The visuals and audio aren't perfectly aligned as sound and light travel make some stuff look the fraction of a second off. If you watch other band videos even the full HD 2009 season ones, they all look out of phase until about midway through. Also, youtube unsyncs the videos a tad bit. Anyways, I'd have to agree with everyone else. Diamond Bar does sound more premature, but still sounding good, as El Dorado sounds more professional and trying to perform the march as correct as possible

El Dorado went for more dynamic contrast, whether that seems boring or not, you decide. But I do agree that El Dorado's goal was not to make it exciting but to get the highest score by making it as clean as possible.

But I have a biased opinion, being in el dorado and all...

Lmao, I think both did a good job, but I think DB played it more lively, but El Dorado did play it more perfectly, and were more in tune, lol!

i say diamond bar played better than this el dorado. Is this a california thing? I don't think bands in Texas do this. I mean we do have military bands or traditional marching bands as opposed to the corps or even show bands (Texas Southern Style for example). Interesting...

From the video, it seemed that Diamond Bar played much like a high school marching (a good one) and El Dorado sounded almost military. Diamond Bar was truly going for it and at times it seemed almost out of control. Pitch was a big problem and there were overarching tone problems. From the video however, it is obvious just from pure volume that Diamond Bar was trying to make it exciting. ED however played very very clean, without any pitch problems, and sounded fantastic, just a bit boring.

I was in attendance at this review and can say with all honesty that EDHS performed the march better. I did think DB should have scored 2-3 places higher than you did. Definitely higher than Glendora and Loara. Your group should definitely invest into a new banner as you current one has a homemade look to it.

I though DB played it better, but El Dorado played some parts better and marched way better.

DB's banner is ok, its the guard's uniform that make it look bad.
