  • England a nation that was able to maintain its colonialism for the time thanks to his friend the United States and that group of few countries that guarantee ... gibraltar, Newfoundland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Virgin Islands, Wales Scotland, Jamaica and other countries invaded .. Argentina invaded the well .. I wonder what will be England colonies when they run out .. will be an island smaller than Cyprus ...

  • @dario2015 What on Earth are you talking about, in British English please?

  • this makes me proud to be british..... even tho I'm canadian. Did that make sense?

  • cunts

  • English and proud forever.

  • 'Britons never shall be slaves'? Obviously: they're too busy enslaving the rest of the world. Tyranny is never noble, the abuse of power is common and low, not regal. The history of the nation is bloody and wearing plundered jewels does not make one a king, it makes one a pirate.

  • @richardtheteague Oh piss off back to your liberal arts degree and stop annoying everyone just because you're life is shit and you blame the state.

  • @weecraig898 Your ire suggests that I may have touched a nerve, eh, Craig, is it? Oh well, the truth can hurt I suppose. On the subject of degrees however, perhaps you should get one yourself: your spelling is a little off, you see. The word 'your' is possessive whereas 'you're' abbreviates 'you are'. Perhaps you knew this, but, alas, the manner of your response does not grant me the privilege of assuming that you have been in any way sufficiently educated for the task. All the best.

  • @richardtheteague Ah I see you're (have I got the hang of it yet?) Irish. Explains it all. And yes it's very impressive that you're able to use the thesaurus feature on your trial of Microsoft Word but do give it a rest. Or are you simply captivated by the beauty of the English language that you need to savour every last syllable. Also, no I do not currently have a degree as I've still a few years to go until it's completed. Oh, and touched a nerve? Don't be silly Dicky, just look at Ireland.

  • @weecraig898 Oh how droll: The manner of your response actually supports my view that I had touched a nerve. You see, the very fact that you would choose to try and insult me via sniping comments pertaining to nationality suggests that you think one's nationality is somehow indicative of the kinds of morals or values one has. This explains perfectly why you were so easily riled up by a historically accurate criticism of Britain: you feel your identity is bound up with the place; sad really.

  • @weecraig898 Oh and, incidentally, the verb phrase 'touched a nerve', as it appears in the second last sentence of your last comment should be in quotation marks so as to indicate that the phrase is mentioned rather than used. As it stands, the phrase is being used and so, strictly speaking, the resulting question is pragmatically unsound, to wit, it makes no strict sense. A rookie mistake, but, as an upstanding patriotic Briton, I'm sure you knew this, eh wee Craig?

  • @weecraig898 If you're so proud to be British, Craig, even to the extent that you rebuke accurate historical criticisms of the nation, then why the interest in Germanic composition? Granted you did offer merely a childishly truncated version of Fur Elise (for example, I noted it lacked the modulation to the C Major figure as well as the third theme in D minor: too tough for you eh?), but all the same, maybe your heart's not in this whole patriotism thing, is it boy?

  • @richardtheteague When did I say I was proud to be British? And are you seriously trying to suggest that my love of classical music is contradictory to being a citizen of the United Kingdom? Sorry the video wasn't up to scratch, at the time it was recorded it was too hard for me but when I go home for Christmas I'll record a new video, I hate to think I may have offended those delicate little ears of yours. And what historically accurate criticisms have I rebuked may I ask?

  • @weecraig898 Just look at your first response to me. I'm guessing you don't actually know 'everyone', so I guess I annoyed at least you with my comment. Based on what your comment said, you feel that my gripe was unjustified, or inaccurate. So you're rebuking my view that the past crimes of the British state were morally unjustified and ignoble and saying, by extension, that its history in, say, slavery is not morally reprehensible, or is, perhaps, something which warrants pride.

  • @richardtheteague Oh how I envy you, to be from such an insignificant nation that you can enjoy the moral high ground on such matters. Must be nice.

  • @weecraig898 Not as nice as showing you up as the buffoon you obviously are, wee Craig.

  • @richardtheteague Your command of the English language is excellent I must say. It seems British rule manage to curb the barbarism of the Irish to some extent.

  • @weecraig898 A polished military uniform and the possession of wealth and power does not exclude a man from the possibility of being a barbarian. The actions of those who instigated British rule in many countries for the purposes of British advancement were barbaric and no amount of false self-importance could have changed that. Fine clothes and etiquette in certain spheres do not make one a gentleman. Gentility makes one a gentleman, graciousness, nobility and compassion, not hubris and wealth.

  • @richardtheteague Being British automatically makes you a gentleman - if you're born British but aren't rightfully miserable or gracious, are probably those that rather we all split up into the olde medieval kingdoms.

  • @IToe4Kids Ah, pearls before swine I see.
