fill it up and write the mileage down. run it till you need gas again and write down the gallons you put in. divide the miles into the gallons used. do this about 4 times.
then add all 4 mpg together and then divide by 4. this will be your avg mpg. thanks fo watching!!']

Holy hell this video got me so excited. I have the EXACT same bike and I'm a couple of weeks away from getting some V&H pipes put on it and was curious as to how it would sound. Thank you for the video!!
I did not do anything else to the pipes or bike. I did not re-jet (didn't need to)or make any other changes. I did it myself in about an hour or so. One thing I found that gives it a better sound is after it is good and warm I turn the idle down a little. It gives it more of that Harley potato sound. I did not have it turned down in the video. Good luck and let us know how it sounds when and if you get the cruzers put on. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps.
I have an 08 650 v-star if I replace the stock pipes for this V& H Cruzers is there anything else i have to do to get the sound like yours? some body any body?
I bet it sounds great under heavy acceleration. Hearing the RPM's climb violently would sound vicious.
It's a lot louder than my dad's VStar1300 that's for sure. The exhaust is still stock though.
It would take a lot of work to change the pipes on the 1300, you gotta change a few things, so it'll run right, since it's a 2 Into 1 system, we'd have to change multiple things.
It feels like it did. Also feels like it accelerates smoother now. I definatly lost the popping/backfiring on deceleration. The stock mod pipes popped a lot on decel and was driving me nuts. That's 80% of why I wanted to change them. The other 15% is they sounded like tin cans. The other 5% is looks. Another thing I noticed is that the idle is slower and I have to run with choke half open for a few miles till it gets good and hot, close choke and then all is well. Hope this helps.
@0U81aswell I find i have to do the same thing on my 2010 650 vstar it has the same pipes but i have to start it on choke and let it idle for about 1 minuite then it good to go
I have the same pipes never rejetted never had one problem only a slight bit of popping how did you get rid of the popping

That sounds real good for a 650.
ryanthie 2 years ago
Thanks ryanthie! The 650 part of it shows on the highway, high engine RPM's. The pipes still sound good at higher speed's though.
thanks again!

You're welcome!
I didn't think a 650 could sound so good.
The pipes make it have a nice growl to it.
I bet it sounds great under heavy acceleration. Hearing the RPM's climb violently would sound vicious.
