  • ive noticed that almost all the adoption videos on youtube are using this song...

  • the more vids I watch, the more I want to adopt a child. I think I'll do that when it's time for me to build my own family. I would do that before even thinking of having a baby. There's plenty of kids in need of a mom out there...

  • you do know that most of the kids come from loving homes that the ss have just taken away from there mother and fathers so i hope you enjoy bringing up some1s kid, whos heart broken mothers and fathers who did every thing for there child are left with nothing all thanks to the ss

  • All kiddos should have a chance at a loving family. Adoption rules!

  • Hey my name is Alena!

  • congratulations, is a beautiful girl ;)

  • Congradulations my names alena too and i just wanna say you are very caring adopting other children into your home

im only 14 but i hope to do the same

  • God bless you and I will pray for you, I plan to adopt as well

  • :D this so sweet! im so happy for ya'll! God bless your family!

    :)

  • I work with parents raised in foster care/have children in care- they, and you, have resources these children do not. Do most of our foster care children end up in underfunded orphanages or die because they can't receive life saving treatments? Or die of hunger or cold in the streets or suicide? Are they considered prime targets for prostitution or kidnapped into sex trafficking trade? That's what happens to so many of those "cute eastern European" girls. Do some research.

  • You know what upsets me? When ppl criticize ppl for adopting out of the country. Ok yes there are kids in america who need adopting but at least here in america there are wonderful foster homes and they have a greater chance here. But the ppl outside this great country dont they live in broke down orphanages and it wouldn't hurt if someone here chose to adopt them. Stop criticizing adoption is a beautiful and wonderful thing no matter who or where someone chooses to adopt.

  • @angelsorocks

If your theory was correct most people would be adopting orphans from Africa but almost nobody does this because white Americans don't want black children. Asians and Europeans are much more fashionable. Middle class, liberals in America are all for black rights as long as they don't actually have to live near any. Voting for Obama and watching Oprah twice a week is about as close as they really care to get to black folks.

  • Recent poster: There are orphans all around the world who need homes. If a family is called by God to bring one child home, that is more than most people do in this world. Two children have loving families now. Is that something to mock?

I loved this video. It made me teary-eyed.

  • There are plenty of orphans in America who need homes.

  • Thats true... and I hope you consider adopting one or more of them. Take care.

  • @taevans1 Nope I want a baby that looks like me..sorry

  • @TheBoredPeoplez

That will be difficult to find because it is impossible to tell if a child will have buck teeth until they are at least 5 or 6 years old.

  • @Eurotrash4367 I'm not sure if you're replying to my comment because that didn't make any sense all I said is I want my baby to look like me...

  • @juslookin3 It doesn't matter which country they adopt from. All children need a family no matter what country they are born into.

  • @juslookin3

It's not fashionable for upper middle class Americans to adopt American orphans. This is unfortunate but true.

  • @Eurotrash4367 The money spent on adopting a foreign kid could support several American adoptions. People shop for whatever breed they desire, and sometimes couch it in terms of how God directed them. Some want Asians; others want Eastern Europeans; less want Hispanics. Few choose African orphans when seeking foreign adoptions, yet those are the most abundant, and living in the poorest conditions.

  • @juslookin3

I know three middle class white couples in their early 40's. They all have a lot in common:

    1. The wife makes more money than the husband.

    2. They drive imported hybrid vehicles.

    3. They hate Bush and love Obama

    4. They spent thousands of dollars to adopt Asian children instead of having children or adopting American orphans.

I personally find the entire situation pathetic.

  • @Eurotrash4367 I'm glad that they didn't create children; that is the ultimate in selfishness. I don't care about the other stuff you mentioned. I think that adopters are great, in general. I just wish that American adopters didn't overlook American orphans, rather than spending multiples to shop for foreign ones.

  • aw anna and alena look like two beautiful girls (:

my name is alena too & i am russian.

This is a beautiful story .

  • its so good to see such happy things in this world. god bless you.

  • Thanks,

For our first, Anna, it took 5-6 months.

For Alena, our second, it took 1 year.

  • @taevans1 how come it takes longer for others? does it depend on the child or the agency, or where you're adopting from? my aunt and uncle tried to adopt a child from russia, and it's been taking almost 2 years because they keep getting lost... this year is their second year, and apparently their now 3 year old daughter (and my cousin!) is coming home with them in about 4 months. is it normal for adoptions to take this long?

  • It can take from 6 months to a year and even longer. It all depends on paperwork, finances, and government approval.

It isn't hard, just very involved and exhausting.

  • Yep! Both girls adopted and home living with us! Both growing up and loving life in a family.

  • alena is so pretty, and so is anna :)

  • sending prayers for your family, of thanks and that you will continue to be blessed and filled with the holy spirit as you begin your journey as one family. peace and blessings

  • thank you for posting that! I have tears running down my face. Our son is Jeremiah and we met him when he was 2. Lots of complications w/the canadian gov't and finally, after 5 year wait, he became ours officially 9/21/07. He is 7 now. Praise God. And praise God for your beautiful daughters.

  • Thanks and congrats for you as well.

I was always wondering how things worked in Canada. I'm Canadian and my wife is American and we live in the states so we did everything via the American government.

Must have been a real test and journey of faith and prayer. God always remains faithful. God bless you.

  • I'm actually American and my husband is Canadian. There are very tough laws when they are part native (even only 1/4 Native!) Thanks for your response. Yes, God is faithful.

  • thats a mazing my pearents adopted my sister and I to you should watch cinderella bu steven curtis chap man it is beautiful he adopted his kids 2

  • Loved the vid (ever so much better than ours!). We're just beginning the adoption process (see our son's vid) but we're hoping it will go quick and easy! Doug, Vikki and son, Weslee (located near Denver, CO)

  • this video is beautiful!!! i love it!!and alena is so lucky to have found her forever home!!!!....

  • Thanks for all prayers and thoughts,

Alena is home with us and doing very well! She is such a sweet little girl. She is turning 10 next week and is very anxious for her first American birthday party!

In mid-June Alena will have been with us for 1 year now. It's amazing the development and progress in just one short year. It's a beautiful thing.

    Tom

  • We are waiting to return to our son in Russia. Is Alena home? How is she doing?

  • Have you traveled yet? Is Alena home with you?

  • Thank you so much for what you are doing! Your daughters are beautiful. May the time to your reunion with Alena pass quickly.

  • okay. how about adopting sone asain, black or indian kids?? huh?? what about them? yeah right.

  • We were first starting the process to adopt an asian baby. Then this opportunity to host/adopt an older Russian child came along. Most want to adopt babies leaving the older kids overlooked. Families can adopt any ethnicity/age they feel led to. The ultimate result is that hope and a family has been given to a child. It works best when we all follow the opportunities placed before us to help out. If you have a heart for adopting Asian, Black, or Indian kids then go for it.

  • I could certainly see the temptation to pass judgement. Most people are only interested in adopting white, blonde-haired, blue eyed babies. Disabled, minority, or older children are often labeled "unadoptable." I think it's great that older children were adopted. Love is thicker than blood. I hope to adopt at least one disabled child in my life.

  • There are MANY children in Russia waiting to be adopted, how does it matter what race is the child? All of them orphans want to have a family equally much. The sad thing is this world will never run out of children waiting to be adopted.

  • I'm a birthmom... and I thank you from my heart... I have a video link of my story up now...

  • thank you!!!!

  • God bless you all who have dealt with adoption. I found my adopted daughter, given up at birth. She was 30 when I found her. Now she's 40. Please be good to each other at all times! It means so much! Unfortunately she had a horrible childhood, but now has a great adulthood since I found her. My point is to please give them a respectful life and you will be glad that you did.

  • Hello, You have our prayers. We too are adopting. A little boy from Taiwan. We are Knee deep in paperwork so we know how you feel. Please pray for us too. Your video touched our heart and we have a warm spot because you shared. Thank you.
