As far as attacking at night, it was virtually impossible with the tech at the time to coordinate the air drop of thousands of paratroopers as a nighttime op. Normandy was equal parts perfect timing by the invading forces and blundering by German defenders.

After all the defeats in the Pacific the Japanese were asked to surrender, their response was to hand spears to school kids to prepare to repel an invasion. There were millions of Soldiers on Japan's main islands. If Iwo Jima and other islands were any indicator, an invasion of Japan would have been a bloodbath for both sides, the A-Bombs actually saved lives.

Interesting that you direct so much credit to the UK, yet the Battle Of Britain was fought by pilots from all over the world, 574 of them died and among the dead were pilots from New Zealand, Czechoslovakia, Poland, South Africa, Canada, Ireland, Australia, France, Jamaica, Belgium, U.S., Palestine, South Rhodesian.
Also, the US and France supplied some of the planes that fought in that battle.
After the BoB, many of the small arms carried ashore by British troops on D-Day, and many of the tanks used by UK in the European Campaign came from U.S. factories. After the equipment losses of the UK at Dunkirque, were it not for the assistance of other nations, the UK troops would have been throwing rocks for the duration of the war.

The people in it are all place holders that work there, and the anchor is, I believe, the wife of Scot Laney, the founder of the National Combat History Archive and the CEO of Lucky Forward Films, the guys that made This is War: Memories of Iraq. Not a bad effort and I'm sure if it seems to get enough attention you'll see it blown up to a regular production.
This video is an indictment of our drive by media today. In this age of 24 hour news and their battles for ratings, they overanaylze EVERYTHING. The fact is this the victory was a combined effort yes,but if those ships had fallen into JAP/GERMAN hands,USA would have been crushed like a fly.

Interesting that you direct so much credit to the UK, yet the Battle Of Britain was fought by pilots from all over the world, 574 of them died and among the dead were pilots from New Zealand, Czechoslovakia, Poland, South Africa, Canada, Ireland, Australia, France, Jamaica, Belgium, U.S., Palestine, South Rhodesian.
Also, the US and France supplied some of the planes that fought in that battle.

After the BoB, many of the small arms carried ashore by British troops on D-Day, and many of the tanks used by UK in the European Campaign came from U.S. factories. After the equipment losses of the UK at Dunkirque, were it not for the assistance of other nations, the UK troops would have been throwing rocks for the duration of the war.

It's liberalism in general. If you don't believe me, look at the liberal bias in American textbooks. We are taught to emphasize on the negatives, yet barely mention America's success. On the other side of the coin, conservative bias is too positive.
Let me give you people an example story:
An ambulance driver is taking a woman to the hospital and runs over two people. Liberal news would only report the deaths of the two pedestrians. Conservative news would only report the woman being saved.

The real question is what if todays liberal media existed in 1944 with todays modern technology. It would be kind of like 9/11 in the sense that we were attacked,(Pearl Harbor, World Trade Center), which warranted war, and at the same time a murderous dictator,(Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein),carries out war and atrocities against mankind. Now granted Saddam was no Hitler in that he was'nt taking down country after country. Still the same, we would be speaking German if our media were around then.

In a way i agree. i think everyone should learn to honor their enemies when they die for their country. We (The US) fought for our country and Allies, same with the British, Canada, France, Russia and etc. The Germans, Italians, and Japanese fought for what they believed like us. Except for the allies and enemies that are pshycos or fools. We should keep in mind that we shouldnt blame all of the Nazis, Italians, or Japanese Soldiers. We should blame their "Fathers". Hitler, Tojo and Mussolini.

Not getting it. That reporter in the beginning didn't seem exactly shocked by the thousands of dead bodies in the water, the men being blown up, and the soldiers unable to leave their boats without being riddled with bullets. Not exactly realistic.

This is a pretty accurate appraisal of How Normandy would have been reported.
Had we gone into Irag with as much force we would have been done a long time ago. But politicians lost their desire to do what is sometimes necessary during the Vietnam war. The US won every major battle in Vietnam but the press portrayed every battle as a loss if a single US soldier died.
The left only believes in killing when there targets are people who disagree with them.

This video reminds me of all our terrific soldiers and what they have been up against with our War on Terror. On the one hand, the Islamo-Fascists who they are defeating every day on the battlefield. But the much more dangerous enemy is back here, at home. The mainstream "old" media has to be defeated by the NEW media and that fight needs to be carried out each and every day by "troopers" at the grassroots level, US!

Found out the following about this vid: It is a plot script that was shot by the people that publish Thecombatreportdotcom. The people in it are all place holders that work there, and the anchor is, I believe, the wife of Scot Laney, the founder of the National Combat History Archive and the CEO of Lucky Forward Films, the guys that made This is War: Memories of Iraq. Not a bad effort and I'm sure if it seems to get enough attention you'll see it blown up to a regular production.

This video is an indictment of our drive by media today. In this age of 24 hour news and their battles for ratings, they overanaylze EVERYTHING. Instead of unbiased reporting, we get pundits and their opinions and "experts" who play with the facts. While the acting on this video isn't stellar, it does show what type of "reporting" we are subjected to daily. It shows why people turn to the internet more and more over tv news.

How many Americans died on D-Day? 2,000? 3,000? Far less than Antietam were around 23,000 or 28,000 died.
