FYI, they tend to make many mistakes! I've been delayed and denied before and it's been their mistake. If you ever get denied and you feel it was a wrongful denial, file your appeal. When I got denied, it confused the gun shop owner who was familiar with me knowing I wasn't a felon or had any of the other prohibiting factors on my record. File the appeal, get a set of your prints and file for the VAF UPIN if need be.
Next time ask why it takes so damn long to process an appeal or VAF. 150+ days to update their stuff is ridiculous, especially it only takes them a couple of hours to deny you.
More dictatorial federal government regulations. I do not recall seeing an asterisk besides the second amendment when it comes to the right of the people to own weaponry. Everyone needs to research the long list of ridiculous felonies there are and how the federal government uses them to further subjugate people.
Has anyone here ever been convicted of a felony, but pleaded under the First Offenders Act? You keep your right to vote, and after you complete probation, all civil liberties are restored. INCLUDING all firearm rights. I used this act back in 2006 just so I could keep my rights to a firearm afterwards. Has anyone had any problems buying a firearm after their rights have been restored?
i was denied by this nics stuff. Tried to get a gun at a gunshow here in nashville. I have NEVER been in any trouble whatsoever and no misdemeanors or anything. Still trying to find out why i was denied and they arent responding at all. anyone else been through this?
This is a great educational video. So many people are unaware of or misinformed about gun laws. This type of video will really help people gain a better understanding of the system.
@kingVillien I was born after 1968 so someone pissed my rights away for me and that makes me pissed. I think it's time to get a mop and clean this piss up so the next generation can be free.
Too many women falsely claim domestic violence due to heat of the moment emotions. It's happened to guys I know and have had friends and family that were in relationships where the girl threatened to call the cops and make false claims. I always encourage them to get out of that relationship immediately since those false claims can illegally effect them for the rest of their life. Thats just wrong. Pushing or slapping a girl (I've done neither) does not mean you're a potential killer. Ridiculous
The 1968 GCA is unconstitutional since it is not an amendment to the Constitution. In order to infringe upon the peoples right to keep and bear arms the 2nd Amendment would need to be altered (amended) or abolished. The Constitution with its Bill of Rights is the SUPREME law of the land. If an 18 year old commits a felony (theft assault whatever) why should his right to defend himself and his future family be revoked for the rest of his life? Thats oppressive IMO & unconstitutional!!!
Congratulations to our federal officers for fighting crime!!!
Now, if we could only go back to before 1968, when you could buy any pistol, rifle, or shotgun through the mail--and the rate of firearm crime was lower than after 1968--these nice authoritarian officers could find real, productive work in society....
man i got denied and im in texas and haver never even gotten a ticket............... and after months of paper work and disputes they finially admitted is was a mistake
@traplif3 So many problems this sort of policy raises. Here's two that would apply to you: Violation of your civil rights to self-defense, and you were guilty until proven innocent. Seems to me you should find a good lawyer and make a Constitutional case.
@Mrcaffinebean Yeah like it would arguably be an even better use of our money to put that money towards some gov worker's pension or to pay for free meals at the homeless shelter than have a booth to explain why your shit got denied. Its not like doing business with guns is the most pertinent thing out there anyways.
@Mrcaffinebean You were denied? lol well one benefit of having a unique name like mine is that no one will confuse you with someone else. But seriously, if a person who really wanted an ffl but was denied they can call the FBI. Its not like that guy is going to help you solve your personal shit on the spot.
no way, they are there to answer questions about the process. Half of the people at SHOT (most ofthe people walking around) own gun shops and sell guns for a living.. It is great that they are there IMO
Better than never getting to meet them
Now if you want to talk cost of the fancy booth propaganda.. well thats another story, that stuff don't look cheap
While he's technically correct about a pathway for appealing a denial, it's in my opinion disingenuis simply because if they have mistaken you with someone else who has a felony record or worse due to identity theft you're unaware of, you may get arrested by local police in such a short time you'll have worse things to worry about than just appealling an erroneous denial. The GOA was right to oppose and still oppose this system.
"the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"
Too bad the people at this show didn't shun this guy and his unconstitutional, nanny-state system. Freedom all around at the show and then you happen on this professional enforcer of tyranny. Makes me a bit sick.
@ClawSpike No. Next time you hit your wife she shouldn't bother calling the cops and just use one of your own guns on you. One less woman beater would be OK with me.
@taofledermaus Yes & no. Technically you should still be able to buy a firearm because you are being prescribed marijuana by a licensed medical doctor. However on the Federal form you fill out to buy a firearm is a question;are you a "user, or addicted to marijuana or any other controlled substance". I am sure there are tons of "users" who apply & pass the NICS all the time. If you have a Medical Marijuana Card you are in a state database. To be fraudulent on a federal form is a Felony.
@taofledermaus On the other hand if you are prescribed something like Oxycontin(Oxycodone) for pain you are technically a user of a controlled substance. That is given a blind eye because a medical doctor prescribed it to you for your ailment. Because the Federal Government refuses to acknowledge marijuana as medically useful holders of said cards are not given the same blind eye. It really is a pain in the ass for the gun owning cancer patient who uses it to help cope with treatment.
FYI, they tend to make many mistakes! I've been delayed and denied before and it's been their mistake. If you ever get denied and you feel it was a wrongful denial, file your appeal.
