  • Look at 1:18 where Bobby Gross, also 6'6" tall and really quick, is right with Dr. J. but still gets dunked on with ease. Dr. J is the most dominant small forward ever when it came to finishing on the break and going to the hoop in the half court. He could get up so quick, hang and then finish soooo strong. Too bad there isn't more footage of the Dr. J in his prime in the ABA. What a great player!

  • Thumbs up if "Dr.J" reminds you of Denzel Washington :)

  • Look at his stats sometime, very impressive, especially in the ABA, where he averaged 33 points and 20 rebounds his first season in the playoffs! 50% shooter for his career

  • the biggest damn hands for his size

  • awesome video man....J and D. Thompson were the most exciting to watch.

  • Lol its funny how they say Jordan was the best but he models almost every aspect of his game from Dr. J . just look back at the moves (cradle dunk -actually the way he dunks also)

  • Audio sucks. Just turn it off. FU to those that don't agree.

  • @ 1:38 the best move ever seen in a bb court

    .

  • hey Dr J don't leave us alone with lebron, we need you smooth moove again & again

    thanks

  • I'm a huge Celtics fan but I always had great respect for the Sixers especially Dr.J. His one-handed reverse layup behind the backboard in the Finals vs the Lakers was the greatest layup of all time.

  • @BigTimePride That's a fact.

  • 2:42 ridiculous move

  • 2:14 ridiculous move...Dr. J the best all time!

  • nice video, Falk.

    great mix

  • Good choice for the song. Dr. J is the best dunker at his time!

  • could u please tell me how u got these clips

  • Video ruined with crap music.

  • If DR J would had good shooting ability he would the greatest of all-time

  • this video is just nba superstars with different music over the top

  • Dr. J lives in my city

  • are those really Dr.J's sons in the beginning like some people said in the comments?

  • what music is this?

  • the original vince carter

  • dr j was b4 his time.

  • I love how ,at about 2:28, you can see people in the background stand up, as the good Doctor soars to the basket, with looks on theirs faces that say ," Holy Shit!!" falkner 23, Terrific video dude.

  • 2:14 HOLY SHIT red bull gives you wings

  • dr j man

its funny watchin this video how he just looks like a man among boys

all the great athletes or great players always seem like they can do whatever the funk they want out there to these other PROFESSIONAL players (AKA the best in the world)

and they STILL look like a man among boys playing against this competition, its just insane

all the greats, jordan, magic, bird, kareem, dr j, barkley, wade, kobe, lebron, chris paul, paul pierce, yao ming, dwight howard, etc

  • nice mix!

    he had a great finger-roll!

  • are u kidding me man u diss are whole race and think u with dr.j well reality check bruh hes black aswell so get the fuck outta here

  • hey falkner 23.. thats a great mix... but id like to know from who is the music in the video?

  • the song is jay-z heart of a city

  • thanks man i feel this music gives the mix a great feel

  • 2:15 raw elevation

  • god jul

  • god jul

  • Awesome video. Thanks for sharing it. I'm not sure whether anybody mentioned it, but the kids at the begining of the clip are Dr. J's.

  • Call dat pack that James Worthy zone 6 Julius Erving, Sat my Donk on Julius Erving, Ride thru the 6 like george gervin, you got them birds i want a few, first, ima drop a deuce homie want 12, I want 30, boy dats 42

  • great video man, 5 stars!

  • the kid who was playing was not Dr.J because Dr.J was already playing when the colors just came up

  • its kool man i already knew that the kids just there 2 show dr.js legendary moves inspiring everyone & showing the kid doing dr.j type moves

  • Best erving mix ever

  • Jessica4cute Thumper Newman 1 of the top 5 players of all-time ?? Maybe top 10

  • sixers was a legend team, but now they suck!

  • favorite player ever. He was a baller and brought philly up near the top of the league. One of the only times philly sports were there

  • who has a alltime top 3 DOCTOR J favorite SHOT,DUNK and or MOVE.....ABA or NBA

  • i heard that him nd larry bird got into a fist fight one time, nd the next game larry hit a nice shot nd dr. j gave him a high five going back down the court i mean thts respect

  • Great video! DRJ moves so smoothly. People in the US who actually saw DRJ play ... you are so lucky!

  • Falkner 23, you don't know what you've done for me with this tribute to my all-time favorite player, Julius Erving. Being from "The City of Brotherly Love (ha!) ", Doc was our hero, he was street ball integrated with the fundamentals, the Miles Davis of the hardwood, the Birth of the Cool, New York ghetto with character, the Doctor. I was honored to see him in his prime, and I tell people all the time that he could've scored 30 a game in his sleep, but he was a team ballplayer, so he changed ...

  • ... his game for the 76ers when he came to Philly because we already had two all-stars and a good team when he got here: Henry Bibby, World B. Free, Steve Mix, Doug Collins, George McGinnis, Darryl Dawkins, Joe Bryant, Harvey Catchings and Caldwell Jones. Doc made us a contender, and though he only won one title in '83, he led us to the Finals four times, while modernizing the game of basketball that led to an influx of stars like 'Nique, Clyde and MJ. Jay and Julius a perfect combination. One.

  • Back in the '70's my dad made sure that we got to the Spectrum early just to see the lay-up line, it was better than some of the Dunk Contest that I've witnessed! Between Doc, World (then Lloyd Free) , Chocolate Thunder, Harvey Catchings and Joe Bryant (Kobe's dad had some hops too) , you got a show!

  • I saw Dr. J get a block shot, rebound and assist in one play while in the air. SIC!!!!!!

  • thats not actually dr j in the begining

  • yea i figured that too

but i like it as the intro

  • Those are his sons, one is dead, R.I.P.

  • i have dr j's autograph from when he played for the squires

  • ever check out it's value on ebay?

  • the ABA was on the same leval with the nba....in the 1st year after the merger 4 of the top 10 scoreers were former aba players and 10 former aba players were all stars also much of what the NBa does now was started in the ABA including the 3-pointer, slam dunk contest, and the way down to the dance teams

  • nice vid

  • Great Vid! I wonder how much Dr. J's stats would've been had he not played in the ABA first.

  • ye dr.j should have played in the NBA is whole career he would of posted sum crazy numbers like he put up in the ABA

  • its the same with connie hawkins who was banned from the nba & by the time he got 2 the NBA he had all his prime years wasted but he still had something left 2 show the NBA

  • connie hawkins started playing in the nba when he was like 25. so his prime years werent gone. but i can see your point

  • true that, doc revived our city for 11 years, everybody wanted to be doc, black,white,chinese,spanish..he broke that racial barrier in our playgrounds and the world. today nba players are told how to be. but doc was a true player and human on his own merit, what you see is what you what get from doc he wasnt fake..i miss his game.

  • @ALEX2363 you r right, i missed his game 2 :)
