I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
Have you made a new profile... name it something like OC and then hit save. If that doesn't work I don't know what, but it could be that AGP version is somehow different to the PCI-E version. Also make sure you have the latest atitool.
The problem was bios to drivers related lol. The highest i got my card to completely stable was 840/750. Amazed the hell out of me too. But the pci (not pci-e) bandwith capped the performance increase at 750/680 so anything further did nothing with frames per second. But i could finally max out aa but af killed this card lol.
I now run a 9800gtx and performance between the two was galaxys apart as it should be lol.
FIRST OFF,u have a agp card,i have the same card on pci x16 and with 305 watts of power and in WoW i get like 70-90FPS in the laggiest places. i time in sfk i was getting like 325FPS,lol pci e is way better, can transfer data way faster.
Ok... i dont see your point, but i know PCI-E is much better of a standard than AGP and has a future unlike AGP. I am at the moment running a 8600GTS PCI-E and plan on getting a 9600GT or 9800GT...
it was a 400w silvershield with a 18A 12V rail... Yea this is quite a power hungry card for such a low end card but it depends on the rest of the system...
most likely but i dont suggest you get a new psu for just this card... rather get a low powered 8600 GT which will easily outperform this and uses like half the power...
yea you know when i was buying this card i didnt read too many reviews and comparisons so i didnt know that i should have really bought 2600xt or something... well now i have a 8600Gts might get a 9600 gt or gso soon
Is it normal for this card to mess up direct X for everything? It's more useless than a graphics card you'd find in a dump. I actually tried one that was dumped and it played a hell of a lot more games than this one did.
Ok, is anyone using the HD 2400 Pro 256 MB AGP version? If so, what are the latets drivers for it? The ATI website only has the PCI-E version. Maybe i should go with the Omega drivers? Any help appreciated.

I own an Radeon HD 2400 Pro (AGP) card and it is the worst graphics card I've ever owned.
The drivers suck so badly it struggles to play video, without having a stuttering fit. I've had so many bloody issues with this card it is a fuckin' joke. In Ubuntu installing the drivers causes a black screen of death upon restart! In Xp, don't even bother and in Vista, 3D apps and video sucks and isn't worth using. ATi's drivers suck!
I have a problem. i have bought this card, if I try to start a videogame, me pc crashes so goes out in 1 second and then restarts. But it gets more wired, I can play COD 1, but no other games. What can this be???
Problem was something in my register, but I have a different problem at the moment, I have a BSOD after I let my pc fix after a Trojan horse was in my windowsfiles. If I change my graphics form the original 1024 x 768, like in a game where my graphics have to be ajusted, I have a BSOD, I'll post a video on my channel, just look at it...
i got a 400W, but you might be able to bump up the core a little more. My memory artifacts at around 270mhz and bsod's in games so i left it at 259mhz.
I have the PCI version too, and it's been 7 months since you made this comment that I'm replying to. So have you tried using ati tools, if so, has it worked becuase it seems like a lot of other people have trouble overclocking this. Including me, help will be appreciated.
overclocking on pci is a bit tricky task.i had to extract the bios ,change its clock, fan and voltage settings and then reflash it.took quiet some time but was worth it.
it isn't that hard. All you need to do is to ease the overclock up by small increments. And i dont reccomend using Catalyst ovedrive since its quite limited. Instead use the latest version (b4 or b3) of atitool.
I got mine up to 759 Mhz core and 458mhz memory as you can see in the video, but mine doesn't run as hot as yours since it idles around 41-43 C and load is around 65C. This is do to quite good case cooling.
how do you use ati tool, i've attempted to use it and install twice but its confusing to me because I tried or I think I tried overclocking the same card but instead it crashed. I've overclocked my cpu but rivatuner deosn't support this card.

basically what it does is make ur graphics card better but it over heats it faster then normal
lilmatsi95ACOG 2 years ago
It's the process of getting some nails , hitting some on the casing and hanging multiple wall clocks and hanging em.
chamath1985 2 years ago
I think high compression, super charger, and laughing gas in a 4 cylinder would be a better analogy. It'll do it, but for how long?
crazydriver1978 2 years ago
It's taking your clock's motor off and replacing it with a V8 engine.
chamath1985 2 years ago
hey man, I got a question, do I need to change the card's cooling for this OC? I got the same card only different company and with 512Mb.
Cheers :)

It's called ATI Tool, free download, currently it's 0.27 beta 4 I think
very stable and works with NVIDIA cards too, it's a few megabyetes, far less than nTune

I'm using the 2400 HD PRO version. I can overclocked using ati tray tools, but actually haven't done it yet.
Btw just to clear something up, the 2400 hd pro card is not GDDR2, rather its DDR2.
I am using the PCI Version of the 2400 card btw.

I used Riva Tuner, benchmarked it, then over clocked it then benchmarked it, heres what I got. This is my first over clock, is it decent?
ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro : Before 53fps After 61fps
Over clocked 650 to 750MHz gpu
Over clocked 500 to 540.000MHz
(1080.000MHzeffective)
I could try for more, but I don't have any frame issues on team fortress 2 now so im happy with it.
