to make sure you only vote once, only US citizens are allowed to vote. It would be messy if everything was verified on election day. Also registered voters gives the administration information on how many people will vote so they can make the appropriate arrangments and have the necessary equipment. if they assume everyone will vote, but a lot of people dont vote, they waste a lot of money with the extra facilities and equipment that wont be used.
What is your prove about your comments? Also, you may use his title Senator Obama. I do not believe you are a member of his family to call him by his last name alone. I would appreciate if people can be respect for what people has earned.
Okay first of, a deficit isn't that bad, its bad for countries like Canada or other developed countries that are not as powerful. Any first year economics course will tell you that.
Second, Obama isn't for tax hikes across the board. Go to his website, tax cuts for middle income families.
Thirdly, Mccain is for tax cuts for everyone, and yet he still wants to fund a war, that is completely fiscally irresponsible.
The church's own website says that the focus is on the empowerment of the community - that community includes white, black, latino, gay, lesbian, straight, etc. The church is also located half a block away from an old housing development - one of the few left in the city of Chicago - and the area right around the church IS a poor one. Those people NEED empowerment.
Comments like yours serve to poison the discourse. Get some hope.
thesky, I agree; if white liberals think its hard to find jobs now just wait till obama reinforces affirmative action so african Americans get job left and right over well educated liberals that have real educations not from an all black college where they hand out bling bling degrees. Just ask Hillary what its like to help african Amerians to have rights then when Hillary needs help;the blacks role their eyes; something for white liberals to think very hard about before supporting racist obama.
This is hardly worth a reply, but I'll try anyway. First off, since when has the president had the power to change affirmative-action laws? Never. Second, I think an African American being elected president would--if anything--demonstrate that maybe this country is moving forward and the days when minorities needed affirmative action to give them a helping hand might be coming to an end. And what the hell is "bling bling degrees" supposed to mean? You're a moron.
THAT tax returns released by the Barack Obama presidential campaign show Obama and his wife Michelle gave less than 1 percent of their total $1.2 million income to charity from 2000 through 2004.The total for the four years was $10,770, "a lowball figure compared to other politicians," the New York Post reported in a story headlined "Those Stingy Obamas."
you know community organizer is one of the MOST UNDER-appreciated job in America, who cares huh?
I ask people to question their judgement about Obama, what kind of an Anti-semitic, Muslim extremist will help the people get jobs, registered to vote instead of workig in big law firm and make a lot of money??
Wow. Just, wow. Excellent video. Obama is the once-in-a-lifetime leader this country needs right now. I hope and pray every day that this country can come together and elect Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States of America!
All you liberal whites, you're too damn dumb to realize he's not for you. Hell, he turned his back on his own white grandmother. What the hell do you think he's going to do for you? Have you not heard his wife's hate filled speeches? She thinks along the lines of this Wright moron pastor they've been listening to for over 20 years. Wake the hell up whitey or you WILL be screwed!!
You know what? Most of us are sick and tired of the Wright "controversy" that you Hilary supporters and Republican Talk Show hosts are trying to keep going. We're past that crap. Let me tell you something, his approval rating has actually increased slightly since this thing blew up, while Clinton's approval rating is taking a swift dip. I wouldn't be surprised if she was behind this "leak". The argument is null and void. The fact that you all are keeping it alive is just hurting Hillary.
i'm white and I'm for obama, it's people like you who make me support him even more. And this happens every time you go out against Obama; people willl support him because of the ignorance of others. 08ama
There are a lot of reasons why I am supporting Obama, but his community organizing background is by far the biggest reason.
I wish he would talk more about his experiences as an organizer and use that to draw strong comparisons with Hillary on his leadership style over hers.
Obama is a bridge-builder who understands that the process is often MORE important than the outcome and draws his power from the grassroots, while Hillary is just another top-down, win at all costs politician.
I'm black and I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure that if you went to some schools that were dominated by another race chances are you would still get picked on. I go to a school that is mostly latino but nothing like that happens to me. Sure I get a few jokes about my race once in a while but it doesn't bother me.
It would be so cool to have a President with a grass roots organizer background. Given his background, I think he'd have deeper appreciation for our voices.
You know what? With that Grassroots thing, we may actually help to save money on having to pay him. That could mean more money in the National coffers for organizational use. This man is truly genius!
I travel around the U.S, and much like any community, the same problems exist in Chicago as in L.A, N.Y, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and every place where we spend $3+ per gallon on gas, don't have strong dollar because it's being flushed by people who already have money, and people that have to go to county hospitals and risk not getting treated because of no insurance. I think the U.S is a community, and any president that knows about community values can help people, no matter where they are.
A president that talks to the people on the streets, gets them together for a cause of having a voice in their own country, and believing in something valuable in this society is the credential of a leader that speaks more loudly than one who just speaks to politicians and uses people to exercise their own agenda.
BARACK OBAMA is the candidate of the necessary phase in America's growth, and the U.S is my community. I pay $3+ for gas in chicago, just as people in L.A.
all he was saying is that libs are far too sentimental to make a rational decision in a stressful situation, that's why obama and clinton flip flop more than a fish out of water.
Sadly, the Democrats have lost their way. Obama is something new, even to them. Whether or not they realize it, the Democrats are on the same plane as the Republicans. Obama is working toward unifying both parties towards a progressive move toward the future of this country and a better international reach.
This is a great video and shows how passionate Obama is and how good of a listener to all sorts of perspectives he is. This is what we need in a president. Not a puppet for the likes of Cheney and Rumsfield, not a president who doesn't listen to the American people; we need Obama!
Perception an opinion based on the truth one wishes to see or based on the truth made available in every race and every religion by its supporters.
Yellowman5084 faced racial injustice at the hands of Negros. I as a Caucasian faced racial taunts on an Indian reserve.
My ancestral family was slaughtered by the British in Scotland forced raped and tortured by the Russians in Germany. Get over the injustices of the past. Obama is as flawed as any human but he does inspire hope!
My comments is toward the media. Barack OBama is running for President. Not his old pastor not his new pastor. He is running. So have some dignity and act like it. The story about Spitzer only lasted a weekend. But you all are d r a g g i n g this thing out to long about the pastor's comments. Barack doesn't have any control over what Wright says no more than the control that Hillary had over Bill Clinton about 5 years ago. So move on to something positive.Like the economy and the war!!!!
The Florida and Michgan vote was to be decided by the democrat party. Not OBama or Clinton. It was not the decision of either. So EVeryone get your facts straight. As a matter of fact, if it the truth be told. OBama would "win" those states by a land slide. So it would be to his advance to have the vote. So why would he stop it. Let's come together. To much drama!!!!
i hope for americas sake that obama wins the presidency. a man of vision and integrity is what the world needs now. g'day from australia from someone of american ancestry..
Lets not hate on people and just deal with facts. Facts like Hillary also voted for No Child Left Behind and the Patriot act, as well as making assertions that there was an Al Qaeda/Iraq connection. I don't know how to make videos but I would love to see a mash up of these, maybe even with her Bosnia gaffe, quotes about Northern Ireland, Nafta. It's a patter that should be made clear.
Mrs. Clinton should have thought about this before she was going to "wrap up" the election by super tuesday. She agreed to the rules of DNC and now that she's in a compromised position she wants to change the rules. It is more Bush/Cheney like to do what she is trying to do
about having a voting rally at a famous Philly-steak restaurant and him having one fixed for him and eating it on film that will connect with the people. Rodney Brown
It was decided before the primaries that Fl and Mi elections don't count. Hillary fully supported the decision then, but as usual, she changes her mind whenever convienient. Florida and Michigan can make their voices heard in November, whatever they decide to do.
WASHINGTON: HRC, Obama and John Edwards on Saturday joined three other Democratic presidential candidates...they will skip states that break party rules by holding early primaries...a welcome development to the Democratic National Committee.
"We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process...we believe the DNC's rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role." -HRC Camp
To make change you must overcome the inertia of the status quo. The status quo is supported by those who are benefiting unfairly from the things that are unfair.
There are things that are broken in America and a select few are benefiting from it. At some point we must realize that if we put our energy together we can fix the problems. It is the story of the ants and the grasshoppers.
DO you realize that its not up to HIM?!? Geebus think about it. Its the FL & MI government heads that decided to go against the rules to allow voting early. Not his fault, AND not his problem. Hillary only thought it necessary to 'care' when it was convenient for her to do so. Blame the proper people here.
This country was never intended to be a straight democracy. It is a Representative Republic. All democracies fail when those who do not contribute taxes realize that they can vote themselves benefits that others will have to pay for. A slight majority of voters in this country do not pay income taxes. How long do you expect this to continue until the system fails? This is mob rule. Very scary. I wonder if these people ever consider the consequences of their action?
Yeah, I wish people weren't gullible enough to believe the lie that somehow Barack Obama is responsible for the votes in Florida and Michigan not being counted. When its ultimately the DNC's decision. What surprises me is that there are so many people that still believe her lies, despite the fact that she shows no transparency. Obama on the other hand practically walks naked among us
hahahaha Hilary Hilary Hilary yeah right. her and Bill backed this bill back in the 90's that lowered the penalty for possessing cocaine in powder form, which the "rich white kids can afford" but not for crack cocaine the same exact drug just different form. which the poor Latinos and Blacks can afford, don't get me wrong there or poor whites that can only afford crack cocaine but the number of Blacks and Latinos serving harsher sentences b/c they used the same drug different form outweighs.
I am so sick of people blaming the Fl and Mi vote on Obama. He had absolutely nothing to do with your STUPID ARROGANT POLITICIANS that did not want to follow the rules (as if they are better than the other 48 states that did follow the rules)when they decided to change the primary dates. THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution."
- Deepak Chopra
Obama has been tested over the last couple of weeks and he reamins calm, patient and forward looking. I love that so many are supporting him as he proves that the peaceful warrior can win the day!
Obama is real. Look at the facts, listen to his words. What you see of Hillary is just a picture she wants to paint for you so she will get power. Obama says what he means. He is the real thing. If you can't tell that, then you need to wake up. Obama can make us a country that really leads again by example instead of by force.
The electronic voting machines are rigged. My 9 yr old daughter could hack into one! Doesnt anyonewonder why you dont get a paper reciept after casting your vote? rather you are a republican or a democrat, look atit as if each party represented one side of a coin. Now I am going to give you the illusion of choice by saying "when i flip this coin into the air, you get to call heads or tails" the only rule is "heads I win, tails you loose" TRY DOING SOME RESEARCH GOOGLE VOTING MACHINES,FRAUD
HRC sez count every vote, except the states that don't matter, like Western States, and the ones that have caucuses, and the ones that usually go Republican. It's ridiculous that Hillary is now posing as the savior of Michigan and Florida. She only started to care when she realized that the superdelegates were not going to ignore the popular vote and the delegate count and nominate her on the basis of her "narrative". Sorry. Nobody buys it, not even the people of Florida or Michigan.
Obama is the most likely to push America in a more progressive direction, and thats EXACTLY what this country needs if we want to catch up with the cultural and economic prosperity of European countries.
Will everyone please go to my page and watch the "racism" vid I made? It is the main vid on my page. I have a new short show that is based in a positive vibe!
Just click on my name in Blue to go there.

"History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again."
Did the projects change? Is there still a boat load of crime and single mothers who will raise more babies who will commit more crimes? All Obama did there was give people a greater piece of the government money train.
So the experience of Obama is giving people tax dollars! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Vrooooooooooooooooooooooooom, watch out grandma, Obama is driving the bus.
Yesterday the "media" reported that "All three candidates" had their passports breached and pointed out an Obama advisor is the CEO of one of the companies involved. The truth: Hillary's passport was viewed during a training exercise for an intern .....LAST SUMMER...nothing to do with this at all. So why would she insert herself you may ask...I ask this...why is the actual supervisors identitity not being discussed. Google MAURA HARTY...I believe she is the one who failed to report the breach.
I agree with Listman11's comment... Please don't get too agressive with anti-McCain talk. We need Mr. Obama to win the presidency, but that effort will be jeopardized if Barack goes after him too heavy-handedly as he did by almost ridiculing McCain's slip-up in referring Iraqi Sunni as al Qaeda. Those kind of absentminded moments may seem very "telling" of how McCain would be as prez, but to the public, it just appears that Obama is picking on an aging war hero. GO BARACK OBAMA!!! Good Luck!!
Barack is not a political whore. His message is sincere and delivery is reasoned, inspired and heartfelt. Let's make up for the past eight years and take America back.
wont the followers of krammer get the vote for him?
wont the CFR members who pulled him out of their collective asses just win this for him with their morgan/chase, rockefeller/rothschild gold ?right befor they flip america on its ass just like in the late 1920s?
Hillary did everything (and much much more) than Barack did-backwards and in high heels- This is a joke- Hillary registered Latinos in Texas in the early 1970's- that was after years of activism-check it out- we are being hoodwinked and bamboozled- this is merely a politician- David Axelrod "Obama's Narrator" did the same "authentic" job to the people of MA with Deval Patrick- Guess what- they were "Just words." Do the research- OUr kids depend on it.
How are we being tricked by Obama stating his record? Clinton can do the same. She also worked for WalMart, which has worked actively to destroy labor unions among its workers.
Yes, Hillary and Bill Clinton also started NAFTA, one of the biggest mistakes besides the war that is directly causing this economic crisis we are in today. If you vote Hillary, you vote poor judgment, Lies, scandals, big business, Wal-Mart and a plethora of other things related to old politics
Do you know there was a time in this country, that our leaders, put their lives on the line? They risked their treasure, their popularity, thier very lives and the lives of their families. They stood up and were counted at a time they were called traitors by thier own ruler. If they had been caught they would have recieved a traitors exicution for their actions.
OBAMA can very well be the Hope of the USA in bringing back the helm of democracy and global respect which was known after WWII. God Bless America, God has given them Obama.
I'll tell you what is turning me off right now. I am hearing more and more attacks on McCain. I think that is a bad idea. If you remember, McCain immediately fired someone who was attacking Obama.
McCain fired a person who attacked Obama personally. Attacking McCain's policies in the Middle East is perfectly acceptable. Calling him an "old fart" is not acceptable.
I believe by that comment she meant....these single mothers and young women never thought their vote would matter or they were important enough as American citizens.
Its the true reality that many of us have felt disfranchised and thought our vote won't matter since Washington is so corrupt and deadlocked for things that has little benefit for most Americans. However, Obama has shown bottom-up grass root activism could actually give us a sense of ownership over our political process.Yes We Can
Obama: The real contender. We will never give up. Please donate, volunteer, and lift up this great campaign... payback time is not that far..January 2009.
if i was coming out college and i had to pay my loans back i would have not chose to drive a voter registration!that's way i love this man!he chose to help people rather than be a high paid lawyer!why can't people see this!wake up people this is the one we want!obama is the real thing!
Hillary needs to drop out of the democrat race i believe shes going to destory the entire party. me as a 19yr old will be votin for obama and if he doesnt win this election im sad to say i wont be able to believe in the goverment anymore. and i know other ppl in my generation who are for obama will be distorted if he doesnt win. the offer of change in a time when my generation is goin to be payin for the mistakes of past years is what im lookin for.
To tell you the truth, I'm still not sure for whom I am going to vote for but I know that if Barack Obama wins, he will bring something we have never had before, I just hope its good.
At what point in life is a person formally told about or made aware of his/her right to vote? Beyond what is discussed in the classroom. How is the importance and significance learned otherwise? Door to door is a great idea.
Yes, Mr Obama is an inspirational speaker. He could be the next Dale Cargenie. But an inspirational speaker does not mean he would be a good president. Warm Fuzzies do not not make a good President.
For the record, I don't like ANY of my options to vote for. All I know, is I can not wait until 01.20.09 when Mr Bush leaves the White House for good. He is leaving this country in such a mess, whoever wins this election will have a mess to clean up for generations.
What a loser. Project vote my *ss. Project Socialist is more like it. The man thinks government is the answer to your problems. Remember: a government big enough to give you everything you need is a government big enough to take it all away.
"If you couldn't be bothered to register I wonder if your going to be aware of an election and go to take time to vote in it."
I think that part of the process, though, is helping them along with the "awareness" part. Not only are they registering people to vote, but they are encouraging them to stand up for themselves politically, which would, in turn, lead to more informed voters, I believe.
why on earth would Obama want to underline his association with an operation run by the maoist sect ACORN and which has been notoriously marred by voter registration fraud?
"He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation... As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better." - Mike Kruglik
Who is going to pay for all these things that Barack is promising everyone? This mindset... the mindset that the government is there to provide for everyone.... that it is NOT the responsibility of the individual but rather the responsibility of the government to provide for everyone..... is EXACTLY what brought down the Roman Empire. We are doing it again. We will crumble from within. Do you think a track team can win if each runner is expecting the "team" to carry him? Won't happen.
I choose to believe that we are ready to unite as a country and I believe Obama is the person for the job. Vote. I convinced a Clinton supporter yesterday in less then 3 minutes. I did it with kindness and I listened to her. Obama is smaller than the movement he has attached himself to. And he's smart enough to realize and honor that.
at about 4:30 minutes into the film a lady says that they single mothers in the project said they told her "no one asked them to register to vote". No one is going to ask you. It is your right as American to vote but YOU MUST EXERCISE THAT RIGHT. It is a noble cause that people are going out and getting people to register but understand that ultimately it is up to you. If you couldn't be bothered to register I wonder if your going to be aware of an election and go to take time to vote in it.
We dont need ppl like that to vote anyhow. If they dont know how to register to vote they are uninformed. Those are the ppl that just vote (d) or (R) all the way down the line. There should be a test for ppl to be able to Vote.
I wish everyone thought this way but it's not the case in america. Sometimes you have to encourage people to make contributions when they feel it won't matter. I think this is why they started this project.
America votes because we believe each vote counts. Therefore giving people the belief that someone cares about you voting makes you believe that your vote matters. Obama lead a group that help encourage voters to believe in the power their vote has.
cmjandhoj, I understand your point, but you have to understand that ALOT of people feel as though their voices don't matter anyway. That their say has not been taken into account in the past, why should it be so this time around. My mother got her neighbor to register to vote for the first time for Bush/Kerry election, because she convinced her that every vote counts and she could make a difference.
Unfortunately some people in this country are so disenfranchised from their rights that it becomes necessary to let them know they do possess power and they have a voice that matters
hey buddy i think you completely missed the point of that part. these are the people who are the ones left behind. they were never told they mattered. they're just trying to get through their lives and didn't ever know or have the motivation to think that their efforts mattered. these are who Barack talks about when he says the desire to get involved is in people but they just need to be inspired to get mobilized. and when people are mobilized big things can happen and change can really happen.
No one is going to ask you to register to vote if they don't care about your voice. That single mother in the project is invisible to most politicians and to be asked to register (which is like an invitation) shows that someone cares enough about her and her struggles. Not everyone has the same level of personal responsibility as you. If someone needs help in realizing their own potential why not help them. To be reminded to vote is a smart and cheap way to begin solving a lot of problems.
Barack Obama has a chance at winning Pennsylvania if he can register enough voters and then turn out all his supporters, including the younger ones, on election day.
Barack Obama will be the greatest president of the 21st century. He is a very intelligent man who will bring only the best and brightest men and women into his administration reguardless of party affiliation. We finally have a great leader running for this great office, and I hope the American people do not pass up this tremendous opportunity to repair America.
I've lived in Chicago most of my 59 years and have supported barack since he was in office in IL. I have never seen such an honest man as he is. When I would ask for some help he was there and I know he would be there for this country of ours. I also know that he would bring a strong and good administration with him that would only have the people in mind. This is what are great country needs.Vote Please lets be heard.
Barack is the best man to be president, I have no ties to him expect I think he's honest, and I know he will bring a strong administration with him that will have only one thing on their minds, and that is the will of the people I'm a white man in my early 60s and I've been around long enough to know a good man when I see him.
Barack is a good man I'm a white male in my 60s I have been supporting this man for many years, I was glad when I found out he was going to run, he is an honest and I know he will bring change to this country. I know he will put a strong administration together and I know he will fix this country, for all the people. Please help this man win, it's in the best interest of this great country of ours.
McCain is a likeable guy, although I honor his sacrifice as a POW, it is a separate issue when I consider who to vote for. I like Obama better because I agree more with his position on major issues. McCain was pro Iraq War from the beginning and for continuing it indefinitely. McCain is not for Universal Healthcare, against a woman's right to choose, for keeping Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, and is against almost all gun control laws. He would also be the oldest president ever.
McCain will continue current policies in Iraq. Obama will get our troops out.
McCain will cut social programs drastically in order to pay for the war and "balance the budget", in the midst of a recession. Obama will use the money saved in Iraq to expand social programs at home.
McCain is known for erratic behavior, flashes of meanness and flip-flopping even in his own party. He won largely because of the pathetic competition. And he kissed the ring.
I have never been so excited and happy to cast a vote. Barack Obama is brilliant, reasonable, contemporary, balanced, and steadfast. He conducts a kind of hope and energy that our nation craves and needs, restoring our faith in ourselves and in our country. I'm happy to be part of the change. Inspiration is not just important - the kind of shift we are about to see, can not happen without it.
Let's help Senator Obama get to the White House. Volunteer and VOTE for a new & Improved America 2008!
This video shows his committment to the people. Just think a Harvard law degree and he goes back to Chicago to help the displaced and economically deprived people (of all races) The more I see of Obama the MORE Impressed I am. Even from him remaining steadfast to his pastor. (tho he disagrees with his anger) He's definitely not a fair weather friend. Shows his character and integrity BIG TIME.
If you read the definition of leadership, this man fits it to a T. I am not a Hilary hater, but I am assuming it must be ego that is keeping her from allowing this great man to do the work he has proven to be so great at, and that is getting people to care. Giving the poor, the uneducated and the non-connected hope and empowering these individuals with a sense of purpose and duty as americans. Hillary should drop out, but she doesn't see herself as a non-leader she sees years as a politician.
Maybe people are happy that someone of substance is running for president. America is funny. We complain when we're not inspired, then we criticize and mock people who are. This man cares about people. He's smart, articulate, and even-keeled. Don't be so jaded that it blinds you to the real deal.
I see something very big at work in Barack's level of energy, success, and ability, at certain times in our history we are sent one who is here to right wrongs and show us the way, it is clear to me that this is one of those times, and Barack is one of those messengers.
"Now that Hillary Clinton's schedule as First Lady has been released, her near-total LACK of serious involvement in the real inner workings of the Government is bluntly apparent. There are few, if any, meetings with Cabinet members, congressional leaders, the National Security Council, the National Economic Council...All of her so-called experience is absent from her daily schedule....The Hil-lary she now claims to be was nowhere evident."
My vote for Obama in the Virginia primary this year was the first vote for a presidential candidate I truly believed in...and I'm an old white man whose been voting for almost 40 years. Obama, yes!
cem: I felt the same way when I voted for Obama in Missouri. As I completed voting, I got choked up. I didn't know I would feel that way but I kept thinking "This is something historic." I felt lucky to be part of it, even in such a small way.
Amy... I am a Missouri voter as well.. but active duty military so am living in South Carolina.. I hope that the floods on Missouri have not been a disaster for you as they have been to my family in southeast Missouri.. :(... but thank you for seeing this man for what he is.. A true visionary and a man that can unite us and bring us to the America that we were.. that we should be.. and what we will be.. Thank you
How can this guy be a "closet" Muslim and aim to destroy the U.S. when ALL HIS PROFESSIONAL LIFE HE DEDICATED IN SERVICE TO AMERICA FROM THE SMALLEST OF IT'S PEOPLE, ALL THE WAY TO NATIONAL SERVICE IN THE SENATE?
Barack Obama will fight for us because he is one of us. He won't take money from special interests because he wants to remain free from their influence. He is the most competent and compassionate of the current presidential candidates. He just gets it.
I don't see the logical in registring to vote? Why just don't have a system where everyone just can vote?

to make sure you only vote once, only US citizens are allowed to vote. It would be messy if everything was verified on election day. We need tax hikes with 9 trillion in deficit, and that should mostly be for the rich. You sir are uninformed.
DClark4129 3 years ago
Okay first of, a deficit isn't that bad, its bad for countries like Canada or other developed countries that are not as powerful. Any first year economics course will tell you that.
Second, Obama isn't for tax hikes across the board. Go to his website, tax cuts for middle income families.
Thirdly, Mccain is for tax cuts for everyone, and yet he still wants to fund a war, that is completely fiscally irresponsible.

It seems you are not well-informed. The fact is that Mr. Obama is not for affirmative action based on race but on economic class.

Williamkurk 3 years ago 6
A president that talks to the people on the streets, gets them together for a cause of having a voice in their own country, and believing in something valuable in this society is the credential of a leader that speaks more loudly than one who just speaks to politicians and uses people to exercise their own agenda.
BARACK OBAMA is the candidate of the necessary phase in America's growth, and the U.S is my community. I pay $3+ for gas in chicago, just as people in L.A.

Sadly, the Democrats have lost their way. Obama is something new, even to them. Whether or not they realize it, the Democrats are on the same plane as the Republicans. The Florida and Michgan vote was to be decided by the democrat party. Not OBama or Clinton. It was not the decision of either. So EVeryone get your facts straight.

I agree with Listman11's comment... Please don't get too agressive with anti-McCain talk. at about 4:30 minutes into the film a lady says that they single mothers in the project said they told her "no one asked them to register to vote". No one is going to ask you. It is your right as American to vote but YOU MUST EXERCISE THAT RIGHT. It is a noble cause that people are going out and getting people to register but understand that ultimately it is up to you. bbkits 3 years ago 11

Barack is the best man to be president, I have no ties to him expect I think he's honest, and I know he will bring a strong administration with him that will have only one thing on their minds, and that is the will of the people I'm a white man in my early 60s and I've been around long enough to know a good man when I see him.

The more you know the more Obama makes sense.
We will soon see Hillary conceding the Democratic race and McCain falling to the wayside as this grass works campaign moves forward.
Then the real work will begin to better America.
It's past time for a change!

Why would you say this guy is better than McCain?
Listman11 3 years ago
McCain is a likeable guy, although I honor his sacrifice as a POW, it is a separate issue when I consider who to vote for. I like Obama better because I agree more with his position on major issues. McCain was pro Iraq War from the beginning and for continuing it indefinitely. McCain is not for Universal Healthcare, against a woman's right to choose, for keeping Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, and is against almost all gun control laws. He would also be the oldest president ever.

Three reasons Obama is better than McCain:
McCain will continue current policies in Iraq. Obama will get our troops out.
McCain will cut social programs drastically in order to pay for the war and "balance the budget", in the midst of a recession. Obama will use the money saved in Iraq to expand social programs at home.
McCain is known for erratic behavior, flashes of meanness and flip-flopping even in his own party. He won largely because of the pathetic competition. And he kissed the ring.

Mr. Obama,
Caroline Kennedy was right. You have inspired us as no other person did in recent history. You deserve to be our president!

This is a great video! Be sure to share it with others. :)

Go Obama,
This video shows his committment to the people.

Hmmm, over 16,000 hits and only 8 comments - all fawningly positive. Could Obama be editing - just like Hillary?

Maybe people are happy that someone of substance is running for president. America is funny. We complain when we're not inspired, then we criticize and mock people who are. This man cares about people. He's smart, articulate, and even-keeled. Don't be so jaded that it blinds you to the real deal.

No...youtube just kind of sucks when it comes to updating. My own positive comments never seem to pop up.

I see something very big at work in Barack's level of energy, success, and ability, at certain times in our history we are sent one who is here to right wrongs and show us the way, it is clear to me that this is one of those times, and Barack is one of those messengers.

Dick Morris, in the N.Y. Times says:
"Now that Hillary Clinton's schedule as First Lady has been released, her near-total LACK of serious involvement in the real inner workings of the Government is bluntly apparent. There are few, if any, meetings with Cabinet members, congressional leaders, the National Security Council, the National Economic Council...All of her so-called experience is absent from her daily schedule....The Hil-lary she now claims to be was nowhere evident."

cem: I felt the same way when I voted for Obama in Missouri. As I completed voting, I got choked up. I didn't know I would feel that way but I kept thinking "This is something historic." I felt lucky to be part of it, even in such a small way.

This is how you get a handle on who a person really is.
What kind of choices did that person make --
what kinds of things did that person do --
when essentially no one was looking.
Barack could easily have gone down the
"Get Rich" path.
Instead, he chose the "Do Good" path.
Barack Obama will be a great President.

Barack Obama will fight for us because he is one of us. He won't take money from special interests because he wants to remain free from their influence. He is the most competent and compassionate of the current presidential candidates. He just gets it.
