@zmannon Butane is heavier than air, he's throwing the gas in his hand into a contained candle (In the jar). If you were to try this with a stick candle it wouldn't work as the gas would disperse.

@mastersquash1 Also, I'll add, there's a strong chance the candle jar was already filled with butane prior to ignition. All that would have to be transfered would be the flame, to ignite the gas in the jar.
