  • I've already did.

Thanks for being quite a considered soul. :)

  • WOW that was awesome you did a really good job at making this vid it must have taken you a long time 5/5 i really hope you win the jazergames contest because this vid was genius

  • o.o Seeing the WMM there in the description surprised me a little bit.... Then I saw Vegas Pro. XD

I'm gunna be honest though... The beginning really hooked me in, but sadly the clips got boring and I started reading the description. D=

All in all, the way you put the audio together was really nice... ^_^

I liked the clips up to about 40 seconds... And honestly (again) some of the effects bothered me a little, but that's just my opinion since I'm so used to 'Fade' I suppose.... 4/5. =3

  • naughty dog and insomniac for life!!!

  • WOW! I LOVE JACK AND DAXTER SO MUCH!

  • Well, you definitely used the layered audio to the right effect. But I don't know, I wasn't really feeling the video. Maybe it's just because you're probably still experimenting around on the new software. Well, the beginning was good, and I can definitely see some of the Sony Vegas effects being used by you to great effect in the future (and here), but after the slow part in the middle, it kinda went downhill for me. Ah well, it was still fun to watch.

  • I assume it's a hit and miss when it comes to the audio parts being played over the song. Some people tend to like it while others don't. Well everyone's a critic when it comes to having an opinion, and I can be too. :P

Most of the work was done with Movie Maker, but little touch-ups was done with Vegas and since I'm new to the program, I didn't want to go extremely overboard with the effects. Well at least you still enjoyed the video, even if there were a few flaws with it.

  • From 1:24 to 1:35 was put together really well with the music and therefore became emotional. Well at least for someone like me who really enjoys the series. Good job

  • When editing that part of that song, I felt some quite heavy emotion. So, it became appropriate for the clips and the audio to be put over that part of the song.

    Thanks for the comment :)

  • i used Vegas pro for my newest vid. i love it. way better then WMM. i dont know how to work it all but i do love the cooleo effects i can do with it. the one vid i have in the contest is made with WMM. to let you know Vegas pro is $600!!!!!!

  • Wow, Vegas pro is truly advanced with it's many options and expensive price. Is the latest version worth $600? Just asking because I'm quite new with the Vegas programs.

WMM may be a basic editing program, but I am sure you can pull out some really good videos if you have the time and patience. :)

  • $600? ...I thought it was $120! Maybe I was looking at 8.0's tag... -ponders-

Well, Platinum's $90 (just checked) at the least, and I saw a "Platinum Pro Pack" for $120 (probably the one I was thinking of earlier), so if you want a comprimise between the two, that's probably the best deal. But $600...? Yeash!

    -AnimeFan18point0

  • Epic video!

  • You got Vegas now? Congrats!

This AMV was good! The clip timing went well with the song beat and you restrained from going into "effect overload" like most new users of Vegas do (including myself when I got to play with 8.0's trial for awhile... -_-'). Now I'm really looking forward to what you come out with (especially concerning R@C vids)!

    -AnimeFan18point0

P.S. How much does 9.0 cost? (Or 8.0, if you know it as well.) I'm saving to buy it, so I need to know. Thanks!

  • lol I should of mentioned in the description that I have the free trial version of Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. So therefore, I can't help you with telling you the price for the latest version.

But comparing Vegas to Movie Maker, I still like using Movie Maker still it's easier to edit, but Vegas Pro is good for it's many special effects and better saving formats.

Glad you really liked the AMV and thanks!

  • Oh... Thanks anyway. Maybe I should get 9.0's trial so I can finish the AMV I started in 8.0's trial. Or maybe so I can start a new one and completely forget about the old one. (XD)

Heh, that's what I thought at first, but after learning how to use 8.0 properly, it's actually MUCH easier than WMM in terms of aligning clips to match song beats. (Not to mention that if you cut off too much of a clip, you can simply drag the clips length to regain it-something you can't do in WMM).

  • lol you got a good point there about the trimming clip part. It is more convenient on Vegas Pro rather than on Movie Maker. But for now, with someone who isn't made out of a million dollars, I still stick with Movie Maker as my basic editor. After all, it doesn't really matter what program you use so as long as you make great and entertaining videos with it. :D

  • True...I've seen some good videos made with WMM. But I checked out Vegas 9.0 Platinum (not pro), and it seems to have most (if not all) of the features I need from 8.0 at only about 90 bucks! That's pretty cheap compared to others (9.0 Pro is 120-something in stores, 300-something online, and After Effects is a whoping1000 dollars! O.o).

Either way, I'm still looking forward to what you come out with using you trial. Your editing skills+awesome software=soon-to-be-kickass videos! :D

  • I know, I'm doing the same thing. Useing the Vegas 9 Trail. It's Harder to use but that because you can do so much more with it.

  • either 1st 2nd or 3rd tipsy xD it'll be ... likely 2nd place like what you got last time xDDDD or 1st xD

  • Pure epicness!!

  • well, the music isn't exactly my genre, even though certain parts are epic (like the "father..." part). In any case, there is no way one can't see it's awesomely well edited.

if I can give you a suggestion, as a fellow amv-maker: you should use the transition called "Dissolve" more often. it's the best transition I've ever seen, and it gives the transition from scene to scene more continuity and flowingness, at least imho.

    again, great job! ^^

  • I understand that dance/techno isn't everyone's cup of tea, but editing dance music like that can be easy to make the song shorter. :P

Well majority of my editing was done with Windows Movie Maker and the back up scenes were done in Vegas Pro 9.0. I don't remember seeing any dissolve transitions in MM, but in the next video I'll be making, I'll use it.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments :D

  • I think it's called Fade in movie maker.... =3

    Good video by the way, 4/5 because I didn't feel some of the transitions fit... ^^;;

  • fade, is it? thanks. *takes notes*

another little step towards mastering english! *raises flag*

  • that's odd °_° it's supposed to be there, really. maybe it's not called "dissolve" (I'm italian and thus don't know the english/american commands for movie maker) but, BECAUSE I'm italian, I'm sure the command is there. We usually get as less as we can from other countries' programs and games XDDDD

    you're very welcome! ^_^

  • Very good. 10/10
