I would love to build a handcrafted palace made out of ordinary materials - minus the decades of backbreaking labor and inevitable death before completion.
To your first question - sometimes I come across something in my reading/web browsing, other times it just pops into my head!
To the second - I always try and do some research, lest I sound the fool. If I can do that by talking to people who know what their doing (i.e. I spoke with urban explorers for that episode) then all the better, otherwise I do mostly web and some hardcopy research. If I could do this for a living I'd do a lot more research!
Oh, sometimes topics are put under my nose by friends - i.e. Joe my narrator/music man brought the Collyer Brothers to my attention and several episodes have come out of a never ending competition between my pal Tom and I in which we try to horrify the other with links to things that make you question all that is good in the world.
I know what you mean though - like you start off reading one article on wikipedia, then you see a phrase/word underlined in blue, you're intrigued so you click on it, rinse and repeat as desired, and before long you're on a completely unrelated page.
I don't think I have the patience to do any of this.
And there's a pretty good chance that I won't be featured on a Beatles cover, either. So is it really worth it?

Hey man, the Beatles could still get back together...with some voodoo or the like, perhaps?

That shows quite a lot of dedication. I love that album.

It's easily my top Beatles album. I listened to it all the time when I was a kid and still get a kick out of it.

This is were cloning comes in, perhaps?
Ah but seriously, it does trigger that old treehouse building itch eh?

Woot! Second viewer! I'm a dedicated subscriber!
How do you manage to think of subjects for your videos? And are they all based on your knowledge, or do you research stuff first?

Thanks man, don't think I don't appreciate it!
