I agree with your anaysis concerning Obamas stimulus, almost entirely. I can't say you were wrong in any of it, but I must comment that the phrase "bi-partisan" is very important to Obama in passing any thing. Not being one to take personal responsibility, must have some means of shifting as much responsibility as possible. He needed some republicans on board for the spreading of future whitewash of the facts. He needs to protect his 'messiah' persona. It is political capital that he protects.

Good analysis. 6 mos later it seems that the stimulus did not work. Unemployment is way higher. White House is happy that fewer than 600K jobs were lost last week (which was a 4-day week). Many of us complained that Obama's so-called stimulus would fail. Should have listened to us. Next time a candidate says "Yes we can", we must ask him to finish the sentence. "Yes we can, turn this country into a third world nation". Umm. Not exactly the way we thought it would work out.

Instead of this incredibly wasteful "stimulus" bill that threw mountains of cash into the wind, the federal government should hae suspended payroll and income taxes for a period of 10 to 12 months. Problem solved. People would have money in their pockets to pay their bills and put money directly into the economy. But of course, had we done that, Obama would not have been able carry out his obscene (and unconstitutional) power grab.

Who knows what would have happened if the stimulus never got passed, but one thing is for certain; there has been no economic improvement as a direct result of this stimulus. Hiring freezes for government jobs, rising unemployment rate, decreased value of the dollar, etc. The lower mortgage rates only lasted for a month so the housing market still remains sub-par. You're right, Obama will be blamed because he put all his eggs in one basket and it hasn't worked.

The Republicans are not an opposition party. He was already a moderate, and liked tax cuts, so whether or not he was trying to woo Republicans, he would have tax cuts. But Republicans know that he could care less about bi-partisanship, because he asked Nancy Pelosi to write the bill. We could have had a much better stimulus, for a whole lot less than the 3 trillion+ stimulus that is actually a bill to fit the liberal agenda while they still have the majority.

Hey Decad, I am happy to hear about your new job, congrats. I am still stocking up on things like , food, seeds, soap and water. I also went 100% raw as of November of 08 and I have lost over 30 pounds of weight and I feel stronger in my weight training, I started doing that once I heard how many toxins our body has to fight from eating cooked foods, not to mention how much more nutrients are in raw foods. Its not easy, but keep it simple with green shakes and saleds mostly.

To me it seems like a pathetic attempt to fool normal working class people into voting for a party that represents only the top 1%.
