dreamcast, but you must be able to connect to a private server.
if i was to get me a broadband connector for my dreamcast could i still get online with it? i know you can play your dreamcast with pso threw a private server same with quake 3

I have my dc since 1998 and yes u can still browse on your Dreamcast and go to google etc with planet web and others..
You can still play some online games that still have servers on like PSO v1/v2, Quake III , 4x4, Starlancer, Sega Swirl, Doom and Maximum Pool.
