this videos piracy ad scared the hell out of me when i was 4 then in the night after watching it i would have a nightmare where the vci logo would come and attack me and release the advert on me and i would be very scared
Well, it's a good thing I'm in the U.S.A. My tapes have the announcer who is American and the clips are in their original pitch (NTSC)! Also, none of my tapes have "pirate copies", which means it's a good thing! Because piracy can be a major problem in the U.K. So please help us to fight it! And there are more important things than the treats you can get your hands on. Greedy kids who only think of themselves should not be rude. And why? Because you can't always get what you want! Understood?
According to areyouakegger (who owns over 600 VHS tapes, the last ever video to contain the 1986 WDHV logo was Man Of The House, which was released on video in the UK in December 1995.
You'll have to ask areyouakegger. He is also scottb96, you might want to check out his videos on that account.
Yes, many rental tapes from 1995 contained the 1986 WDHV logo, including The Jungle Book (live action), Blank Check, D2 The Mighty Ducks and The Adventures Of Huck Finn. A 1997 retail tape of The Big Green also contains the 1986 WDHV logo.
But the thing is, I do have a tape from another country printed December 27, 1994. That has the 1986 WDHV logo. I thought it was going to have the Disney Videos logo, but I was wrong. As a result of no 1994 tapes having the Disney Videos logo, it is still from 1995.
I know that the UK has illegal videcassettes warnings, but why would it matter even if they couldn't find the sticker and it looked the same?
Also, the announcer (can anyone tell me who it is) seems to say things differently than where I from. Can anyone tell me why this is so and why there are long pauses such as 2:33-2:24?
Otherwise, I enjoyed this set of previews. Thank you for uploading this.
The stickers can't get rusty. They're put on by the manufacturing company. The stickers are basicly shiny paper squares. I'll upload a video showing you what I mean tomorrow.
Once upon a time, Mary poppins was in 1964, Dumbo was in 1941, Robin hood was in 1973 and Alice in wonderland was in 1951 or 1952. And now they're classic disney films. They've first come out at the cinema along time ago.
I used to dislike the begining of the disneyland paris advert. I knew it was scary, but now i like it. 5:55 is good. I used to dislike the ending of the walt disney classics advert. I knew it was scary as well, but now i like it. 5:46 has got 4 walt disney classic videos and available now. At 4:08, I like the classic disney music. At the begining of the walt disney classics advert, It says walt disney classics. Now, I don't know what the disney music is from.
When it was announcing that "The Lion King" was being shown in cinemas, that reminded me of my own childhood since "The Lion King was the first film I ever saw in the cinema.
it brings back a lot of memories!
I wish I could remember what music is being played in the background during the Disnyland Paris advert.
I do regret selling my own copy of "Snow White" on VHS years ago, in exchange for the DVD version.
The Lion King 2D in 1994 is the same as The Lion King 3D This year

Was this the last UK Video to feature the 1986 Walt Disney Home Video logo?
SI3DFilms 1 year ago
@SI3DFilms
Well, sort of. 1995 was the actual year when that logo ended, because it was still on rental tapes.
jonghyunchung 1 year ago
@jonghyunchung On Disney-related material that is. BVHV continued to use this logo for non-Disney releated material until 2000.

What Stay tuned logo has this got on?

I have this tape, though I watched it so many times it's pretty beaten up.

And by the way, Aladdin couldn't be the last video to have the WDHV logo because it was released before the Snow White VHS.
So, it definitely proves that this actually IS the last video to fully use the WDHV logo.

Was it a rental or a retail tape?
jonghyunchung 2 years ago
Rental. That tape shows both the 1986 WDHV logo and the 1995 Disney Videos logo.
lemonsters08 2 years ago
So I guess the WDHV logo actually ended on rental tapes in 1995.

The one with the announcer saying "Stay Tuned for new of great future releases from Disney Videos, after this feature!"
areyouakegger 2 years ago

The music at the start of the Walt Disney Classics promo, sounds like the circus is in town. But i know that song is "When you wish upon a star"

that would explain why it sounded like the music from the new disney logo.

You can't "not" find he sticker. It's on the spine of the cover and the tape sticker itself.
If the tape is real, the hologram shines, If its a copy, it doesn't shine.
areyouakegger 2 years ago
Okay. So say if the videocassette had a sticker that was rusty and it wasn't even used, would that count as an illegal copy?
