  • Oh!

    So the tables are turned.

Now someone has to step up and debunk your poltergeist video using a moving camera.

    Clever!

Glad to see this got posted. I miss you!

  • we want you back

  • You haven't uploaded anything in a while, are you done making videos?

  • the crazy ex-girlfriend strikes again

  • This is a classic example of an extremely rare haunting phenomenon called the tidygeist. We had one in our house when I was a kid but once I left home it didn't follow me.

  • LOL, very impressive Cap'n D.

  • That was amazing! Awesome and flawless editing job on this!

  • Awsome love ur videos please make more and I'm 11

  • I wish i could give you a million views cap :c

  • Pwease make more videos. :(

  • Great work Captain D! You never fail to entertain!

While I think I figured out how the room "cleaned itself" the second time, the first time just has me stumped!

  • @LittleJimmy835 I am just the opposite I think I have the first one figured out but can really only guess on the second one.

  • @XBLMastrodicasa All right, maybe we can work together to figure out how he did it then!

For the second time the room is clean, he would have taken a picture of the clean room, and then composited that image over the empty room, using motion tracking software to keep the picture in the right spot whenever the camera moves.

But as for how he managed to to leave the room dirty, then walk back in with it clean IN ONE TAKE , you've got me stuffed.

  • @LittleJimmy835

I think he simply had one or two accomplices hiding in the closet just off frame to the right to put things back behind him. There's 10 full seconds for them to put stuff back in a hurry. (I think when he said "did you cut?" it was to stall for time) Also notice that not everything was put back in the same way, some new items were added, and some items weren't put back at all. I think he set his tripod down at 3:04 to help make the shot more stable for the end shot.

  • Hilarious, Captain D!

  • Share Captain D. One of the most underrated series on youtube IMO. The more viewers, the more episodes as well, I would imagine...

  • OUTSTANDING!!! Captain D that was the best!!!!

  • We want new episodes.

  • SO Captain D discovered an Ondageist? Man, I wish I had one of those in my house...

  • Best poltergeist ever! ;-)

  • Amazing come back captain D

  • haha. that was cool.

  • I meant maken. Stupid phone!

  • Glad to see your lament videos again CD. Just don't leave us hangen.

  • Maybe I can get one to clean my kitchen.

  • Well that's nice for a change a poltergeist whose helpful.

  • Whats the mail so we can forward this to big O' himself? Ino libviewer usally egress us to do that

  • split-second timing between a messy kitchen and a spotless kitchen, no cutting and genuine shocked expression, I don't think this was faked I think this was real, why else would captain disillusion stop making debunk videos

  • Wow, awsome. I can't wait to see how you did that!

  • @brindis15

He filmed the last two shots first and then to make it appear that the kitchen cleaned itself, he just moved those shot to the end. Basically it is a twist on the point he was making.

  • @lafther210, of course it is a trick, but amazingly well done. In the second "cleaning", the movement of the camera seems uninterrupted... and probably is. But look at the "ordered" things in the cupboard, you can notice that the second time they are arranged differently (e.g. the orange things in the middle shelf are later in the bottom shelf).

  • Hahaaaaaa! Awesome.

  • I miss your videos :(

  • You are a great guy, congratulations for all that you do !

  • mellow bONErd. Bonerd? Bonered?

  • Miss you!

  • Fantastic and thanks, you have been missed.

  • instant subscribe ;)

  • I'm astonished when I watch those poltergeist videos and look at the comments. These people are so adamant in their belief and obsession with the "paranormal" that they often won't even acknowledge the possibility of it being fake. What's more likely to be real? Ghosts throwing things around, or a person faking footage to exploit the gullibility of others?

    I'm going with the latter.

  • What's sad is that this video needs to be made at all.

  • Where the hell have you been? Taking up space on my YT homepage and never posting anything...pretty sure you owe me money for that. (love ya)

  • You got a little bored creating the fade out ... but the rest is amazing ...

  • I need rhe number of that ghost. My house needs cleaning.

  • pure genius

  • we missed you captain D!

  • oh please return soon

  • I've missed your videos, Captain D. Hope you're well!

  • "but unlike a girlfriend, poltergeists don't seem to mind if you film them in action"

    Hahahaha, oh WOW.

  • There should be a way on YouTube for people to collectively donate to producers, so they could produce and upload more episodes.

  • the only way they can do something like that, i mean the first arrange, is with an invisible cut. The problem is find this cut. Ofc the camera is on a tripod, maybe apllied to wheels or rails (dolly camera) and the hand shake is added digitally. Btw i watched the first exit from the kitchen frame by frame, and i was not able to see any suspect frame.

  • its the invisible consuela

  • That was awesome!

  • I'd like to tell ya'll the terrifying tale of the prissy ghost, who drove everypony crazy with her unnecessary neatness! OooooOOwwoOOO!

  • They're here...

  • I thought you explains things you asshole..... All you feed me is puffins.... i need nurishment!!!

  • Now that´s something i would like at home. A neatfreak poltergeist! I´d never have to clean the apartment again!!!

  • @BigSwede7403 Obviously not that much of a neatfreak if it puts the items back in the wrong place.

Orange plastic dish on 2nd shelf at 1:26 , and put back on 1st shelf at 2:55.

Now if I had OCD... that would make me really REALLY ANGRY!

  • @198x Either way beats me having to clean my place. :)

  • awesome editing! :D

  • There was a flat i used to live a few years ago. And there was a poltergeist who used to do the exact same thing (even though it wasn't that fast)... It started to creep me out after a while so i moved out. But i give it a call once in a while or visit for a few hours... i call it "mom"

  • @BalthazzarCH BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

  • mellowbonerd. LOL!

  • Yay! We've missed you CD. I hope you truly come back soon, that was great.

  • MOAR

  • "But unlike your girlfriend..."

    lmao nice

  • AAAAH TIDY GHOSTS

  • For everything good, there is a bad application of it. CD you work is needed to keep the good editing does from being passed as fraud.

  • More vids kthxbye

  • yey more vids.

  • CD pwns the poltern00bs ...

  • That's no poltergeist. It's Samantha.

  • I thought you said poultrygeist at first. Now that is something I would like to see!

  • "Unlike a girlfriend, poltergeists don't seem to mind if you film them in action" TMI

  • at around 2:33 and 2:34 there is an artificial wobble on screen, this is where the camera is setdown on tripod , Captain D stands as still as possible he has his elbows locked and hands out postition, meanwhile is production staff put it all back , tripod is lifted off floor filming resumes, later in editing get 2 frames from the stationary stance one just before the stuff goes back and one just after put them together add the false cam shake to cover up any inaccuracies off you go, very nice :)

  • @shadewield: your probably close to the right trak. But captain D is a bot more saphysticated. I bet he used a big mat to paint over that part of the kitchen. Maybe even two different mat shots which would explain why the cabinets contents where differently arraigned.

  • Ok, so around 3:07 it becomes a static shot.

As for the first time. I'm kinda stumped. Perhaps some very well hidden cut around 2:38. There are some weirdly looking camera shakes at that time.

  • lool

  • First one could be achieved practically. From 2:29 onwards he's leaving the kitchen, and there are sounds of kitchenware hitting each other. It's not until 2:40 or so you see the kitchen again. Best guess for the first one he has two accomplices. One picks up the knocked over kitchenware, the other replaces it with kitchenware (what's put in its place isn't identical, compare 1:30 with 2:55). Hell, the camera never looks at the floor so they could easily crawl out of shot. I'm Probably wrong.

  • @Shadewield he has no accomplices, he already stated that on his facebook, someone else already guessed that. also i would think putting the stuff in different spots was intentional.

  • Don't blink.

    Blink and you're dead.

  • Why you gone for so long Captain D.. i miss your videos, i seen them all to many times, i can speak for us all when i say id like you to make more

  • The least technical way to achieve the same effect is to have a steady cam rig, other people who're outside the shot reorganizing the kitchen, basic editing software, and a little patience for holding a pose. You can also add camera shake digitally to make it look more convincing.

  • @Nocturnous but i can't see any cut point

  • @Nocturnous he had no help cleaning up, feel like a broke record already. if you people liked his facebook page, you would've known that already.

  • @countbleck35

Dude, we enjoy the videos, doesn't mean we instantly run at the facebook page. Though having said that, @DavideoDesign sounds good and explains the unusual camera wobble. Still, if they'd done it that way I'm surprised they didn't put everything back the way it was. Compare 1:25 and 2:55 to see the difference. Same kitchenware (half of which had been knocked out), different locations.

  • @countbleck35 Quote me where I said he, actually, did it that way. I believe I prefaced my comment with: "The least technical way to achieve the same effect." People were sharing various ways to do this, and I left a method which I would do. Maybe you feel like a broken record because you're an E-pedant always trolling for inane, online arguments? I'd never doubt that he'd rely on more digitally involved methods.

  • Oh Captain, my Captain!

  • Keep uploading Captain!

  • The second reveal is the easiest. Captain D doesn't overlap with any of the scenery, so it'd be simple enough to overlay a shot of the clean kitchen over the trashed kitchen.

The first is a bit more clever. I'd love to see some theories.

  • @Uejji I guess a cut, or some really fast cleaners

  • Comment removed

  • I think he edited all pixels in paint, that's why he hasn't posted any videos for months, that's how long it took him to make this one lol

  • I will pay you everything i have for this house! it cleans itself that solves 99% of my problems!

  • We miss you captain. Btw, anyone can debunk this video and explain the trick?

  • @Snustad it's obviously a ghost maid.

  • @countbleck35 ahah right! then i have one too, in my house. when i go out, i leave a mess, but when i come back my room is clean. i'm used to call it mum.

  • maybe it was someone's MOM cleaning his kitchen.

  • Why do u havé stop vidéos ? :(

  • I could sell that ghost for 3 easy payments of $19.95

  • We need your Captain D....don't go away!!

  • can you please upload more videos?

  • A GAY POLTERGEIST?!

  • @alexanderespinoza A poltergayst.

  • It strikes me that, as is his wont, CD tends to see digital manipulation, but there need be none involved. Monofilaments are close to invisible all on their own, and a concealed compressed air device needs no digital tricks to remain hidden. I think the salient point is that a poltergeist faker is totally free to set up all his flying objects beforehand, and can "pull the triggers" out of frame while the camera is running. The camera is perhaps fixed to simplify staying OOF for the faker.

  • Start making videos constantly again. I miss them.

  • Amazing :D love it! glad to see another vid from you CD!

  • Cut during the camera blur! :P

  • This is just another common case of paranormal OCD is all.

  • glad to have you back in action captain D !!

  • the cleaning lady IS NOT PLEASED!!! also she needs more lemon pledge

  • i cant wait till you make new videos captain D. i can only watch your other videos for so long :)

  • i bet his mom got made and finally kicked him out because he messed up her dishes

  • GEEZUM LORD MERCY YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!! :-D <33333333

  • mellowbonerd :D

  • Send you clean freak ghost my way. I've got a christmas tree to put up

  • :O your poltergeist is a neat-freak!

  • finally, a ghost that can clean up the place. :)

  • After considering how you have explained past videos Captain D, I'm quite sure this is done with digital trickery. I fine magician trick, but no poltergeist.

  • @madmachinex well derp.

  • Where the hell have you been?

  • This sucks.

Now I want a house cleaning poltergeist

  • I really missed your videos. ;_; Make more.

  • Awesome...good to see your back

  • @wiika57 Learn to spell.

  • @billie1123 wut i canoT red yur ritin Wut yu b saing?

  • Ha.. that was seriously awesome.. Going from ".. whot does this painted prick want?.. uhu, remarking on the poltergaistfanatics.. im with u so far... to "woah".. Thumbing this vid waaaay up there..

  • So that's it... Now Captain D is converted. Whilst disproving a poltergeist, one decided to pay a visit and clean his house (reverse psychology, perhaps!) a general symptom of poltergeist activity.

I'm typing this from my asylum and I gotta say, I KNEW the day would come where Captain D would learn his lesson!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I want ghosts to clean my house now.
