there are no flights during the night because of the turtles and I think the first flight is 5am. What a stupid idea building an airport where they know it will affect the turtles. Ive worked in zante for 5 years and never heard a night flight
i was lying on that beach and i was RIGHT beneth a plane. literally right below it! really loud too lol. i went to caretta beach hotel. lovely place zakynthos is :)
She meant certain times in the night.. But this is obviously not the case, because of the three times i've been there, to have been really early arrivals and departures.. Like between 3 and 5 am..
No probs, I think the tourists who frequent the beach are more liable to endanger the caretta's then the planes,the beach is a no-go area at night as thats when turtles come ashore same goes for the planes regarding no night flights.
ive been to zante myself and stayed in kalamaki. your whinging about the scenery being spoiled(plane landing), how did you arrive on the island (by plane)? if it wasnt for the plane you,d be holidaying in Blackpool probably.

i was there as part of *earth, sea, sky* which is a turtle conservation project and these planes are a big cause of why these turtles are endangered!
we flew into the mainland and got a ferry from there
