@GrooveNerfer Josh Homme produced this song and half of the album in the desert, the rest of the album was done in pink duck/avatar studios produced by James Ford and Dean Fertita.
He has such a stunnng voice- I am so glad they are growing as a band- I personally think this is their best albums and those critics who had a knee jerk reaction- in about 3-5 years will realise their mistake- t would not be the first time. They got used to the consistency of the really amazing previous albums- and were so jarred by the change in tone on this album that they had not been able to see how amazing it was yet. The beand as a whole grew. wow.

I dont know why people are slagging off humbug ok its different to the other two albums but they are trying new styles its an awesome album the more i listen to it the better it sounds and this tune is brilliant
Think about it like this. Led Zeppelin's 3rd album was a bit of a jump from their last two records, but when they came out with their 4th it was an explosion of all their previous album's sounds mixed into one piece of greatness. I'm not comparing Arctic Monkeys to Led Zeppelin, I'm just saying their 3rd album was an experiment to see how far they could take their sound and, when they do make a fourth album (I pray they do) it will be a perfect honeing of their sound into a masterpiece.
I love Humbug. I think it's expected for them to change their sound. I mean, come on. Give them a break. Just because they don't sound like rebellious teenagers anymore and are trying to grow up, shouldn't be held against them. I'm just glad they're still doing what they love still. And you have to admit, Alex Turner is one pretty suave motherfucker. Seeing them in April. Can't wait.
I also think there is a huge difference between AM and KOL- in that AM grew n a more artistic way- sought ought Humme for Humbug- while KOL on several tracks became less artistic- running to conventional music tricks- though some songs benefitted a move to a harder sound- I don't think they explored enough. Love Humbug!

Nirvana's lyrics are a BILLION times better than Arctic Monkeys....Turner just thinks if he rights something witty that somehow means he's a lyrical genius, well it's not, Cobain's lyrics had a deeper meaning. And singing, don't get me started, Turner's nippy acent comes through on nearly all of his songs. And it does matter what you call it, don't be so vague about music.

IMO Nivarna really isnt that great.
Yes they were pretty inovative in there time.

@Rumil20- Kurt's voice is clearly better than Turner's...he actually sounds original compared to that nippy twat. And Arctic Monkey's lyrics aren't better in the slightest, have you actually listened to anything besides Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana? Because it doesn't sound like it. At the end of the day though, even if you THINK The Arctic Monkeys are better than Nirvana...you need to remember that Arctic Monkeys will not stand the test of time where as Nirvana have.

He has such a stunnng voice- I am so glad they are growing as a band- I personally think this is their best albums and those critics who had a knee jerk reaction- in about 3-5 years will realise their mistake- t would not be the first time. They got used to the consistency of the really amazing previous albums- and were so jarred by the change in tone on this album that they had not been able to see how amazing it was yet. The beand as a whole grew. wow.

Think about it like this. Led Zeppelin's 3rd album was a bit of a jump from their last two records, but when they came out with their 4th it was an explosion of all their previous album's sounds mixed into one piece of greatness. I'm not comparing Arctic Monkeys to Led Zeppelin, I'm just saying their 3rd album was an experiment to see how far they could take their sound and, when they do make a fourth album (I pray they do) it will be a perfect honeing of their sound into a masterpiece.

I love Humbug. I think it's expected for them to change their sound. I mean, come on. Give them a break. Just because they don't sound like rebellious teenagers anymore and are trying to grow up, shouldn't be held against them. I'm just glad they're still doing what they love still. And you have to admit, Alex Turner is one pretty suave motherfucker. Seeing them in April. Can't wait.

I also think there is a huge difference between AM and KOL- in that AM grew n a more artistic way- sought ought Humme for Humbug- while KOL on several tracks became less artistic- running to conventional music tricks- though some songs benefitted a move to a harder sound- I don't think they explored enough. Love Humbug!
