It just occurred to me that the chipettes were drawn in a VERY human like way. All those up-skirt shots of the girls make me feel a bit uncomfortable. Not just because these girls are suppose to be chipmunks but little girl chipmunks! Was Pedobear an animator for this series by any chance?
Um, hate to burst your bubble but that's the intention: they ARE "little chipmunk girls". Just like Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are "little chipmunk boys". They're supposed to be children, not adults. What you're implying is that they are 'sexualized' because they are more 'human'. I'm a 20 year old female who grew up with the chipmunks and I am not uncomfortable with these "panty shots". I'm assuming you're male and turned on by these girls. Why else would you be "uncomfortable"?

@RyuSpike -- I think the art upgrade (note the eyeballs, with colored irises) symbolized the transition from chipmunk girls to chipmunk teenagers. The Chipettes' dance movements are definitely more fluid and stylized, and--here I must apologize for being crass--Brittany acts like my cat in heat.
@HaggisMcCrablice Actually, it was more of a result of new animators I think. A whole swarm of former Disney animators worked on A Chipmunk Adventure and that was something Disney did a lot of at the time.
