when I 1st saw this I thought perhaps Laura was a bit icey (maybe cause she still the 1st lady-married to a very anti gay president), but now TOTALLY see it differently. I think Laura Bush was very amicable and considering that she was still the first lady, was pleasantly warm on the show. It almost appeared as if she was left out of the conversation . . . I don't know . . . just my opinion ~ At 1st glance Ellen was the one that was distant with her. With Laura, I think there is a decorum that after 8 years, is hard to shed. Jenna blew me away. Did anyone notice that Laura Bush gave a very distant handshake and kept her distance from Ellen? And her daughter didn't hesitate to give Ellen a hug and get closer into the private space of Ellen.

Maybe the younger generation isn't afraid of people who are different or who knows. I'm not a touchy/feely/hugging person myself, but I don't like discrimination of people on the basis of color, religion, sexual preference, etc. It's uncool.
