@SoCalledFreeman They are demonstrating which is a civil right. They are only pissing off people who want to be pissed off, to me they are demonstrating by occupying space which could be used more efficient and less car centric.

I love cars, but in a dense city with traffic problems they are bloody useless and inefficient.

i ride bikes a lot, in london as well. If i was a car driver i would run u the fuck over if u got in my way. Those cyclists r blocking the whole road. If ur slow WALK. The people who do this r sad. I ride my bike about 20 miles a day for pleasure and used to ride it too school. Ive seen motorists who take the piss and break the law, but ive seen bikers do it a hell of a lot more. If ur a cyclists who breaks the law, dnt complain when u get run the fuck over

Typical fair weather cyclists on their jolly Friday night jaunt in London during the nice warm summer months.  I bet you wouldn't see 10% of these bods cycling down the mall at 6.30am on a wet February morning in the pissing rain. We are the people who do it day in day out and have to deal with the consequences of the pissed of cab driver or WVM who you delayed getting home one Friday evening. Please fuck off.

@LondonCitygent agreed. the very best critical mass is mid winter, freezing and raining. Then it's Londoners who dominate - not nasty, aggresive outsiders and tourists. What's the point of irritating people in the west end? When it started we used to head out to a neighbourhood at random and have a jolly old cycle, talking, sharing, etc. Now it's bastards basically who go out to block roads and piss people off. It's crap. Tonights was a failure. set off 715 over by 755, all good people quit it

OMG..there is a critrical mass in athens, there are events with more than 1000 cyclists, people have understood the value of the bicycle, drivers are supporting us and some cops in one event said..."we ll make sure that next friday we will have a day off to come with you", there is an event called freeday starting at 22:00 and it goes till 11:00 the morning with over 1000 cyclists. i would expect from British copers and car drivers to be supportive.

Ive never seen a car cork a street like in a critical mass bike ride. If I did I would call the police, same way I would if I saw a bicycle cork the street.

@BestTits This same event is done in my home city too, every month. The police organizes the traffic lights off and cops cork rotes so that the whole group can pass the crossings safely. Cars wait couple of mins, whithout any honking. There is nothing illegal on that.

@BestTits I think the police would rather have the roads corked until the mass of cyclists have passed than have a fatal mix of people in cars in a hurry and people on bikes not. I saw very few things I would deem illegal, a few people cycling on the wrong side of the street (bad show) and a few car drivers acting aggressively trying to get their cars where it was not safe for them to be.
