Loomis was always my favorite character. I love how they portray the character as someone who will do anything to stop Michael even if he is in danger himself.
@illuminatioracle The music made by real instruments is to sweet to make you feel the evil. That sintetized music creates an atmosferic efect like "electricity" in the air, like you can almost feel the evil and slowsly transports your mind into a deep and dark world of horror wich makes you believe there is no escape
yea im gonna have to say i do think this is the best intro in the franchise, both the first and the second are very equel films imopo, what i love about 2 is it brought more to the story and explained why he chose lori strode and showd that michael myers truly is pure evil and an unstopible force of nature while still sticking to a simple yet creepy plot however i do think there were a few things that were a little overdone but i saw 2 before 1 and its really what got me into these movies.
I love this. In my former band FREAK13, I ripped the audio off of this and used it as our onstage intro a couple of times. It always gave us goosebumps and got the crowd pumped when they heard the "You don't know what death is" line followed by the Halloween theme.
The original Halloween still has the best intro of any of the films. It's simple, it's creepy, it's shocking, and it was a great technical achievement...particularly for a low-budget film in 1978. The Halloween II opening doesn't even come CLOSE.
Best intro in the Halloween saga? No. They botch the flashback to the end of the first film, despite reusing much of the original footage. Suddenly, Myers is falling from the front balcony instead of the back, and Loomis is pumping a seventh shot out of that six-shot revolver (then shouting "I SHOT HIM SIX TIMES!"), and the shrill '80s synths are a jarring departure from the subtle creepiness of the original piano-driven score. Not to mention Loomis goes from stoic to manic in 3.5 seconds.
Well, six times sounds more dramatic than seven. I think the first movie was not supposed to have a a part 2. Carpenter is a genius and likes open endings. The thing and Halloween 1 endings are the same concept...evil is out there...it can be anyone and can take any form. In michaels's case, the shape was the personification of evil and michael was an empty husk( he was consumed long ago by evil). When he "died" evil was dispersed but not destroyed, evil can't die evil is everywhere.
As a kid, I remember laughing my ass off hard when I saw this. Anytime, you shoot someone 7 TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and they just get UP, and just walk away......I think you, or anyone else for that matter, would know that you are dealing with one serious fucker here lmao.
Best movie of all time the intro and the theme represents this the reason this intro was intense was to symbolize the intensity of this part of the halloween series
Halloween 2 is EXTREMELY underrated. Sure it's not the masterpiece that the first was, but it was still fantastic.
Bomb ass intro...I was a little kid, me and my bros would run around on Halloween screaming, "I shot him six times!", and "You don't know what death is."
This Is One Of The Best Horror Films Ever Made In The Movie Horror History, It's A Film You Can See Again & Again & Never Get Tired Of It, John Carpenter Is One Of The Best Movie Makers In History, He Surpassed Himself With This Creation And After Making This Film He Made His Mark On Movie History And Horror Films Then Took A Massive Change, Also The Music Is The Best I Have Ever Heard It Makes The Film Complete And More Frightning, There Can Never Be Another John Carpenter 10 Out Of 10
Does she say what is or was tht the boogyman? If she said wat is tht would b stupid because he responded as amatter afac. Tht is. Also it changed from dirt to grass. Still the best into of all time besides rocky 2 the same basic thing though
I like the changes they made to the original theme song, it takes more menacing turn at 6:55 while the evil rotten core of the pumpkin is revealed, depicting that this time we are digging in deeper into the evilness... perfect!
You're right, although it's a few levels below the original it's good. The original Halloween's ending left open a good chance for a sequel to complete the story. I give the original Halloween 4 stars. It's that good, & the fact that the violence isn't extremely graphic doesn't diminish its scariness. In fact, if it had been graphically violent the film would've suffered. The 2nd one is more graphic but that's not the only reason I think it's a 2-star move. It's a good but not great film.
Maybe Rob Zombie should have let the original series finish before he remade them.
BTW, his Halloween 2 bares no resemblance to the original Halloween 2. He's too busy making sequels to his movies(he loves himself) to care about making sequels of the movies that he fucks up.
Best intro over all for the Halloween Series. The first 2 will always be my favorite Halloween The Night He Came Home and Halloween 2 More of The Night He Came Home.
OMG I remember when I was 7 and saw this opening. I grabbed the controller and yelled at my mother that it was the movie with the man in the white mask. Mikey kinda scarred me when I saw him accidentally at 4 and didnt understand that this was all fake. Im waaay over it now and am a hardcore MM fan.
@vpirates62 Only in the original-- count the gunshots at the very beginning...according to those, Loomis shot him SEVEN times. Probably just an accidental goof on their (the filmmakers) part, but still a very noticeable one.
Probably, I've heard that Zombie said he "...wasn't happy with the first installment." I won't take much for Zombie's H2 to be better than that first one of his... ; p
Awesome
