@AngelofJustize Well I am native ameican and white so I have a claim both ways. I se your about founders, but the nation people are breaking into is popular because of the settlers like it or not. Mexicans are not breaking into borders south of mexico and yes there has been racism like chinese exclusionary rules. Racism is not what we should be about. You want to be in america, learn english com the legal way and I welcome you as a brother whatever color
if white people are "ignorant", what does that make Mexicans? I've been all over Mexico, and the main uniting ingredient of the culture besides being filthy is being painfully uneducated.
Hey Jon, Is it cool if I stop by your house some time, crash on your couch for a while, and raid your fridge? Well, you probably already have lots of people doing that already huh?
I mean, how could you turn away a homeless man. And he shouldn't have to ask to come in, so I guess you don't even bother with locks on your doors huh?
Or do you have different principles for your house than you do for your country?
great mr hickey-you want to them , YOU keep them. YOU pay for their health care. YOU pay for their education. YOU give them spending money. YOU feed them. YOU foot the bill for those incarcerated. if YOU are willing to take care of them i have no problem with them being here. what i do have a problem with is YOU expecting ME to take care of them by stealing my tax dollars.
Someone posted earlier that the US is not the solution to all the third worlds problems. The US may not be the solution, but have contributed greatly to the problems of these countries. US (and other foreign corps) have been raping the natural resources and exploiting the third world's cheap labor. Carlos is following the flight of money and resources from his country to where the money and resources end up, the US. If we stop stealing, then maybe you won't see so many Carlos' entering illegally
That is the dumbest thing I ever saw. He won an award for that? Talk about completely misunderstanding a subject. This guy shows us why are tax dollars are wasted on a college education. He has no education, only indoctination.
Illegal immigration is a tax on the working poor and has kept wages low for decades.
Legal immigration via mostly fraudulent worker visa programs is bringing in 125,000 foreign workers EACH MONTH and is wiping out the middle class - Visa workers are not smarter or harder working, they are younger & cheaper.
We need an immigration moratorium and to make E Verify mandatory & stop re electing traitors that try to shove another amnesty up our as**s. Join Numbersusa, read Vdare(dot)com
@rocketsredglare101 Labor Unions with no strict government regulation of corporation produce outsourcing. The middle class is dwindling not because of immigration taking low paying jobs, it is because people like you and me blame settlers instead of demanding the government to rule for the people. We need to stop the widening of the economic gap between classes. Focus your energy into something more productive and effective, stop the hate on settlers.
Everywhere carlitos goes becomes a shithole carlitos doesn't bring any progress, he think he works hard but the truth is he is shiftless lazy and reproduces like weed.
That's stereotype, not all mexicans drink and breed children, when there's nothing else to do, ppl turned to sex and drink to forget their sorrows, most people work here illegally and pay taxes, 17years in a foreign country without papers is not a joke, no freedom, u get the education but u can't work professionally u have to get what is handed to u under the table, u have family to take care of, we are all humans so we all have rights.
your going to hell..If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.
Paul doesnt care if Carlos crosses the line.... He just wants him to do it LEGALLY.
Its more complicated than just some imaginary lines , these people do not pay taxes, collect government aid and get free healthcare.... while the U.S. citizen foots the bill.
America is not the solution to third world countries poverty. They are bringing our standard of living down. I remember when teenagers worked fastfood and now its all illegal immigrants.
well said JJMillertime, Jon you really need to get a clue, I'm despertly looking for work here in Vegas, due to lay-offs because of lack of money coming into the company I used to work for. Every job I seek is offered to Mexicans before those with years of experiance. I'm even willing to work at fast food joints, but no all the managers want Mexicans over legal U.S. citizens, who by the way send most of their pay back to Mexico, making our economy worse and worse
why don't you blame the war in irak for making the economy worse instead of starving mexicans thats the real problem, this country has made a lot of mistakes and now they are paying for it,
carlos is hungry damn it! if you were hungry you would cross illegally too, waiting for legal documents is complicated too, getting work permit and visa is hard for a homeless person from a third world with no money, you think those documents are fast and easy? you dont care about anyone except yourself it seems, gee I wonder how you would think if you were on carlos side of the line.
Have you been to mexico? Carlos isnt hungy, he just doesnt work or get educated, Carlos also has 4 kids and another one on the way. Maybe if Carlos stopped drinking and having sex like an animal, he wouldnt be required to work more. Even then, Carlos hardly works. What Carlos does like is that another country has free hand outs for him, because he can take US tax payer money. Carlos will never offer anything, he just wants an easy life at the expense of others.
video correctly said north american CONTINENT why you say region? who is talking about region, I am just saying that its politically correct to say that mexico is apart of N. america, central america is not a continent, I lived an immigrant life in italy in my cousin's house who was living illegal there I took his job for a while just wanted to see what its like its harder than the jobs I had here in my country legally the U.S, what you mean easy life? easy life my ass
Check your stats, there are 40 million legal immigrants in the U.S. today, only 40% immigrated as the relative of a U.S. citizen, many of those are parents of naturalized citizens. So yes a lot of people immigrate as the spouse of a U.S. citizen, but most don't. Also over one hundred thousand people come to the U.S. each year on legal working visas that allow them to immigrate later. Yes my grandparents came to this country before there were quotas, just like most people in the U.S. today.
Talk about strict immigration laws, are you familar with Mexican immigration laws. Try getting amnesty for violating Mexican immigration law no matter what country you're from. You can get into Mexico but you face summary deportation if break the law, i.e. no due process.
Although the U.S. has a better education system, Carlos's country has a much better education system than most countries in the world. Important to note the Mexican Constitution provides for free health care for every citizen, although it doesn't describe the quality of that care. I already have an MPA.
Why is Carlos hungry? He live's in a country with more per capita agriculture land than almost every country in the world. More productive coastlines than most countries. More natural resources including oil than most countries. Mexico has more of these resources per Mexican citizen than the United States does.
Carlos should get a job, get an education, get ambitious and be someone, in his own country. Furthermore, Carlos's family history shows that his family moved up to north america from south america. Carlos also thinks that the hundreds of families around the world, legally waiting to become citizens, are stupid for following the rules. Carlos is also unwilling to assimilate into the USA, its too much work. Carlos will never be someone, whether in mexico or in the US, because he chooses not to be.
if carlos is from mexico how the hell is he from south america, please educate yourself before you talk, by the way mexico is in north america grab a geography book according to USA, mexico is officially apart of the north american continent because central america is not a continent , south america starts from colombia and it ends with argentina, north america starts from canada and it ends with panama.
Let me tell you as a native american, that the natives who lived in the land of mexico are a small minority, many were killed and pushed off the land by the present day mexicans, who are immigrants from central and south america. Central america is its own region, whether you like it or not. Those immigrants killed to get that land, now in this day they believe that they can push the "white man" off the entire north american continent because they think its "theirs". Lines are a sign of sovernty
I'm south american and I speak quichua the language of the incas, incas are from south america by the way and sorry to say that my language including other south american languages like guarani are not spoken AT ALL in mexico, and my dna test proves I have hardly nothing to do with mexico's so called immigrants and nobody in texas thinks I look mexican, I have been called colombian peruvian but not mexican, I live in lawrence ks mexicans look like U.S native americans to me not like us
omfg you all americans dont understand i live in el paso when mexicans plant drug u stupid guys buy it, the oil that rightfuly belongs to mexico is being used by the U S A.americans blame evrything on us without even nowing what were doing fuck u
Carlos made his country shit, Carlos wants to come to the U.S. now. Carlos wants to drive a car without a license, Carlos wants to smuggle drugs, Carlos wants free medical care, Carlos wants to breed like a dog, strict immigration laws? 2 fucking thousand cross the border everyday. Idiot
Ferrariguy: did u also kno dat alot of da gangmembers r born and raised in america.. alot of dem frm generationz.. and if not.. dey been growin up w/ a divided family since ur fkn gov keepz seperatin so many families. and kidz grow up like dat.. society makes us diz way.. u white ppl make us dis way.. datz y we so defensive.. diz country makes u diz way.. look at all da shit ya tell us.. r we suppose to kick back and listen to ya run ur mouth.. I DNT FUKEN THINK SO PENDEJO!!!
u fken idiot.. stop talkin so much shiit.. u cant talk unless uv been in our shoes.. we all do learn english pendejo.. we dnt jzt come to da u.s cuz we feel like it.. itz cuz we need a bettr fken life.. we dnt want to leave our beautiful country.. but since da economy iz so bad ovr there.. we need a bettr fken life.. jzt watch all u white ppl will b illegal immigrantz too since da economy iz so fken bad.. ya be movin back to Europe or canada.. and den u can talk all da shiit u fken want!!!
GO TO HELL....Carlos brings desiease wont learn the languages of this line or bother to become a part of that line. Carlos than decides not to respect the reallity of theese lines becuase hes as much as the doosh who drew him
Illegals steal @ 8 trillion a year in wages from LEGAL US citizens. That's 20,000,000 Illegal Invaders times @ $40,000 a year wages equals @ $8 TRILLION ($8,000,000,000,000) in wages stolen EVERY YEAR.
Let alone the 336 BILLION ($336,000,000,000) a year stolen in public services.
Maybe 20,000,000 Americans should abandon the USA, show up in China, and demand THEY learn English, and demand they give us citizenship?
If they don't do as we say, we'll call them "racist"!!!
Nice job. The only thing I would change is the fence to a wall with big freakin guns and a kill zone. Have the kill zone clearly marked so that Carlos knows if he enters the kill zone he will be killed. It's sad that young people like you are being brainwashed by socialist college professors.
its sad to see that soules old farts like you choose not to see the hole story and are only beliving what the media is telling them to think. open your eyes and see the truth
I am totally with you dude i think that we all deserve the same rights because it is hard to say "okay i want to be born here!" YOU CAN NOT DO THAT!!!!! THat is dumb! If you are born in mexico than you should be able to come to america if you want to!!!!!!! If you are born ia china you should be able to come to America and so on!!! so I think that we all should have the exact same rights where ever we are born!!!!!! I hope that there are some other people that will agree with me! thx!!!!!!
Dumb. Illegals need to quit living outside their means (having 12 kids while only making 4 dollars a day). If carlos is hungry then he needs to go to his government and DEMAND change. We did it. I am sure libs would be more than happy to move to mexico to help with the effort (if not then it proves their hypocrisy). Paul was in the same boat as carlos 200 years ago. Paul's ancestors demanded change and got it. Carlos is lazy and looking for a handout. Get nuetered carlos.
You do realize that our ancestors fled from Europe, right? The situation 200 years ago was FAR different than today. It doesn't make sense to relate the two.
How can you say Carlos is lazy and looking for a handout? They can't receive federal aid due to a lack of Social Security Numeber. On top of that, most Mexican workers manage to work here, pay their living expenses and still have money to send home to feed their families in Mexico. Sounds pretty hard working to me.
Carlos could fix he country. His government has been corrupt for decades. Over 40% of Carlos' people live in poverty. Coming to america taking jobs, social services and driving down wages hurts US. If Carlos would fix his country it would benefit both of us. Amnesty will not fix illegal immigration. (Reagan did it in the 80's, that is why we have the problem now) Our economy cannot support the influx of illegals. Fix Mexico and you will fix the problem.
@jonhickey no one says they are not hard working most are, but illegal is illegal and if i could i would shoot carlos as he crossed the border. There are ways to do it legally
@jonhickey NOT only what you said, but also illegals pay taxes that they never file a return for, they tend to use fake ss numbers to get jobs, so when tax time comes around, the federal government receives millions of dollars free from these people. Not to mention when they pay for gas or other things they buy they pay taxes on.
This is the SOCIALIST. My US constitution says no one can enter my country. You are getting your masters to destroy the US and bring Socialism into the USA. You are fool. Do you disagree with the Mexican Immigration policy? Traitor. In Californis you sign buddy when you teach ppublic school. I will have a bill passed in Georgia that states if you are against the USA anbd you teach against the USA you will be fired.
says the man/women who cant spell 'and' as 'anbd'.Your just a tight lipped republican who has nothing better o do. And boy do you sound like Hitler by saying your going to have a bill passed in Georgia that states....if ..you teach against the USA you will be fired.I mean come on man those were one of Hitlers policies.
A teacher can not teach anything other than what they are told in a public school. Parents have every say.A Private school such as college can teach crap. How can anyone that is for conservation agree with One million crossing border illegaly and 2 million legaly entering and National council of the RACE /NCLR lobbying to flood the country with cheap labor and lobby against skilled people from Europe or other areas? 560 million people inside the U.S. by 2054 ! Maybe we should go back to 1800.
Er, okays i think a smart 15 year old like me has better things to do than debate with opinionated people like you.Btw lovely essay youve written above what ive just wrote. You've goote a A well done! :) lmao
Thats a lie. Revolution can start immediately. You a dumb bitch. Move to mexico moron and help instead of sitting on your donut munching ass saying we should do something here. That does not fix Mexico's problem or illegal immigration. I'm glad I blocked you.
Haha.. People with university studies stay in México, so they wont "steal" ur jobs. People that for some reason didnt have the opportuniy to study, they go to have a job that people like JON, or ANY that has leave a comment wont apply for, at least that ones of u want to work as a housekeeper or in the kitchen of a restaurant, U deffend like if illegal people will steal for real ur jobs, when the only jobs they do, is the ones that United states's citizens doesnt like.
Jon you really need to be worried about your future here in the US, cause pretty soon you won't even have a job to go to after your done with your higher learning.
Oh you don't speak english, well no problem, we got spanish stores, spanish reastraunts, spinsh directories, and if you don't know english, just press 2 and a spanish speaking opperater will help you in spanish. FUCK THE GOD DAMN SPANISH FUCKERS.
Well everyone has 2 things going for them, assholes and the right to speak, I care not what you think of me, but I was born in the US, and now it's over run with mexicans that take jobs for lower pay then what someone that was born here would take. Ever wonder why we don't like certain mexicans, it's cause they come here and f--k with the econamy, I'm not a racist, but when I see a mexican come to the US and don't even try to learn english, yeah I'm against that, so go away now ivangrohi
What a moron you are, this is the damn USA, your forefathers died protecting it, you actully think some forefather of EL MEXICO came to this county and died defending the US? Yeah it's cool that others want to come here and have a better life, but things have gone to far, we now cater to them damn Mexicans that refuse to learn how to speak english. Course now they don't have to with all the fracking catering we are allowing to happen.
Carlos' government seems to have a big problem with illegal immigration when it is people who want to live in Carlos' nation (and arent rich). So instead of Carlos "manning up" and working to improve his nation, he sneaks into Paul's country and hates on Paul's country's immigration laws. At the same time, Carlos waves Carlos' flag (not Paul's flag) when Carlos is in Paul's nation.
Its amazing to see how someone who is going to college can be so profoundly stupid!
Ok i agree with u but its not so easy. i mean like the US government doesnt care about ppl being hungry its like every other gov. they only care about wats gonna benefit them.and building this fence omg how dumb we're gonna spend millions of dolars on this and still ppl are gonna find a way to get over here. and ppl need to stop complaining bout how they come here illegally bc i bet most would come here legally if the process were easier, its cheaper 2 come legally than illegally 2 most anyways!
why doesnt mexico have the same policy for their country? I mean, why don't they ask for MEXICAN citizenship as do americans whenever someone from another country comes over? Is it because this nation thinks that they own every other country out there? Why is it so easy for Americans to go to the 'good' part of Mexico for vacation, just by saying they are citizens of the US? Does every one have to be a citizen of the US to be allowed into other countries with no problems? This is somewhat unfair
How about respecting laws! If illegal aliens came to simulate into our culture that would be one thing, however they come here and refuse to learn our language and laws! Until they do the two following things stay I've mention, please stay home! There's no labor shortage, just greedy company's unwilling to pay far wages!
I agree illegal immigrations in its self is not a major violations of law, but neither is running a stop sign. Image the if everybody was running stop signs. What a mess!
What happens when YOU pick which laws you'll obey? I think they call it chaos. What a mess. The issue is just a little bit more complicated the a stop sign. Ask California how well the cost of dealing with illegals is working out.
Yep that is the problem, anyone who belives they can just decide what laws they want to follow and those they don't. I used the analogy of the stop sign because simple illegal entry is only a low level federal misdemenor. But those that believe they chose which laws to follow will break other laws too. 20% of the inmates in federal prison are illegal aliens and well over 200,000 illegal aliens are in state and local prisons for for other than immigration violations. Image the cost of custody
yeah and imagine if more countries were like USA poor defenseless third world countries would be eaten alive, chevron a USA company pouring billion of gallons of toxic waste into the amazon leaving ecuador in dept plus killing 80 people with contamination, well as long as chevron stays filthy rich I guess, USA says it not their problem well vegaslady1970 not being able to find a job is not carlos's problem either
Cherokees had no laws esablished concerning immigration. They had no laws at all. They were uncivilized. They were savages who really own nothing. So the Europeans claimed this land. Get your facts strait!!
real story--there was this legal american citizen mexican guy who went to mexico to visit his friend.he wants to come back to the u.s from his visit, but(i forgot the people)dont let him back in the u.s cuz they think hes just a tipical mexican guy who wants to come to the u.s.
to me thats racis cuz just cuz hes mexican doesnt mean hes an illegal immagrant...
Another factor that scares those in power is the idea of a majority Hispanic US population. The mandatory purchase of goods and services is why I'd prefer a national sales tax to the current income tax model. There are so many oppressed around the world. What happens when they all come here?
Immigrants do fill the labor shortages and mitigate negative population trends in 1st world nations, which is why I agree that they're critical to economic growth. But it's a stretch to think the logical conclusion is that we should allow unrestricted influx. We just can't handle the hundreds of millions of people who would like to become Americans overnight. To paraphrase Ben Franklin, all things in moderation.
I'm all about privatizing everything we can to reduce taxes & have more control over our own earnings. But bear in mind that we who would be responsible enough to properly allocate our money to cover important things like roads, health care, retirement, etc are, sadly, a minority. So you'd have a huge segment of the population frivolously blowing all their money and then, when they couldn't drive to work on toll-only roads, they'd unify to change the laws to give them access to our resources.
I would argue that the only reason toll roads can currently be regulated with a mere gate is that there is a viable alternative. If toll roads were the only option you'd need a massive enforcement agency to keep freeloaders off of them. Besides, who made the initial significant investment to build the toll roads?
The principle is sound in theory, but Utopian in practice. By the time the labor market was sufficiently saturated to make coming here preclusive, we would have an unmanageably massive population and unemployment in the double digits. Also, you're making the naive assumption that jobs are the only thing that would attract foreigners to the US. How about freedom from oppression?
Prisons: I'm not sure how many convicts can afford fines to support prisons. They're not typically rolling in dough, you know. And if they do have wealth, I'd rather see it go to those individuals against whom they committed the crime. Even if you favor keeping a criminal at work in prison his whole life as a "slave" of the state, he still won't generate much more income than is necessary to cover his incarceration costs.
Of course a private company is better, but the analogy was supposed to demonstrate that privatization is only about a 99% solution. Roads: Mandatory taxation is testament to the fact that private individuals will not voluntarily pay for shared public resources to the extent necessary to maintain them. If people were instinctively willing to do their fair share, Communism would have worked.
As for the social programs, building a house is a burden, but one which is worth bearing for the shelter it provides. And you might be able to do your own wiring and plumbing (call these education, retirement planning, health care, etc) but there are certain components of the house that you will not be able to build on your own (national defense, road maintenance, prison systems) and therefore must pay (taxes) for govt to do.
True, but what happens to our society and our economy when you allow anyone on the planet who's "peaceful" to flood unrestricted into our country? To use an analogy, I can run a mile today and 2 miles next week, etc, progressively increasing over time up to the point where I will be in shape to run a marathon. But tell me to run the marathon tomorrow with no training and I'll probably die. So it goes with the growth of the economy through gradually increased labor influx.
Even as a government employee myself, I agree that we should keep government out of the economy whenever possible. But in a purely libertarian system, we would rely solely on the threat of amercement to deter corporations from polluting or committing some other socially damaging activity. The problem is that corporations are profit-driven and if the costs of following the rules are higher than the losses from potential litigation, they will take their chances to the chagrin of the populace.
It doesn't just "seem" like there are a lot of illegals, there ARE a lot. Most estimates I've read put the number in the area of 15 million. I won't argue that the economy is absorbing them rather well. In fact, I'd say their role in the economy is the only grounds for allowing them to stay under a temporary workers program. It's the social cost (lost income tax revenue and strain on schools and hospitals) that I'm more concerned with.
Are you an economist, a libertarian, or both? I agree that unrestricted flow of goods and labor yields the greatest fiscal benefit (how could I not), but shouldn't other factors be considered (ie: environment, control of the rate of introduction of competition so US corporations can have some time to adapt) that might justify some semblance of regulation? I'm with you ideologically, but we have to be realistic.
Really good points, Ory. But there still has to be some semblance of regulation of the inflow of personnel both for the saturation issue I alluded to and for security reasons.
I see what you're saying and agree that violent and property crimes represent a far greater threat to individuals than Carlos looking for work. But on a grand scale, allowing anyone in who wants to work will cripple our nation simply by virtue of the fact that there are far more workers immediately available than there are jobs for them to take and if Carlos comes, he brings his family too, which means greater social burdens.
Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for immigration to grow the economy and stay true to the nature of the US as a country of immigrants. However, the reason we have limits to the number we let in annually are to protect our economy from a massive, unmanageable influx of not just Mexicans but foreigners the world over. Since there is obviously a labor market for menial jobs, there has to be some way to find a compromise between unrestricted labor flow and closed borders.
Oh, I understand. Thanks for the clarification. I concur with your analysis and can't imagine that any sensible person would want our borders wholly literally closed. Still, we shouldn't try to diminish the fact that all immigrants entering the US illegally are criminals, no matter how upstanding of citizens they become or how well they assimilate or how important they are to our economy.
Of course, perhaps if those who can carry concealed legally were allowed to be armed on campus, Cho's carnage might have been reduced. Next time you're getting mugged, be sure to remind the criminal that he's in violation of gun laws.
I agree that the IRS and other executive departments must crack down, but the ACLU via obstructionist judges is making it a challenge. But how is it that gun control laws prevent illegal gun ownership? Do you think people who own guns illegally care about laws? The VT killer, Seung-Hui Cho, would have bought his guns illegally even if the gun laws that should have prevented him from purchasing were enforced.
How is your argument here logically different from this: Is saying "It's illegal," or "We need to enforce the law," really a good argument for having locks on the front doors of federal penitentiaries? I'd say the answer is an unequivocal "yes" to either question.
If illegals turn legal, they will not work for below average wages for long and in effect negate the reason why businesses hire them in the first place. I believe we should enforce the immigration laws we have on business owners and make it less attractive for a person to come over here. A business should fail, if it cannot pay an American a fair wage! This keeps business innovative and lean.
Almost forgot to mention this video SUCKS! Shame on the National Association of Public Affairs and Adminstration for giving this video award. I saw two other videos that were much better then on their homepage dealing with public policy issues.
Also, I am tired of hearing this is a liberal vs conservative issue. I am neither one. What I am is a person who believes in the rule of law, and all the parties that have participated in breaking the law should be brought to justice.
Yes, both Paul and Carlos are human beings, but human beings created laws for a reason: To be followed! This way society funcitons properly. If a law is not working then its CITIZENS need to change them. Until then foreigners coming to the USA illegally are that ILLEGAL! US sitizens that hire illegal immigrants are breaking the law! My parents use to tell me,"Son you might not like the law, but the law is the LAW!
Yes, we all deserve a better life ... unless of course, you are Paul. Paul doesn't deserve a better life because he is the evil one. Therefore Carlos should be able to do whatever he wants. Now let's hold hands and sing a happy song.
Most people from other countries wait years to enter legally, why should there be an exception? I also agree voting laws should be tighten. I didn't even have to show my ID to vote. I have to show my ID just to get a library card but not to vote? What's with that?
Such a naive & simplist view. Legal vs. Illegal. If people what them here legally, then change the laws. Until then, they're still illegal! We're paying for them every step of the way. Why should we have to work so our taxes can send their kids to school. They get freebie off our sweat. Of course, since they are here, i agree we should at least educate their kids else they just end up committing crime and in our jails.
the only reason we want mexicans on the other side of the border, is cause they dont pay taxes, and we're funding them with our money since they dont. its not as simple as your video you dickhead.
its not cause we simply dont want them to come over here just cause we dont. how can we support hungery and jobles people from mexico when we havent even got food and jobs for all of our people. there government should be responsble for there people, not our government.
I really need to know: is this video a joke? Please leave a comment here: tinyurl dot com/39wtje if anyone knows.
The "argument" provided is at a 2nd grade level; someone in the 3rd grade could point out things like there are billions of people worse off than "Carlos" and they can't all come here, or the role of the Mexican government in their situation.
I am simply stunned that no one took the author or the judges aside and told them how bad this makes them look. I'm embarassed for them.
Carlos needs to stay in his own country if he possibly can . He can come over here and work legally. If he wants to become a citizen (he is welcome)he needs to get in line. He should not sneak into this country because it is against our laws. If we go to his country and break the law we go to jail. U.S. imigration laws are there to protect its citizens from foreign invasion. If we are over run with another culture it will destroy ours.
Paul needs to remember how this culture was created. The Pilgrims didn't discover anything, because the Indians were here first. When the Indians got in the Pilgrims' way, the Pilgrims simply killed them. So, when you speak about being "overrun with another culture," what you are basically saying is "What comes around goes around."
I don't need your little history lesson. Sure we killed the indians and we killed the mexicans to. We are a nation of laws. Carlos needs to abide by our laws and become a citizen. NOW what is wrong with that. Nobody has to die and nobody is unwelcome. Are you trying to make someting of it? And by the way we didn't simply kill them.
...and I don't need your feeble attempt at a civics lesson. Laws are created and manipulated by those in power to service whatever the need for the day happens to be. (See: COMMUTATION.) We have a law in place to deal with this issue called the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, but nobody enforces it because it's not fiscally advantageous. And, by the way, we simply did kill them. Not all of them...just enough of them so they wouldn't keep us from doing what we wanted.
Sounds like you are a card carrying member of the hate America first croud. We simply killed some of the indians so lets let a hord of uneducated unvaccinated Mexicans just take up residency. Well there is only one thing that is good for and thats the democrat party. They will all be dependent on our social services. A bunch of welfare sucking government dependent democrats like YOU YOU FUCKIN MOONBAT
Excellent retort...did you think that up all by yourself? I am independent in both thought and political belief. By the way, we have plenty of unvaccinated U.S. citizens here...we don't have to import any. I love America...we deserved to be respected again. I criticize because I care, unlike "sheeple" who merely accept things because they are told what and how to think. If you think illegal immigration is our biggest problem, then you haven't been paying attention.
I don't want to argue either, and your right, I don't know what people suffer to to get a registration paper to search for work.
My ancestors came to the U.S. in the 1700's. Because I was born in the U.S.,I have been blessed with the RIGHT to look for work here. I don't have that right in any other county in the world. If I did without the proper papers, I would be thrown in jail, wouldn't I?
Seriously though, I would love to have a beer with you.
The house analogy has been used a couple times, but really doesn't make sense. Mexicans are coming across the border because people are hiring them. If they weren't being hired, they wouldn't be coming over here. In a sense, we are asking them to come here. If you want to stop paying them to come here, you should boycott all of the products they help produce. It may be hard to eat, however...
Bullshit, the work would get done, and wouldnt cost much more to consumers.
We barely had any Mexican illegals in my town until around 2001/02, when contractors started hiring them for construction. They justification was their cheap labor would make homes cheaper to build, but the cost of building per square foot and nearly doubled in the area since then.
Poor little naive schoolboy. Maybe when you grow up you will understand about laws, honor, and country. But that is presupposing that we will still have our country, thanks to uninformed people like you.
Why does not Paul want to cross the line back, hm? :) He is free to do it according to this vid. ... maybe he has some reason ;)

I mean, how could you turn away a homeless man. And he shouldn't have to ask to come in, so I guess you don't even bother with locks on your doors huh?
Or do you have different principles for your house than you do for your country?
No, of course you don't. You have convictions.

Join Numbersusa, read Vdare(dot)com
rocketsredglare101 2 years ago
@rocketsredglare101 Labor Unions with no strict government regulation of corporation produce outsourcing. The middle class is dwindling not because of immigration taking low paying jobs, it is because people like you and me blame settlers instead of demanding the government to rule for the people. We need to stop the widening of the economic gap between classes. Focus your energy into something more productive and effective, stop the hate on settlers.

JJMillertime 2 years ago
well said JJMillertime, Jon you really need to get a clue, I'm despertly looking for work here in Vegas, due to lay-offs because of lack of money coming into the company I used to work for. Every job I seek is offered to Mexicans before those with years of experiance. I'm even willing to work at fast food joints, but no all the managers want Mexicans over legal U.S. citizens, who by the way send most of their pay back to Mexico, making our economy worse and worse
VegasLady1970 2 years ago
why don't you blame the war in irak for making the economy worse instead of starving mexicans thats the real problem, this country has made a lot of mistakes and now they are paying for it,

carlos is hungry damn it! if you were hungry you would cross illegally too, waiting for legal documents is complicated too, getting work permit and visa is hard for a homeless person from a third world with no money, you think those documents are fast and easy? you dont care about anyone except yourself it seems, gee I wonder how you would think if you were on carlos side of the line.
fragolegirl2002 2 years ago
Have you been to mexico? Carlos isnt hungy, he just doesnt work or get educated, Carlos also has 4 kids and another one on the way. Maybe if Carlos stopped drinking and having sex like an animal, he wouldnt be required to work more. Even then, Carlos hardly works. What Carlos does like is that another country has free hand outs for him, because he can take US tax payer money. Carlos will never offer anything, he just wants an easy life at the expense of others.

Yes my grandparents came to this country before there were quotas, just like most people in the U.S. today.
LaPlaza56 2 years ago
Talk about strict immigration laws, are you familar with Mexican immigration laws. Try getting amnesty for violating Mexican immigration law no matter what country you're from. You can get into Mexico but you face summary deportation if break the law, i.e. no due process.
LaPlaza56 2 years ago
It is a cute cartoon though.
Although the U.S. has a better education system, Carlos's country has a much better education system than most countries in the world. Why is Carlos hungry? He live's in a country with more per capita agriculture land than almost every country in the world. More productive coastlines than most countries.

DewMan7474 3 years ago

Carlos' government seems to have a big problem with illegal immigration when it is people who want to live in Carlos' nation (and arent rich). So instead of Carlos "manning up" and working to improve his nation, he sneaks into Paul's country and hates on Paul's country's immigration laws. At the same time, Carlos waves Carlos' flag (not Paul's flag) when Carlos is in Paul's nation.

why doesnt mexico have the same policy for their country? I mean, why don't they ask for MEXICAN citizenship as do americans whenever someone from another country comes over? Is it because this nation thinks that they own every other country out there? Why is it so easy for Americans to go to the 'good' part of Mexico for vacation, just by saying they are citizens of the US? Does every one have to be a citizen of the US to be allowed into other countries with no problems? This is somewhat unfair

arubberball 2 years ago
Yep that is the problem, anyone who belives they can just decide what laws they want to follow and those they don't. I used the analogy of the stop sign because simple illegal entry is only a low level federal misdemenor. But those that believe they chose which laws to follow will break other laws too. 20% of the inmates in federal prison are illegal aliens and well over 200,000 illegal aliens are in state and local prisons for for other than immigration violations. Image the cost of custody

Another factor that scares those in power is the idea of a majority Hispanic US population. The mandatory purchase of goods and services is why I'd prefer a national sales tax to the current income tax model. There are so many oppressed around the world. What happens when they all come here?
USAP8riot 4 years ago

USAP8riot 4 years ago
The principle is sound in theory, but Utopian in practice. By the time the labor market was sufficiently saturated to make coming here preclusive, we would have an unmanageably massive population and unemployment in the double digits. Also, you're making the naive assumption that jobs are the only thing that would attract foreigners to the US. How about freedom from oppression?
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Prisons: I'm not sure how many convicts can afford fines to support prisons. They're not typically rolling in dough, you know. And if they do have wealth, I'd rather see it go to those individuals against whom they committed the crime. Even if you favor keeping a criminal at work in prison his whole life as a "slave" of the state, he still won't generate much more income than is necessary to cover his incarceration costs.
USAP8riot 4 years ago

USAP8riot 4 years ago
True, but what happens to our society and our economy when you allow anyone on the planet who's "peaceful" to flood unrestricted into our country? To use an analogy, I can run a mile today and 2 miles next week, etc, progressively increasing over time up to the point where I will be in shape to run a marathon. But tell me to run the marathon tomorrow with no training and I'll probably die. So it goes with the growth of the economy through gradually increased labor influx.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Even as a government employee myself, I agree that we should keep government out of the economy whenever possible. But in a purely libertarian system, we would rely solely on the threat of amercement to deter corporations from polluting or committing some other socially damaging activity. The problem is that corporations are profit-driven and if the costs of following the rules are higher than the losses from potential litigation, they will take their chances to the chagrin of the populace.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
It doesn't just "seem" like there are a lot of illegals, there ARE a lot. Most estimates I've read put the number in the area of 15 million. I won't argue that the economy is absorbing them rather well. In fact, I'd say their role in the economy is the only grounds for allowing them to stay under a temporary workers program. It's the social cost (lost income tax revenue and strain on schools and hospitals) that I'm more concerned with.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Are you an economist, a libertarian, or both? I agree that unrestricted flow of goods and labor yields the greatest fiscal benefit (how could I not), but shouldn't other factors be considered (ie: environment, control of the rate of introduction of competition so US corporations can have some time to adapt) that might justify some semblance of regulation? I'm with you ideologically, but we have to be realistic.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Really good points, Ory. But there still has to be some semblance of regulation of the inflow of personnel both for the saturation issue I alluded to and for security reasons.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
I see what you're saying and agree that violent and property crimes represent a far greater threat to individuals than Carlos looking for work. But on a grand scale, allowing anyone in who wants to work will cripple our nation simply by virtue of the fact that there are far more workers immediately available than there are jobs for them to take and if Carlos comes, he brings his family too, which means greater social burdens.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for immigration to grow the economy and stay true to the nature of the US as a country of immigrants. However, the reason we have limits to the number we let in annually are to protect our economy from a massive, unmanageable influx of not just Mexicans but foreigners the world over. Since there is obviously a labor market for menial jobs, there has to be some way to find a compromise between unrestricted labor flow and closed borders.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Oh, I understand. Thanks for the clarification. I concur with your analysis and can't imagine that any sensible person would want our borders wholly literally closed. Still, we shouldn't try to diminish the fact that all immigrants entering the US illegally are criminals, no matter how upstanding of citizens they become or how well they assimilate or how important they are to our economy.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
Of course, perhaps if those who can carry concealed legally were allowed to be armed on campus, Cho's carnage might have been reduced. Next time you're getting mugged, be sure to remind the criminal that he's in violation of gun laws.
USAP8riot 4 years ago
I agree that the IRS and other executive departments must crack down, but the ACLU via obstructionist judges is making it a challenge. But how is it that gun control laws prevent illegal gun ownership? Do you think people who own guns illegally care about laws? The VT killer, Seung-Hui Cho, would have bought his guns illegally even if the gun laws that should have prevented him from purchasing were enforced.
USAP8riot 4 years ago

I saw two other videos that were much better then on their homepage dealing with public policy issues.
chalk20 4 years ago
Also, I am tired of hearing this is a liberal vs conservative issue. I am neither one. What I am is a person who believes in the rule of law, and all the parties that have participated in breaking the law should be brought to justice.
chalk20 4 years ago

Now let's hold hands and sing a happy song.

we all disagree with that... but remember politicians know that is cheaper and best to the US to have illegal aliens working for americans

Most people from other countries wait years to enter legally, why should there be an exception? I also agree voting laws should be tighten. I didn't even have to show my ID to vote. I have to show my ID just to get a library card but not to vote? What's with that?
stormbugs 4 years ago

Carlos needs to hold his own government accountable and not me for its corruption and repeated failures.
putittogether 4 years ago
Carlos needs to stay in his own country if he possibly can . He can come over here and work legally. If he wants to become a citizen (he is welcome)he needs to get in line. He should not sneak into this country because it is against our laws. If we go to his country and break the law we go to jail. U.S. imigration laws are there to protect its citizens from foreign invasion. If we are over run with another culture it will destroy ours.
micsc50 4 years ago
Paul needs to remember how this culture was created. The Pilgrims didn't discover anything, because the Indians were here first. When the Indians got in the Pilgrims' way, the Pilgrims simply killed them. So, when you speak about being "overrun with another culture," what you are basically saying is "What comes around goes around."
ntruick 4 years ago
I don't need your little history lesson. Sure we killed the indians and we killed the mexicans to. We are a nation of laws. Carlos needs to abide by our laws and become a citizen. NOW what is wrong with that. Nobody has to die and nobody is unwelcome. Are you trying to make someting of it? And by the way we didn't simply kill them.
micsc50 4 years ago
...and I don't need your feeble attempt at a civics lesson. Not all of them...just enough of them so they wouldn't keep us from doing what we wanted.
ntruick 4 years ago
Sounds like you are a card carrying member of the hate America first croud. We simply killed some of the indians so lets let a hord of uneducated unvaccinated Mexicans just take up residency. Well there is only one thing that is good for and thats the democrat party. They will all be dependent on our social services. A bunch of welfare sucking government dependent democrats like YOU YOU FUCKIN MOONBAT
micsc50 4 years ago
Excellent retort...did you think that up all by yourself? I am independent in both thought and political belief. By the way, we have plenty of unvaccinated U.S. citizens here...we don't have to import any. I love America...we deserved to be respected again. I criticize because I care, unlike "sheeple" who merely accept things because they are told what and how to think. If you think illegal immigration is our biggest problem, then you haven't been paying attention.

THE FEDERAL and STATE GOVERNMENT IS BROKEN!!
The Citizens of the United States NEED to FIX IT !!
I do not dought you love this country.
But in the BIG Picture,
What made this country TRULY Great?
And what do we have to do to keep it great?
Sincerely,D

This is also substantiated by people who have been called to jury duty
(taken from the voter registration roles) in Multnomah County, (Portland) OR,
who asked to be excused because they are not citizens. By the way, that's a Felony.
To make it worse, after confessing in open court that they are here illegally,
and have committed a felony by registering to vote(and maybe actually voting)
they are not arrested. The courts are also showing a complete disregard for the law.

THE FEDERAL and STATE GOVERNMENT IS BROKEN!!
By allowing and even encouraging people to continue to break the law.
In Portland, OR- the mayor, (a former police chief),
does things that are in direct violation of Fed law
by supporting the activities of those who are in this country illegally.
The Governor and Sec of State turn a blind eye to voter fraud,
that is encouraged by the legislature who passed laws allowing
people to register and vote without proof of citizenship.
gr8alias 4 years ago
I don't want to argue either, and your right, I don't know what people suffer to to get a registration paper to search for work.
My ancestors came to the U.S. in the 1700's. Because I was born in the U.S.,I have been blessed with the RIGHT to look for work here. I don't have that right in any other county in the world. If I did without the proper papers, I would be thrown in jail, wouldn't I?
Seriously though, I would love to have a beer with you.
Sincerely, D

gr8alias 4 years ago
The house analogy has been used a couple times, but really doesn't make sense. Mexicans are coming across the border because people are hiring them. If they weren't being hired, they wouldn't be coming over here. In a sense, we are asking them to come here. If you want to stop paying them to come here, you should boycott all of the products they help produce. It may be hard to eat, however...
jonhickey 4 years ago
Bullshit, the work would get done, and wouldnt cost much more to consumers.
We barely had any Mexican illegals in my town until around 2001/02, when contractors started hiring them for construction. They justification was their cheap labor would make homes cheaper to build, but the cost of building per square foot and nearly doubled in the area since then.
