I wish there was a new OAH where Granville inherited the shop and finally has a family of his own and they are all trying to run it with a batch of crazy new customers to deal with. Where Arkwright was content to have just the one shop run the same old way, Granville would be a bit more ambitious and always trying new things to expand the business into a string of shops but failing most of the time to do more than break even. Give Granville some of Del Boy's avarice and greed.
I was 10 when I first saw Open All Hours on PBS back in 84/85. Though I was a kid, I understood some of the plots like Arkwright making the remarks about Gladys and the stuttering was funny as hell. My Mom died laughing at the episodes back then also. As I got older and understood things more, it was much funnier. -- I wish more episodes were made during that 9 year period. A 10 or 15 year reunion episode would had been nice, before Ronnie passed away.
I don't know about the UK DVD but the American DVD version is cut in one spot. The "New Suit" segment with Granville doing the dancing skit outside. That kind of ruined it. That segment was aired by tape back in the 80's and uncut. Why now has it been cut? The humming and tune of "singing in the rain", to me, didn't seem like a violation of copyright since it was a interpretation of the tune pertaining to the skit. I have the uncut version of that episode so all is not lost.
MMMMMM i would have uploaded the series if i thought anyone wud watch it ,,, maybe i will ill start with series 1 though if anyone watches it i will load the rest

I remember one episode where Arkwright was talking over the shop speaker system that he put outside and he went.. "Welcome to ark-ark-ark-ar-ar-ark" and Granville goes "TESCOS!" and arkwright was like "No not tescos!!" hahaha love it.
Could anyone out there please upload some episodes of Open All Hours? We can't get them in the US and I totally love this show, Ronnie Barker and David Jason in one.
