@haubsen You're certainly entitled to your own opinion, but your premise is flawed. I happen to love Vai and Satriani. But Vai makes mistakes during live performances just as any guitarist does. Satch is also a GREAT live guitarist, and plays even better live than on the record IMO. I've seen him in concert a couple times. You should check out his live album DVD, "Satriani Live!". It's a truly virtuosic performance by Satch, and easily his best live material.

i dont really care for the way Andy plays Joe's stuff. i think they should have Danny Gill do it; his tone is much closer to Joe's and would also probably know Joe's style better since he was his mentor.

@streatcarp - These are the facts - Andy did a really good job replicating this song - making it, yes, a COVER! The fact is, Joe Satriani plays this song differently - including at times different notes, and different positions on the guitar, all of which can be seen in Joe's live performances. I simply made the observation that although Andy did a great job, he did not play it the same way that Satriani plays it. Of COURSE only Joe can make it sound 100% Joe, but my initial comment stands...
