  • Could you please post the 8 strand It was not under more videos.

would there be much difference if I made it out of leather??

    Thank you

  • Could you explain or show how to START the 12 strand braid? I understand how to start the 8 strand but I have no idea how to start the 12 strand. Also, how many feet of cord would I need to make a 22 ft rope?

  • thanks I am trying to find educational stuff so I cna learn to make some on my own and eventually pass the skill on with/to my sons.

  • sereriosly no one talks sorry spelled it wrong

  • no shoelaces nnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooo lol

  • First thank you for this video.

I want to ask you some about the paracord:

    it is without the core?

Seems top be so flat. I have some cord but cannot be plaited so flat :(

  • hello your video is very beautiful. I am Italian but I have always loved the whips do not know where to learn them. you can advise me some video or book or website that explains the basic steps? hello thank you from italy by alessandro

  • HAHA SHOELACES

    right: under 4 over 2.

    left: nose itching.

    right: scratching nose.

    left under 4 over 2.

    right: under 4 over 2... :D

but nevertheless this video helped me a lot.

    keep it up ;)

  • jesus...at this point, you're making rope. not braiding. hahaha

  • this seems like way to much work......

  • How do you prevent the junction of the handle and the thong from collapsing? Do you bind string around each belly?

  • >O.o<

  • Hey, I just wanted to share this great source that I found for 550 paracord on ebay.

The guy shipped it out really fast and had great communication. He has quite a few different colors with apparently a bunch more colors to come.

Go on ebay and search for: 50 ft ~ 550 Paracord ~ US made ~ para cord parchute 50'

  • under 4 over 2... thats not the correct way but i suppose it works.

  • @1914Sephiroth It may not be the usual way but I have yet to find the Word Federation Whip Braiding Licensing Board requirements. This way the "slant" of the paracord is at a slightly greater angle which seems to make the stored energy flow down the thong with less exertion on my part. In addition it is much easier to do since it is less likely that you will drop a stitch.

  • @nawataipan I didn't say there was anything wrong with what you are doing, it's just not the correct way. I say as long as it works who cares, but professional whip makers do under 3 over 3 for 12 plait.

  • @nawataipan Also why are you not tightening. I've used paracord and it needs tightened or it won't make a good whip

  • hey thanks ive never seen someone that could do that to make a hearingbone plait they do under 3 over 3 really nice i will try it out when i get some more leather i dont have any

  • what are you making please tell me its a bul rope

  • I like to use paracord with a core for the center strand because it is much easier to get the light chain pulled through. I have never had any trouble getting the core to slide out. Pull out about an inch and push the outer sheath back. Continue this process. If you send me an email at nawa.taipan@gmail.com and I will try to help. Guess I need to add this step to the videos.

  • I tried to take the middle out of the paracord but it just wouldn't come out. How did you get the core out of yours? Did you take it out or did you buy it like that?

  • this dont look complected at all ... ill just stick to riding haha .

  • i thinkits complicated o_o

  • Where do you get the nylon paracord? And what do you mean you half to remove strands? I am asking these questions to you beacause I want to make a nylon whip.

  • Do you normally plait this loosely? Don't get me wrong, everything looks perfectly neat and even, but I was taught to always pull the strand tight before bringing it around (pull tight, plait loose) Is there a reason you don't do this? thanks

  • @steph818181 Yes I depart from the normal process because paracord is a bit different from leather. My finished whip is ready to crack with no break in at all. I have never worn one out so at 15 bucks a foot it is a time and money saver.

  • @steph818181 how he said it costs 15 bucks a foot, it is not, most paracord is about 15 cents a foot, and

when bought in bulk ( spools ) goes down to 6 cents and less a foot.

  • @1914Sephiroth I believe he meant he sells whips [or used to] for 15 dollars a foot, not the cost of paracord

  • How do you start this braid, as an overlay? Thanks.

  • thanks dude this helped a lot

  • under four, over two..... thx alot at that part ^^

  • why did you cut it? or did you?

  • In order to taper the thong you have to remove strands. With leather you can taper the strands.

  • @nawataipan Thats what she said.....

  • @Booliocious I was a type of hemostat clamp

  • I'm gonna have to try pullin out the inside of the paracord next time.

  • can you sho us how to do it from the very beginning please??? I really wanna know how to make a kind of real one, or a good immitation at least.

  • that was wat been loking for how to make that whip thanks for uploading this video

  • LMFAO

  • What is that? A whip?

  • yeah it is

  • @DocDreEMT i beliveits a shoe string XD

  • What kind of quantity of lace would I need to get started with this kinda thing?

If I order 100m will I run out tomorrow?

  • it takes 200 feet to make a twelve foot or thats what i haerd

  • Nice job, thanks!

  • Not trying to be a smart arse but can you tell me why your plaiting in an under four over two sequence when the normal sequence would be under three over three so the plaiting is even on all sides.

    Kind Regards

    Bernie

  • Not a smartass question at all. I like the strands to have a bit steeper angle and find that doing so seems to focus the energy towards the end of the whip better than the more shallow angle. In addition the under three over three sequence seems to get the two middle strands switched from time to time requiring a rebraid of however long it took me to catch it. That never happens with the over two.

  • @bernie46 ive never seen it done like that before either. besides it would make it a pain in the ass to drop strands and keep an even plait.

  • @bernie46 I've seen a picture of it being done with 8 strands and an under 2 over 2 sequence.

  • First of all it is only supposed to show the difference between the 8 strand round plait. It is associated with the how to make your own cow whip tutorial on the dallasdogsled website and it is not leather. I have plans to upgrade this video in the near future, since it has no sound and the new camera will increase the quality of the image.
