  • u know.. i can tell the difference cos i have been trying to solve that brittle sensation of piezos for a long time..thing is maybe you should add the sound from the recording to this video instead of the camera mic up ,cos this way we cant tell the difference.

  • i got a Bros guitar fitted with a fishman aura ramirez preamp and God the imaging is still not easy to understand..i still dont get the concept how a piezo can be made to sound like a mic. these fishman stuff really work. never believe all those other acoustic simulator things out there..fishman aura dope.

  • @egriggs hi, Iam currently using a Godin LGXT-SA Guitar that has piezo. Would you recommend the boss or still the Aura for a more "realistic" type of guitar sound?

  • Thanks bro! It's not stereo. Two separate performances. I always stack stuff like that.

  • hey mate, great feedback there, thank you. Listen, looks like you have a stereo track for each device output, but I can only see a 1/4 and another xlr outputs from the fischman. How does getting stereo image works? From USB stuff? Many thanks in advance. All the best

  • I got a Fishman Aura Spectrum and I agree with your assessment of it. Fantastic preamp. Still, LMAO @ 3:55 "OMG!"

  • Hey...just wanted to say that I enjoyed your post about the fishman aura. I have a the Fishman Aura Imageing Blender which I love. It makes me sound REAL good. The Spectrum might be an updated version of what I have. I need to check it out. Thanks.

  • Great vid - super useful - got a Fishman on the way as we speak!

  • very usefull! thanks. Is the fishman aura spectrum good for stage too??

  • there seems to be an abundance of wankers on here that seem to have nothin better to do than be negative and rude about peoples efforts to provide info that anyoned wiv half a brainwould find informative and useful! if you cant say somethin nice . shut the fuck up!! WANKERS!!!

  • For a guy with a lot of audio equipment, it's weird to rely on the built in mic of the video camera for a review of sound.

  • Thanks for sharing bro! God bless you!

  • Now subscribing...

  • Thanks for the great review... It's really helpful to have a review that compares 2 different products...

I am getting one of these tomorrow....

Iv'e been playing live with an older Taylor 812CE and I was never really happy with my sound...

  • Hey Thanks for the video.............what does hurt here is that it's difficult to get the full effect without being there with you in the studio....a downloadable wav file of each to be played back on ones home stereo would be the only why for us to hear what your hearing that is also effect by the quality of ones home system....still......without hearing it direct...I know Fishman is top notch ....thanks

  • Curious...have you tried the Fishman AURA on a solid body with a hexaphonic piezo..such as the Godin line. I have an LGX-SA and I get that brittle/sterile sound that you refered to??

  • I didn't find anything wrong with the length of your review. It was helpful.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time.

  • I don't understand... The best is the Boss or the Fishman? Sorry by my poor english...

  • Thanks, very helpful!

  • omg, that's awesome

  • Thanks for the comparison! I wanted to get the Boss because for live stuff I can just call up presets... but I heard it didn't sound very natural. Is the Fishman Aura analogue and the Boss digital?

Btw which program are you using to record?

  • Takes you 10 minutes to say two minutes worth of stuff

  • @yankeeG Sorry.. My objective is not to make it short as possible. It's to be informative and provide context, real world evidence, and be thorough. There's a nifty little thing at the bottom of the video you can move to the right if you like... or find another video. If you wanna hear some guy say "Hey this one is better than that one", go to your local guitar shop.

  • @egriggs I really liked your post man, thanks!!

  • @yankeeG haha, I couldnt agree more! I hate to stereotype but its pretty common for Americans to waffle on about un important details because 'ironically' it makes them think they are more important :)

  • I've got an Aura Spectrum DI right beside me. The sound of this is amazing. I used to take along a preamp and a compressor, and the previous Aura Dreadnought pedal.

This has a tuner - EQ section, Aura images for practically any acoustic band instrument, a compressor,anti-feedback, XLR DI, effects loop. I've got one solution for acoustic gigs. This.

Less clutter, and mind blowing organic 3 dimensional acoustic tone, amplified. It does what it claims. (Start with a decent guitar though).

  • you just save me $20 and a headache! thank you very much men this video helped me a lot!!

  • thanks man! Great video and indeed very helpful.

    Be blessed!

  • "heres the difference... IT DOES IT!" xD

very very cool video^^ thank you very much. very good!

  • cool video man

  • Amazing, Two Completely different sounds.

  • Good info

  • thank you for this compare, I was gonna buy the boss, but after seeing this and doing some research, im definitely getting the fishman. Thanks again.

  • I think a lot of engineers are sleeping on the Aura for Studio work. I still would rather mic up when recording but its a good option. I can tell you tho, I wouldn't dream about playing live without my Aura Spectrum..A mic'd sound live is with compression is no joke...This a great piece of gear..

  • thank you, very helpful. i was debating these two pedals and this helps a bunch.

  • Unfortunately, whatever format you uploaded to YouTube, the audio isn't clear... but... from what I could hear using my in-ear buds, there is a warmth on the Fishman. Is that what you mean sounds mic'd relative to the tinny-ness of the AD-8? If so, that is definitely the thang to get. Yes, thang. Those angles involved in acoustic guitar mic setup can get pretty precise (don't sneeze or cough or sigh or breathe heavy type of situation) though compression can help that I guess.
