My brother is in his mid thirties, and I showed this to him because I remember that he was terrified of this when he was little. He actually jumped when the dummy sad "Abra". I kinda felt bad after laughing about it because the look on his face was priceless (I saw that little kid again).
I saw this when I was about six, at my grandmas house.Scared me so bad I was unable to move. I heard somewhere that due to some parental bitching, this trailer was taken off the air. Dunno if that is true or not.The PHANTASM trailer had the same effect on me,Ditto SUSPIRIA. They just dont make em like that anymore.
The movie really isn't half as creepy as this trailer! I just rented it on netflix and couldn't help sitting in front of the tv and repeating the trailer (wishing it was the movie...lol...and that it was longer) I keep wanting the last part to be "magic is fun....when you're dead" instead of "we're dead" but oh well. :-P
Hopkins plays a ventriloquist with a split personality. Gradually, his dummy (named Fats) takes over his life & commands him to murder (his agent, his lover's husband).
Holy crap, it did me too. I was sitting there, all happy and stuff, eating my popcorn, enjoying the late movie (only one was on, as there were only three channel on TV then) after mom and dad went to bed and then BAM! This thing came on and tore my widdle soul out! Haha. After that, I'd run and turn the sound down when the commercials came on so I didn't have to hear it if it came on again. Over on IMDB there are plenty relating how their psyche was torn out by this.
lmao it used to scare me too when i was like 6 lmao.. but then another one came out when i was 14 and me and my girlfriend watched it at her house and we didnt even finish the movie because we ended up fucking :D lmao
I saw this only one time when I was a kid. It came on at 8:59 and it was a school night. I was sitting right in front of the TV and for the first second or so I thought this was going to be a funny commercial. When it was over, Dad said "Bed".
Yeah... no sleep that night. That night a certain dummy moved in our house and set up shop under my bed for a few years. Scary.
You cannot add in your description a movie that came out many years after "Magic". It's really stupid!

I think anyone ,in our age bracket, was traumatized more by the trailer than the movie itself. LOL

I can't understand what he's saying in the second verse. "Hocus pocus, we take her to bed?" and then something ending with "we're dead."
