@DeathReaperTM Airbrushing give a more "realistic" and even paint job, but airbrush heads are 60-100 dollars alone, and then you need paint and an air compressor. If that's what float your boat then fine, but there are other methods which are much less expensive.
With Tamiya Acrylic paints, how much thinner per part of paint would you use to think acrylic paints? And would this amount change depending on what you're painting?
@MrJuitman Doesn't really matter to be honest when it comes to dry brushing. I dry brush using the dregs in the bottom of 99% empty paint jars as you really don't need much paint on the brush at all.
Air brushing or hand painting is a whole different conversation though.....
What a fantastic looking gundam! May I request a simple sanding tutorial? To what extent do you sand to? How do you get in those tiny little corners etc? Looking forward to more of your videos!
Thanks for the request. I'll look into doing a tutorial on sanding later on. Basically, I sand areas until smooth and the tiny corners either shaved away with a sharp hobby knife or sandpaper stuck to a skewer or small piece of plastic.
@TheGhostofZeon Thanks for the reply! I'll give that a go. Also 1 more question, since my local store ran out of matt yellow and matt blue, so i'll be using semigloss instead. What Matt top coat do you recommend, and will it have the same effect as using matt paint to begin with? Used to use Mr Hobby's top coat but it gets emptied pretty quickly.
@TheGhostofZeon Thanks :) Also what drill bit size do you use for those tiny little drill holes on this kit? wanting to perform a similar effect. Sorry for the rapid fire questions.
what a tease, great that you showed the technique but only doing a few parts and not showing the whole effect on the whole figure left me wanting more. FYI, enamels aren't difficult to use, but on the whole acrylics are easier,
Not really. It is possible but it is waaaaaay easier to use acrylics to dry brush as they are easier to get off the brush on to the paper. Enamels are thicker and difficult to use.
i like the pace of your tutorials. it really makes it easy to take in the finer points of your explanation of the technique. super helpful as always, thanks GoZ!
Glad you enjoy it jasonh!! I like to show stuff like this a little slower than what I would actually do them at so people can take it in and learn properly.

I use Mr Hobby Flat Clear. It goes on Glossy and then dries to a Matt finish.

Not sure on the exact size but they are in my pin vise set so they are small. The larger ones are maybe 1 or 2mm smaller ones are smaller than 1mm.
