Christine, I feel bad for this man. Here is this man, Peter Slomski, baptized with a GIFT from GOD, his Catholic faith. And he rejects that Gift from God. What a shame! God put this gift right on Peter's lap and he slaps God in the face by rejecting the gift of the Catholic faith which God gave him.

Pagans of old and Hindus today claim as you do the statues they pray to are only a place of focus to the invisible Deity behind them. They laugh as you do at the idea of actually worshipping the image in itself. It is a hideous violation of the second command to worship by employing a manmade artefact.

I know people goes to CC cos they want to give to God what they think He wants from them. But this is not how relationship with God should look like.

U say Catholic faith is gift from God, i say WORD of God is a Gift from God. You MUST read it.

Catholicism DENIES lots of His word. Like the second commandment - something what God have written by HIMSELF in a STONE.

What protestants have as the 2nd Comm. is actually included in the 1st commandment. The Church does NOT go against that commandment because we do not worship those statues. Do you really think we're that stupid? We do NOT bow down to those statues. We only have ONE God whom we worship. So please do not spread LIES!

i never said catholics are stupid, i was catholic myself, all my friends and family are catholics. Decieved is not stupid, by any means.

If we dont worship figures and statues, explain me what happens in Lourdes, and Fatima, where people crawl on their knees to figures that perform miracles. Or all other miracle paintings and statues around the world, like in Czestochowa, where TENS OF THOUSANDS people goes every year to pray to "Black Madonna" - painting of Mary with baby Jesus.

KnowledgeAddicted, we who are IN the Catholic Church do NOT worship or bow down TO those statues. We are actually bowing down TO GOD in front of those statues because they are reminders of GOD and how GOD performed miracles.

We are human beings who like some sort of visual thing, reminder, picture, statue or whatever it may be in a physical form so that we can feel close to God. We don't NEED those things but we have them because God said it was okay for us to have.

Pagans also didn't believe statues of Athena or whoever are literally gods to worship. They did exactly the same thing: carven portraits of their gods, and cult established around those sculptures. The same in India now. THIS IS worshipping statues.

And i KNOW people goes to those Mary sanctuaries, cos they believe in some power in those very statues, that can perform miracles.

Not to mention, theres ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the Bible about praying to Mary or saints. Are they omnipresent like God?

KnowledgeAddicted, God commanded Moses to make the angels to go on top of the Ark. Those are statues! God would not tell Moses to do that if it was wrong. God also commanded that a bronze serpent be carved and placed on a stick so that when people looked at the serpent they would be healed. That serpent was a "type" of Jesus for the New Testamant. When we gaze upon a crucifix we are reminded how Jesus died for us. When we contemplate on Jesus on the cross, our souls can be healed.

@BornAgain2003. i have debated many catholics on line and one thing i noticed from them is that they hate the title "bornagainsaint". they believe a person cannot be a bornagain saint while you are still alive, you have to be dead and the pope will determine who is a saint and who isn't. i don't care for catholicism, i left the RCC.  there doctrines anger me. when i was a small child i kept wondering what the priest was doing at the alter until i learned recently, then i left.
