This is so brilliant. Would love to learn to play like this rather than just using a plectrum. Is this peice just made up of different bits n peices? I've seen John D. Loudermilk mentioned... If you could mention a few good songs of his that would help me learn this sort of playing I'd be much appreciated!
Hey man this is cool, we are just about as far apart as night and day but thats ok because we are both musicians, I am a tasteful young man and can appreciate pieces like this and i was wonder what your motivation for writing songs/playing guitar is. Thanks
Awesome! I have been playing my own version of this song for years!! A friend of mine showed me how, and I played what I could remember, so it hardly sounds like this, but it is great to hear the real song!! Your guitar sounds beautiful by the way!! Thanks for posting, have a great day
wow, i love watching this. this one minute 25 sec peice has more feel and groove to it than... well i dont know, its just awesome! put a lesson up if ya got any time? thx 4 posting this none the less.
To be honest hexxle, I either watch all tutorials for guitar on here (youtube) or I know another site that I found on youtube called EASYSTRINGS (dot) INFO that is really really helpful, with stacks and stacks of videos, it really did help me out.
very nice.loved these dibs adn dabs....only one problem...my eye caught your favs, and now I want some french toast and roast chicken! either would go splendidly with the lovely pinking!
John you are a wonderful guitarist, I am honing out my own style right now < I am a pastor and I have a very very deep love of raw gospel bluegrass Like Larry Sparks, and Ralph Stanley. But was once very heavily into hard rock . I know I am headed toward a different, and perhaps untraditional style of gospel. But your vids draw me back time and time again, I hope to be as good as you someday. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT Contribution!
wow, he really has the feel of the guitar. Only something that comes to those that have used the guitar many hours. I hope when I become old, I play like you.
Sir players like you are what truly inspire me to continue playing. I am sizteen and have been playing for two years, and I have to compliment you on you knowledge of the acoustic guitar. Your martin is absolutely gorgious, I am going to be getting a 00-18 for christmas this year. keep on playin
For some reason it is only available in hi quality mode - unfortunately, the sound quality is not as good in that mode. I have notified the YouTube staff - hope that helps.

you have to make a CD man! you're one of the greatest fingerpickers i've ever heard! what i'm proposing you do is take all your cover songs and your original songs and make an album. it's never to late! i'm sure myself and thousands of others would die to hear some more of this great stuff!!
Also, just having started playing, well, learning how to play, two days ago, you have given some great inspiration. I doubt I will ever be as good, but I have something to strive for at least. Thanks John, please keep them coming.
awesome...It took a minute to recall Dry and Dusty?...I taped a friend of mine (who also plays it on mountain dulcimer) and another guitarist playing this on my baby Taylor in OK in 2003 at a dulcimer festival...I love it...your videos are so helpful...I sent this on to my son in CA who can learn anything after one time through!

Nice work, what year is your 00-18? and are your bridge pins bone? nice tunes on all yours.
12Radius 2 years ago
Yes - bone. 1967 - among the last made before Martin changed to the new bridge stock design that many feel had a negative impact on treble response.
