  • suggestion for the viewers .... try not to gust get a printer paper and make a 1:2 rectangle because you will get a box with the size of 2x2x2 cm .. i have started with the exactly size of paper sara uses and after about 5 folds try making it with printer paper because the result is very nice

  • Can u use regular Printer paper?

  • Comment removed

  • I made it but i need some help because it's really hard to close the box

  • @BoszEpicMan You're missing out.

  • am tired of creating this...

    because i already master it!.

  • This is very very very hard....but very nice to watch. Right from the start, preparing the paper, so easy to mess up already...

  • @Gleekedgal just understand the video u will get it

am just do it but ugly, 1 year later now i already master it

i create again and again, hahahah

  • @deleon144z I know, sorry for being mean, but you don't have to tell me that. I like origami, just cuz this looks very hard, it does not mean I will never attempt it.

  • @Gleekedgal ok u just like me i look at it and i really amaze of that origami i can try it in first but really want and then i create

  • @Gleekedgal because of that am bored to make...

  • @deleon144z Well. if you're good enough, maybe it's not so bad to try, but I mess up so easily on the grid making and stuff, I'm just not gonna try it until I'm positive that I won't mess up on the first part.

  • Very good folding! It's a very good origami to make!! Hope ya make more origami!!

  • 2x1 is the same as 1x2 ?

  • WTF!!!!!! MORE THAN AN HOUR pliss can you make your tutorials more fast or by parts a hope you read this

  • This is probably the most hardest origami i have ever made... BUT I DID IT!!!

i'm really gratefull that you posted this video on youtube. Great work!

  • this video is more than an hour

  • That's a complicated sandwich.

  • Thank you for your instructions; clear, precise and informative. Hearing you describe the folds and repeating them helps us to get it in the mind. Knowing the names of the folds in relation to the others helps to remember the way the model is made, when I find a piece of paper, I can create one from memory, visually (video), audibly (voice). You are a GREAT INSTRUCTOR. All the designers and artists that have given you the ok to demo their work must be as grateful to you as I + other folders.....

  • how do you do the part on top when your making a lid i think..... on 20 min or something yahhh :D

  • Would you recommend using a bone folder for the strong creases, or would that be too strong of a crease?

  • @relussier Yes, strong creases are best made with a bone folder.

  • i dont see the creases!!!

  • What's the point of creating the diamond shaped thingy on the fan shaped thing?

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to much time to much talking grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • like so...

    Its really the Origami Movie^^

  • @alvang0114 You owe me an apology. :) - Seriously, it's for you to decide whether you want to watch a video or not. And believe me, it took me longer than 1 hour 13 minutes and 21 seconds to make this video. ;)

  • @AdamsSara shes right she put alot of work into this

  • @AdamsSara dont listen to him/her u explained this really good

  • @AdamsSara 2 squares right?

  • would this work with tissue foil?

  • @MrCalvic It's probably a model that will profit a lot from the properties of tissue foil. So, yes, go for it.

  • hi Sara,

after half a day struggling and full of excitement, I finally made it.

Thanks again for your fantastic video.

  • @georgelkh Great to hear. :) It's a challenging project, congrats to folding the model successfully!

  • I watched the whole video and enjoy it very much. The steps are clear. This will be my next challenge.

btw, what kind of paper u used in the video? It seems that the paper is quite tough and have a layer of wax on the color side.

    thanks

  • @georgelkh In the video I used normal kami. It's a bit shiny on one side, but that's not all too uncommon for kami.

  • she really likes closed sinks

  • @nurat98 I'd say Hugo Pereira really likes closed sinks. ;)

  • Ha ha this is awsome!:)

  • Way to long!!

  • @WebkinzLoversKKK

Boohoohoo... go fold a crane or something.

  • omg this iz so awesome

  • omg this iz cool

  • i don´t get te part when your doing the closed sink on the lid plz help

  • It's so long like an hour D=

  • its way toooooooooooo hard

  • all ur vids r sooooooooooooo long D:

  • so longgg D:

  • OMG! Perfect!

  • i dont think it takes that long to do that;)

  • holy fucking shitttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!! more than an hour?????!!!!! is this possible???

you so stuff yourself with nervs and all the sudden you decide to make an video

    over an hour OOOMMMMMGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is there an easier way to do this

  • @NRDROCK3 You can fold from the diagrams. You may find that easier. However, the folding sequence is the same. There are also other origami jack in a box models. They have a different folding sequence, not sure whether they're easier or harder to complete, though.

  • i made it but the lid won't cose right (at all). did i do something wrong?

  • @Accumen26 The lid doesn't close easily. You'll have to squish the box together a bit. It's actually something I'd change about the design if I had a bit more time. However, if you cannot close the box at all, check whether the length and width are considerably different for the box and the lid. They should be about the same. (And to close the box easily, the box would actually have to be a bit smaller than the lid.)

  • This was easy I did it on my first try

  • @Origamimaster1397 Great to hear. Although I wouldn't call it easy. ;)

  • OMG!!!

    1 hrs 13mins and 20 secs!!!

  • i...can't get the closed sink at 22mins....

  • @minyz oh! i finally did it... but the lid that i made was smaller than the size of the box and everytime i close it, it gets squashed :(

  • @minyz Yes, that's true. I've actually thought about varying the design to make the lid a bit bigger - or at least longer. I think that'd help and shouldn't be too hard.

  • its true close sinks are fun and what is the smallest paper you have used for this model?

  • @Inu1907 I'm not sure. I haven't used *much* smaller paper than in the video. I believe my smallest resulting box had a side length of 2cm or so.

  • Im guessing this is harder than the rose :D

  • Thank you very much thanks to your video I was able to make the Jake in a box and in time to give it as a gift. You'r amazing keep posting videos I would have never been able to do it with out your help :-)

  • i cant close sync

  • @csrules1001 If you don't know how to do a closed sink, this model will probably still be too challenging. I've got a video on what a closed sink is, so you may want to check that.

  • o.O

  • an hour r u crazy?

  • ONE HOUR LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LONGEST VIDEO IVE EVER SEEN!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VID ITS COOL I WANNA MAKE ONE

  • OMG how can u have patience like that?!

Looks sooooo hard...you must be amazing O.o

  • would it b possible 2 make from paper 17in x 11in

  • @SavagetheMaker You can try to make one from 17in x 8.5in paper.

  • i failed

  • @ohmastar my paper split in half in 28:45... second try i crumbled it to a ball in 48:18 this is the hardest thing ever!

  • lol box pleating is fun =D

  • You are so awesome! How long have you been making origami models? I'm a beginner..I only know how to fold paper airplanes and boats, but I attempted to make this anyway. I was able to get as far as making the springs but making "jack" was the toughest. I would show you the end results but you'd probably laugh..my toddler son did!LOL..Looked more like an "alien-in-the-box." Is there any other way to make a 'jack'? Something a little easier ?

  • @minicufer I started folding about 4 1/2 years ago. There are some other "Jack in a Box" models, e.g. one by Marc Kirschenbaum, you can purchase the diagrams on his website.
