  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I order kung pao chicken 2 days ago it was good :D

  • kung pao chicken! so yummy... :)

  • @EmoBlackdude92 I actually prefer the cashews to peanuts.

  • Awesome :)

  • @CookingaRound Thank you :)

  • you're cute

  • her accent just blew my damn mind but the dish was awesome lol

  • First thing is I like this recipe and the way you explained it. Even a new cook like me should be able to make my favorite dish now. I'll try to figure out when to add more veges like celery, red bell peppers and water chessnuts in the cooking process but I assume it's around the same time as when I'd cook the onions. Maybe I'd need a little more sauce if I add extra veges. I really like that this recipe doesn't call for oister sauce like some other recipes.

    Cheers

  • your accent owns!!!!

  • I love kung pao chicken my favourite :)

  • @EmoBlackdude92 Hi Marlan, You can actually use cashew in this recipe as well :)

  • George likes his chicken spicy!

  • Lela, I have made 3 of your dishes so far and they are out of the world. The Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and Egg Foo Young are so good. • Thank you for posting this video on here. I'm making this recipe tonight, and I'm making fried rice with egg to go along with it. With such a tight income, I wanted to be able to fix these foods at home, since we can't eat out as often as we used to be able to.

  • @Mojosfire Thank you - I'm glad I can help in these times. I cook at home pretty much every night, I really enjoy it :)

  • the sauces that you have for the chicken....if im serving about 20 people do i do 2 cup soy saucce and 1 cup of rice wine and 3 tsbp sugar and 3 tspcornstarch.....

  • imm nice dish i will make that today and i hope it tasts good thnx

  • the kung pow chicken i buy...has like a breaded coating....is this another method?

  • @marcmody

you can also follow another recipe by her for the general tso's chicken and bread that way then add that to the rest of this recipe

  • Thanks for this video. This was the first meal I have EVER cooked and my boyfriend LOVED it! :) I am def. going to use more of your videos! Do you have more for non-asian foods?

  • Why do you throw away the lower end of the green onions. Isn't it a waste?

It would be enough to throw away the roots of the onions end, i guess.

your recipe is very explicit and exact! I like it and will try it!

  • WOW! that looks good!

  • like the video , there is an echo in the kitchen that can be heard in the mic

  • Great recipe just dont forget the celery and the water chestnuts add alot more to chew on. but this sauce has a good flavor.

  • i see all chicken lol no beef?? X]

  • @ripbunnyxzx well thts why its called kung pao CHICKEN!!

  • @LethalTech01

i no... lol but i was wondering if she had any beef recipes..... lol =p

  • ...I know I shouldn't watch this at lunch time. I'm freaking hungry now, lol.

Can I replace the sesame oil and cornstarch for something else?

  • YUM!

  • Nice recipie however I like to use cashews, better quality of nut and has more of a unique taste!

  • Nice vid made me hungry >.<

  • Just like that?

  • @hearts2spooge Just like that.

  • Thank you for the video!

  • i love suquinis on the kung pao , can you do General Tso Chicken dont know if u already made it i love that dish

  • Thats alot of nuts...lol xD

  • I liked ur recipe, had tried kung pao chicken in the nearest chinese restaurant. However, it had onions, red and green bell pepper too.

  • i will do it tomorrow :} thank you for the recipe

  • Just like that, just like this, just like that lol

  • Southern Asian chick... CHYEAH. "Just like that" :D

  • just like that,

  • can i substitute cider vinegar for white wive vinegar?

  • @dlkna The cider vinegar may make this a bit tangy. The vinegar I used is actually rice vinegar which has a lower acidity. You can use the cider vinegar and dilute with just a little water :)

  • I love the way you cook Would you marry me? LOL

  • LKB production? LaoKueiBu production?

  • Hi there!

I'm trying to cut out sugar from my diet and I just wondered if making this recipe without the sugar would be ok or is it essential for the taste?

    Thanks!

  • @MlleWaltz

is there anything like sugar? only without the bad part?

    hm...

i remember eating some sugar from fruits...

forgot how its called..... all i know its healthier than normal sugar...

    try honey :)

  • @MlleWaltz Leaving the sugar out will change the taste a bit. There are some substitutes that are all natural like stevia :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy stevia is illegal in America

  • @OscarMaris I mean the stevia sugar substitute that they sell in the grocery stores :)

  • @MlleWaltz no i make it the chinese recipe it requires all ingredient

  • is cooking wine ok? or do i need rice cooking wine?

  • Cooking wine is fine :)

  • are dried peppers ok?

  • Yes dried peppers are fine :)

  • What do I serve with the chicken fried rice or boiled rice or veg?

  • I usually serve this with stir fried broccoli and fried rice. You can even add the broccoli into the kung pao if you wish too :)

  • are you asian/ american?

  • My father is Chinese and my mother was a mix of English, Irish, German, French and Dutch :)

  • wow your mother has a lot of country mixtures. ;)

  • Красивая девушка и прекрасно готовит

  • awesome... just like thaat...

  • I found this a little bit too sour wit the rice wine vinegar. Perhaps a little less of that and more sugar?

  • hello can you pls help me to make chinese ginger beef my husband really really like that can you pls make a video how to cook ginger beef, thank you so much and really appriciate ...

  • Hi - I will put this on my request list - Thank you for writing and watching :)

  • Lila,

Do the Chilli Peppers have to be dried? or can i use regular peppers?

Also, would you recommend anything else for the marinade?

    Thanks, great video!

  • You can use regular peppers as well and for the marinade you can add a little shao hsing wine too :)

  • I definelty do haev the shao hsing wine. How much would you recommend when cooking with 4 chicken breasts?

Thanks again. your husband is a lucky guy!

  • I would just use about a tablespoon :)

  • Hi Lila,

    first off your cute hehe...

and could you possibly make an authentic chicken chow mein? without the western. influence

  • Thanks - I will put this on my request list :)

  • Hi Lila,

Thanks for this recipe, seems it taste delicious. I just bought my wok the last weekend so I'm looking for good and easy recipes like yours! Xie Xie!!

  • will the recipe change alot if i dont use chili peppers and peanuts?? and what shall i do if i dont have a wok?

  • The chili peppers add spice and the peanuts give a great crunch to the texture as well as flavor. I think it may seem like it's missing something if you leave these items out, but it all depsned on what your tastes are. The dish will still be good, it will just be like a regular stir fried chicken :)

  • Great recipe, but I wanted to know is it okay for me to grate the ginger instead of mincing it and could I us a blender to breakup the peanuts (the ones we have are fairly big and difficult to incorporate with cooking) I'm aware that this could burn them more easily.

  • Yes you can grate the ginger instead, and for the peanuts, you could simply put them in a plastic bag and hit them a few times with a meat pounder - that's how I usually chop up nuts to make them smaller :)

  • nice recipe i'm feeling hungary now.

  • loveyour vids. :)

can you do shrimp fried rice? resturaunt style?

  • I'll put this on my list of requests :) Thanks for watching :)

  • Instead of peanuts, roasted cashews would give a rather specific taste to the dish~^ ^

  • where can i get the chilli peppers?

  • They can usually be found either in the spice section or the mexican section in most local grocery stores :)

  • does it taste sweet with the sugar ???

  • The sugar adds just a hint of sweetness :)

  • sweet !!

  • weird sugar in kung pao

  • Pretty good recipe. Add szechuan peppercorns and chili-bean paste for an even more authentic Kung Pao Chicken. And maybe a touch of sesame oil.

  • (^_ ^) good recipe

  • Comment removed

  • yo lila from where i am, they dont sell chili peppers and i was wondering what would be a good substitute?

  • You can use crushed red pepper which can usually be found in the spice section of most grocery stores :)

  • Jalapeno

  • lol

  • hey lila just lettin u know that ur recipe are amazing.. i just moved out to a new house to live by myself about 2 months ago.. and i dont know how to cook.. but after following ur recipe the last week or so.. i found out that cooking isnt really that hard at all.. yesterday i made ur crispy shredded beef.. and today i wanted to try this recipe..

just wondering though if i dont have garlic salt.. would i be able to just use regular salt and add garlic to it?

  • Hi- Yes you can use salt and fresh garlic. The best way would be to put the garlic in a garlic press if you have one, or chop it very fine - just about 1 tsp full and then add it to the chicken. Thanks for watching :)

  • just one remark...please dont say HI so loud you frightened me lool! keep up the good work

  • Hi I love your site and the videos as well! This turned out awesome! Thank you so much I love this dish~Holly

  • Thank you Holly for the wonderful comments - I really appreciate them :)

  • I think the dried chilli soak it before you cut it , its more easy to cut.

    Thanks.

  • that kitchen has great acoustics.

  • Yes, you can use some crushed red pepper instead :)

  • i was wondering do i have to use peanut oil or can i use vegetable oil?

  • Vegetable oil will work well also; you can use any oil that has a high burning point - meaning that it will not burn at high temperatures :)

  • is garlic powder the same as garlic salt? i have garlic powder ...but not garlic salt.

  • garlic salt is garlic powder with salt added so just add a little salt for the same results

  • i dont mean to be a jerk but thats not what a smoke point is. lol :P i like ur videos though good job

  • As I understand, the smoke point is the point at which an oil burns - why what is your definition?

  • if the oil burns then it combusts, that is well beyond the smoke point. the smoking point is when the oil degrades or breaks down molecularly and is not good for the health. sorry i was not trying to offend you or anything. I rather enjoy the videos that you posted but that would be my only criticism.

By the way, 2 of my favorite oils that i like to cook with are peanut and canola because of their rather high smoke points (over 450 degrees F)

  • lol CornDr.

  • Thank you! I am going to make this with Tofu instead of chicken, can't wait to try :3

  • awesome; i made these; delicious. thank you!

  • Hey thanks for this recipe, i cook this a lot, but always buy the sauce, will try it myself. Thanks again

  • at the end of your video it says "thank you" actually thank you! for this great recipe.

p.s. what's the difference from this dish to panda's kung pao chicken?

  • I've actually never eaten at Panda's (there's not one close to here) - but after googling and reading a copycat recipe Ive found some differences. Their chicken seems to have more of a battered coating and my sauce is both sweeter and thicker. This is just what I gathered from reading it I will definitely have to try it next time Im near one. Thanks for the comments and watching :)

  • You must try all the food at Panda lol, thanks for the reply!

  • Hi, I really enjoy your videos. Wondering if you can do up a Cantonese Chow Mein with a really good oyster sauceless sauce (do not like oyster sauce) and also a Hunan Noodle - it has ground pork and a tomato-like sauce. I have never found a recipe for it. Thanks so much!

  • ok, I will put these on my request list. Thanks for watching :)

  • your videos are great!!! Can you post a recipe for schezwan chicken, please....

  • Yes - I'll put this on my list of requests - Thanks for watching :)

  • Great videos! Very clear and well done.

  • That Kung Pao chicken was the best ever. You are a super great cook. You rock ! ! !

I too was wondering, do you the recipe for Chow Mein?

  • I have a vid here for Crispy Chicken Chow Mein; and I'll be posting another for the regular (soft) noodle chow mein probably within the next month or so :)

Thank you for your comments :)

  • do you have a recipe for general tso's chicken?

  • Yes - I'll send u the link to it :)

  • so good recipe thanks but can i used just vinager i live in egypt and i dont find rice vinager thanks...

  • Rice vinegar has a lower acidity than regular vinegar. The one I use in this recipe has a 4.5 percent acidity level. So try to find a vinegar with a level that is close to this and it should work fine :)

    Thank you for watching me:)

  • i ask but there is not these vinegar ..i will try to used alitle thanks and please if you have the recipe for chow main please i will be so happy ....

  • I also love to add oyster sauce on this.

  • ... Just like that.

  • Very clear explanation. Thanks for you to sharing it. I will make it tomorrow:)

    Ani

  • are u single??

  • No, I'm Married :)

  • Are you still married? :)

  • Yes- I'm still married and plan on being for the rest of my life :)

  • DAMN! lucky guy ur gorgious!!

  • Thanks so much for the great and very clear videos they are very helpful

  • Looks tasty, is that spicy when it's done?

  • To me it's not too spicy, and I love spicy foods. If you want it spicier you can add more chili peppers and even a little hot chili garlic sauce (which is what I usually do.) If you want it less spicy, simply use less chili peppers, and remove the seeds first :)

  • GREAT JOB! My favorite chinese dish!!

  • i love 宫保鸡丁!

  • : ( i cant find all the ingredients here in mexico, but ill try to do it as similar as yours gracias hermosa

  • i think you sound exactly like callie from csi miami. thanks for recipe.
