Lithgow is a brilliant actor, and it comes through so powerfully in season 4 of Dexter.

In this clip, although the direction is not as good, I would equate his performance to Anthony Hopkins' as Hannibal Lecter, & I doubt he was copying him as this film was released in 1991 like "Silence Of The Lambs". He even looks like him!

The way he smiles pleasantly as he tells the parole officer what he would do if freed makes it way more chilling than if he had gone for the obvious threatening attitude

What Lithgow brings to the table in Season 4 of Dexter is probably the most wicked and vile advesary Dex will ever face. His methodical cold and void of feeling way of murdering his victims is as creepy as it can possibly get. The man is a genius when it comes to acting.

The funniest thing about this scene is that Blake's whole master plan basically relied on the prison guard's being stupid enough to turn their backs on dangerous prisoner's with power tools (seriously, would they even allow prisoners access to tools like this?). God I love this movie!
