Killer cards thrown like that will definitely not kill you, but what if the edge of a card had poison on them? You'd only need to to cut the skin and get to the blood. It might work. Or, if you're aiming for a kill with something like cards, the movie Daredevil will teach you that you don't go for the chest, you go for the neck, wrists, face, anywhere where the protection is the weakest. I'm definitely not saying to try it, it's just a thought that occurred to me.

The card machine didn't put any spin on the card. With spin on the card, the edges are spinning foward in addition to the card traveling at 90mph, which may make it to around 100mph, plus give it an moving slicing motion neccesary to cut the skin.

This might be minor, but you cut paper to be very sharp. (I assume this would apply to playing cards as well, especially since they are more rigid.) and they didn't even talk about doing something like that. I mean, they're modifying allot of myths even as it is, so cutting up a card wouldn't be so strange.

@IcoVir As a child I used to wonder if it was possible to get a paper cut so deep in just the right spot that it could cause lethal hemorrhaging or infection. So, no, a childs' assumptions would do as poorly to prove or disprove this theory as an adults assumptions.
