ipad v.s kindle

I don't want gaming on my e reader...I want books. I play games on my PC or games consols. Also, just reading is fine, I don't have a 3 second attention span like most gen y's.

you try reading a book on the iPad for hours and see if your eyes don't hurt. Oh, and iPad will be toast if you're out in the sun with it.

Why wouldn't you be? It's supposed to be a portable device, I don't see why you can't use that portability outside. It is after all, supposed to be the leisure tool used anywhere, correct?

Kindle is by far the best at what it does.

The iPad and Kindle are a completely different devices!! The Kindle is for E-Books, while iPad is a media device, much like a iPod touch....

Kindle is for one purpose.. Ipad.. well im not sure what its purpose is yet.. It looks cool, but its an ergonomic failure as far im concerned

The kindle was not designed to play games or videos! It was not made to be an ipad-like device. Comparing the two is stupid. Compare what they have in common which is the ability to read books. The kindle has a specially designed screen that mimics the appearance of paper, whereas the ipad is a bright screen. Imagine reading an entire book on a laptop. Your eyes would suffer. So, comparing the only thing they have in common, the kindle is far more superior.

@TheWanderingNinja I agree :) If you love to read and especially if you travel at all the kindle is the one to have. Is great to read during bright of day or at night in bed..either way beat hands down ipad (for reading a book)
