I work with Tide & wanted to personally let you all know that Talking Stain is in the running for CBS' TOP TEN SUPER BOWL COMMERCIALS of all time.
From now until the air date, Jan 31st @ 8pm, viewers can go to cbs[dot]com/TIDE to cast their vote for Tide To Gos Talking Stain.
During the special, the top 3 picks will be revealed during the show, and viewers will be able to go online at that time to decide which commercial will take home the ultimate title.
hahha I think this one, the marriage proposal, the game show, and the Sorry to keep you waiting one have the best chances of winning. I love the guy's face at the end when he pouts his lips! XD So funny and guilty looking.
My favorites are this one and "You never listen". I've noticed that most of the date ones put the stain on the girl, and since the guy is the one being distracted, there's an inherent paradox. When the guy buys the Tide... how's he gonna wipe his girlfriend's shirt without insulting her? So the ones, such as this one, where the person being embarrassed is the one with the stain, make more sense for commercial use.
I was looking at the commercials with the expectation that they would air on TV; how well would such a commercial influence me to buy the product? Well, for the ones where the guy is being distracted by the girl, there's plenty of embarrassment, and you might buy the product, but when the time would come to USE it... well, How?? Unless your date happens to like you very much and want to Umph with you tonight, she's probably not going to be too happy about you.. seemingly sexually assaulting her?
So, there's an inherent unusability and contradiction. The Tide one where the guy's giving an argument for his case, he's not the one being embarrassed, and so again, how is it to be applied?
Thus, your commercial makes sense, the commercial with the grocery "date" makes sense, and probably one or two others. But the majority Don't make sense.
If yours doesn't win, Tide will lose a lot of profit from, eh... obtuse, let's call it, people. Your commercial adds a "hack" benefit to the product, something people will want to do as a joke/to get away with eating stuff. And, when they're not doing that, Tide's other use will be obvious. Got a stain in the carpet? Well, won't Tide clear that up too? It sure cleared my shirt up! Mua ha ha ha!
You seem to be missing the point, SomethingSea. Tide items are geared more at women -- since they are the biggest consumer of these type of products. The person facing the "Embarrassment" is the one looking for a solution... the woman in the case of the dating videos. Simply look at the currently airing spot: The hiring manager is NOT going to reach across the desk and clean the dopes stain. The situation shows the interviewees embarrassment, and why he didn't get the job.
What I am saying is that the target audience will identify with the lady in the videos, and not want to be in that same situation. The dating videos a clearly more in line with their demographic than this one.

This one I believe is the best of them all. Funny, creative and it doesn't hurt to have a very beautiful dietician.

actually maybe his Momma's voice with a "bubble vision" needs to come back and talk to him! this would make it!

This is funny bcuz the stains all have their own accents :)

not even close to funny
also, the voice talking about the product; "silence the stain instantly", is quite annoying

Good point. Usually women are inclined to not want to put people as disease. I'm glad you posted.

Where was the margarita stain?
SomethingSea 3 years ago
it's on the right side of his shirt....it kind of had to be hidden otherwise it wouldn't make sense that he didn't see it before he went in
ikodidit 3 years ago
I don't see it at all.

i think a lot of people are going to cheat on their dieticians after this :)

The voice at the end is funny... and your dietician is pretty hot :)

Yeah, good concept.

I like the fact that the stains are being "gagged" by the Tide stick. :)
