BEING A VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN ISN'T A TREND RETARDED NEWS PEOPLE ITS A LIFESTYLE. god damn.......... i hate the media. i really do. always making us look stupid
I eat 1 time per week fish and 3 times per week meat, just because it's better for you cause you need the B12 in it.I tested it myself. My cousin almost died because of being a vegetarian.but I don't care if someone wants to eat vegie, I mean, it's their opinion. And also, we eat biologic meat which can run free..It's far expensiver but ,hey, if I was that chicken, I would rather had a good life, before I die...Not?
I became a vegetarain when I was 12. My school was in a SMALL REDNECK TOWN but they had an awesome salad bar. I recomend if your school lunch lacks vegan food then try going to the bookstore or amazone and get the book "vegan lunchbox" it's a great book full of ideas to take for lunch! I amso happy to see more kids turning veg....don't forget milk is bad too. Vegan is
not only the right thing to do for vegetarian students but it is a healthy option. I think if you go to PCRM dot org they might have some ideas to help. Or in fact if you contact them they may actually help out.

Oh dear god, fox news making such a big deal if a child chooses the more compassionate and healthy path of being a vegetarian.....a parents worst nightmare...whatever! *rolls eyes*
I wish they were as open minded when I was in school! I've been a vegetarian my whole life and I lived off pbj every lunch because that was the only "veg option". Then again I was the only vegetarian in the school! I think it's awesome this school has chosen to recognize others diets!!! Speak up maybe your school will listen too! Just remember every veg option you choose counts!!!!
I'm actually a freshmen in highschool and they do NOT serve anything vegetarian friendly and its maddening, its like they completely ignore a whole group of people.
So I made sure to send them a polite message, and if they do not choose to do anything then this will be taken to the board, its not fair for only one group of eating habits to be cattered to.
More schools should adopt veg practices. This is where our kids learn. The need healthy nutrition and should be exposed to good eating habits as well. Meat eating leads to higher cholesterol obesity and disease.
i agree with @TheVeganHere! you tell @ adrianehm to do his homework before making an uneducated assumption! he/she made themselves look that much more dumb!!!!
It's quite unsettling to think of of how people drink milk not only as an adult, but of another species of animal. The only reason people think milk is healthy is because of the mass sponsorship by dairy corporations. They have scared people into thinking that unless they consume food designed for baby cows they will not get enough calcium when there are so many other sources of calcium and other minerals that need consideration for a healthy diet.
I went vegetarian at age 3,5 . So Im vegetarian for 28 years now, never missed it. Great that schools FINALLY take up vegetarian meals. You should be able to choose and this makes it possible. Only downside of the veggieburgers is that they try to make it look and taste like meat, I personally dont like thta, but I can imagine its nice for kids/people that are still used and attached to meat taste.
I love to cook and rarely eat any salad by the way. The possibilities are infinite !
@DjnMatrika Finally take up? when will you city slicker vegans finally wake the heck up. I go to a small town school and EVERYONE eats meats goes fishing hunts and are perfectly healthy. God if i went to this school i would stand on a table and start yelling MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT.

If you are a vegetarian because of ethical reasons, then fine.
But if you think it is healthier then you are seriously deluding yourself. Eating meat analogues and refined grains is in no way healthy. In fact a properly planned vegetarian diet can in NO way match a properly planned diet with meat. People claiming going vegetarian is the healthier option are just so full of themselves.
I am vegan for ethical reasons. I did so over 20 years ago. I didn't care what the health issues were. Everyone told me I better be careful or I could get really sick. I started studying nutrition and the risks to being vegan. Actually I have been reading up about nutrition and health for over 20 years and the one that is clear is that a vegan diet is very healthy. Adrianehm, you should actually research facts, before making definitive, yet inaccurate statements.
@adrianehm lol yeah because the average american diet consisting of fried chicken, fish tacos, hamburgers, steak, and bacon is TOTALLY healthier then a vegetarian diet, i agree with vegan, do your research, vegetarians live at least 10 years longer then meat eaters on average
@adrianehm I am vegan for ethical and health reasons. In no way is it healthy to consume growth hormone injected meat product. Research dairy, and its effects on the colon. I can't tell you for sure because im no expert. But it's common knowledge, that dairy products and unproperly digested chemicals in meat products condone to toxicity and colon related illness. Not to mention how quickly it lowers your cholesterol. Youtube videos on clogged colons, it'll make you say no to meat for sure ^^
@jubylantk i agree! vegan/vegetarianism is so healthy! what is it with people always trying to say it's not? i think meat eaters are just afraid of the facts.
that's awesome! it's good to see so many kids going vegetarian/vegan. I went vegan when I was first in high school, and I was stuck eating a plain plate of lettuce or potato chips. they never offered anything like this

As a young vegetarian in junior high and high school, I would have loved to have these options. I had to resort to cream cheese and chive crackers and cheese fries, instead. Now, as a vegan, I have often wondered how I would have survived in my school cafeteria like this. It is good to know that this school has gone the extra mile for the small percentage of kids that really need it. Kudos!
fake meat is so bad for you... have you read the ingredient list? eeeek. It's like reading a chemistry book. All that unfermented soy is a NO NO. The soy industry is just as cruel as the meat industry. Soy is the leading cause of Amazon deforestation.

I'm a vegan and my family is gradually becoming vegetarians. They love the Boca burgers and also the tofu hotdogs!! They even want seconds. :))) They are also eating more veggies. It's amazing how much protein is in a Boca burger. They also like the (tofu) chicken patties too!! They can't really even tell the difference. They were surprised at how much they liked them! I wish the school system would offer them an option, but they don't where we live. 5 stars! Peace out, Kim
I'm a vegan. At school we have a wrap and sandwhich line. I usually get a wrap with lettuce, tomatoe, pickles, banana peppers, oil and vinegar, and mustard. If they have onions or green peppers, I will get that, but usually they dont. We have juice too, so you don't have to get bovine mammary secretions. We have fruit too, apples and oranges. Bananas sometimes. We don't have special veg options, and I get a great lunch.
@CeaserSophie i dislike when people claim to be vegetarian and still eat junkfoods as you stated. I know the majority of vegetarians dont actually do this but, i dont understand why some people would... I mean really isn't the point of becoming a vegetarian to eat healthier foods. when i became vegetarian foods i pretty much gave up ALL fast food all together, i mean the way i think it, why would i go to a BURGER place, if thats all they serve is burgers. doesn't make sense to support it.

there no vegan food at these school lunch and and the corn dogs have egg in them and were we from they do have vegetarian meal but only two choice and that is bake potatoes and letters
You know, cruetly and everything aside, it's probably pretty dire to at least be very careful what goes into meat. Everything they pump animals full of, what it's supposed to do is subsitute strands of DNA to make them bigger, faster. The DNA inserts, however, when studied, where changing rapidly and were Un-uniform in the manner of which they were changing. This basically means bye bye to a healthy metabolic rate and immune system.
Wow her sister is a carnivore i guess she is a t-rex also I cant belive she is so fat if she has been a vegetarian for 2 years im guessing she eats alot of cheese
That's really great. Where I live there's still junk food and fast food served in all schools without healthy alternatives. There's also an organization helping poor families with kids that can't eat breakfast each morning so they serve cow's milk at school and they oblige even to kids with lactose intolerance.
I can quite understand why someone would want to be vegetarian (as long as they still have dairy), but I LOVE meat, I'm a real carnivor. Especially fried meat. And also Squid, one of the only seafoods i like. Anyway, I'm dependant on meat, I can't help myself. And besides, in my opinion it's quite naturel, it's just the food chain.
i ahve no problem with people not wanting to eat meat. Just means there is more for me. So in honor of this video I told the wife to throw on a rack of ribs for dinner tonight. So later as I feast of the ribs of that dead cow, all Vegetarian's can feast on their bushes and shrubs.
LOL wife, kids(grown and gone), grandkids. And all eat meat. Cow,pig, chicken, deer, rabbit, squirrel, alligator tail, and just about every fish there is. And known to eat a rattlesnake or 2 a year.
"So in honor of this video I told the wife to throw on a rack of ribs for dinner tonight." - You are a fucking troll. In honor of this video. Please shut up. Asshole.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Sorry but I did commet about the video and it's content. But youare the one going from video to video and calling everyone that don't agree with you a troll.
That there makes you the troll.
Go go back under the bridge you camer out from under.
Not true. My equivalent to your behavior would be to go on hunters' or people making bbq's videos and leave stupid comments. But guess what? I don't like that stuff so I stay away. I recommend you do the same.
So what you are saying is if one is not a VeggHead, they should stay clear of all VeggHead videos.
Now that don't make no sense(well for a 23 year old it does).
No topic:
If the schools save money and the kids are still getting fat from the junk food allowed to be sold at the schools, it pretty much defeats the purpose. Put an hours worth of PE back into all school will do a better job. And they can still eat meat. Meat isn't unhealthy. Doing nothing is.
NO, what I am saying is that you should stay away if you are a TROLL. That means making stupid remarks in order to piss people off. Hence the way you posted and listed all the different animals you eat when no one asked you to.
You cannot deny the arrogance in your elder comments. That is why I don't understand why you come to these videos. You mock me being 23 years old but you don't show much more maturity than me with whatever age you are.
And FYI kids won't get fat out of school meals only. That is their parents responsibility which depends also on whatever eating habits they have at home. End of discussion.
The school meals I remember being served could not be made up by eating even the cleanest of diets at home. I remember the majority of kids eating literally nothing but candy and chips or fries every single day for lunch. Even in elementary school there were tons of kids who ate nothing but chips and ice cream and no one would say anything. That was also where they pretty much taught kids milk was the only source of Calcium, too, and gave us fluoride pills.
so you had vegetarian school meals when you were at school to huh?
Just because a meal is 'vegetarian' doesn't mean it's healthy , same with a meal containing meat.meat is only unhealthy if it is a processed meat or if it is eaten in too large an amount.lean meat is perfectly healthy.
Someone posted the comment "I see if you are not vegan your comment gets deleted". Up until now I have not deleted any comments unless they are spam. In this case I went to reply to the comment "I see if you are not vegan your comment gets deleted", and accidentally hit the delete rather than the reply. In fact I have only deleted two comments in all of my videos. One was someone who posted a porn website(spam) and the other was, like this incident, an accident. If your comment was here before then it's still here. I always welcome civil discourse.
My veg daughter's school originally offered a vegetarian option w/every meal, then it dropped after a few months. :-/ She packs her own stuff every day anyway. I had to laugh at the dietician reminding to make sure kids get enough protein, which is in everything kids like anyway.
If they showed "Meet your meat" in the school systems, I'm sure there would be many more joining this lifestyle.Great to see to school age children using their voice to make a change! Peace♥
Too bad proper nutrition is rarely taught in schools. Knowing what to eat to keep yourself healthy throughout your life is so much more valuable than some of the subjects they do teach.
The "dietitian" is wrong about cows' milk. It is not necessary in the human diet. It contributes to teenagers' weight issues and acne.
Meat-free dogs and burgers are a step in the right direction, and more compassionate, but still highly processed. Fresh fruits, veggies, legumes, etc. are better and tastier.
Faux News gets props for covering this- although the reporter and the dietitian are a bit clueless. They get a stick for referencing the dreadful VRG.
Nice to see though, that there is some intelligent life in Georgia.
I missed when she said "and some dairy". I just noticed now. Overall though I am happy they are offering veg options and we did see soy milk on the tray. So that was nice. I wish those corn dogs were vegan but I doubt it. Still, a positive step.
Oh definitely I agree! I just wish kids would get back to basic foods... pototatoes, rice, beans, veggies, fruit, grain and nuts - all that introduces a ton of variety. I think the whole foods are important rather than fake corn dogs, etc. We need to steer the diet away for corn products. Have you seen the movie Corn King. I will sent you a YouTube clip.
Give up the meat and don't eat the fake meat, just go for the veggies, grains, fruits - you really won't miss the garbage... try it for 1 month, 30 days and tell me that you don't look and feel 100% better.
I would consider the processing of meat to be unnatural compared to fruits and vegetables. I would actually go as far as humans eating meat is unnatural. Seriously, if you try vegetarianism or veganism for a month, you will notice the difference in your vitality.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
No crap I would notice the difference in your vitality. I'ld feel like crap all the time. I see two kinds of people that call themselves "vegetarians". Fat people and skinny people. The fat people are new to vegetarianism. They are just on a diet trying to loose weight. And sinny people that look like they about to fall through their assholes.
Now many of the schools have found it's just cheaper to sever fake meat than real meat.
Um, the meat you eat is often more processed and more unnatural than anything veg*n. Those corn dog and veggies burgers are made from plants you know- often non-GMO and/or organic.
Check out how animal agriculture really works and you'll change your viewpoint.
Sweet! Thats the best thing I've heard about school lunches I've heard the entire time I've been in school. But I hate the way Fox portrayed it,they acted like going vegetarian was like a bad thing or something.

ecloveanimals 3 years ago 2
You know, cruetly and everything aside, it's probably pretty dire to at least be very careful what goes into meat. Everything they pump animals full of, what it's supposed to do is subsitute strands of DNA to make them bigger, faster. The DNA inserts, however, when studied, where changing rapidly and were Un-uniform in the manner of which they were changing. This basically means bye bye to a healthy metabolic rate and immune system.

i highly doubt this is real vegetarianism. just like that barbara gates? lmfao, she was a serious joke! fraud even, she was no vegan nor anything.
bandwidthwaste 3 years ago
Wow her sister is a carnivore i guess she is a t-rex also I cant belive she is so fat if she has been a vegetarian for 2 years im guessing she eats alot of cheese
panchogordo1 3 years ago
of course you'd know all about being a fatass.
bandwidthwaste 3 years ago
Yes I do because I weigh 165lbs and I am 6 feet tall.
panchogordo1 3 years ago
There's a little thing called "genes" go back to 6th grade and learn about it. There are other factors that affect weight as well.
I wish all schools were like this, my High School only serves really unhealthy stuff.

For real, the kids they interviewed to represent the young vegetarian community make me sad for humanity a little bit.

Awesome, things are slowly changing. It's baby steps but 20 years ago this would never have happened :-)
TheVeganicWitch 3 years ago 3
True, when I was in high school I ate pretzels.
The only good salads were offered to the staff. The students only got a bowl of lettuce with dressing.
reddropdrop 3 years ago 3
I love how most students are eating Doritos and drinking Dr. Pepper, but it's *vegetarianism* that worries some people, lol
SunscreenAndVitamins 3 years ago 5
Ha ha ha veganism is more frightening then McDonalds to most people. That is scary and hilarious in equal measure O.O

I am sorry VeganHere for flaming your video like this. Keep up the posting, you rock!
SuperIntense57 3 years ago 2
No problem at all!
:-)
TheVeganHere 3 years ago
That's really great. Where I live there's still junk food and fast food served in all schools without healthy alternatives. There's also an organization helping poor families with kids that can't eat breakfast each morning so they serve cow's milk at school and they oblige even to kids with lactose intolerance.
organicfilms81 3 years ago

ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
I'm surprised you're old enough to have a wife. You sound like a 13 year old bully LOL.
How cute!
porolita22 3 years ago 2
LOL wife, kids(grown and gone), grandkids. And all eat meat. Cow,pig, chicken, deer, rabbit, squirrel, alligator tail, and just about every fish there is. And known to eat a rattlesnake or 2 a year.
ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
And I have to care why? LOL
porolita22 3 years ago 2

Sorry but I did commet about the video and it's content. But youare the one going from video to video and calling everyone that don't agree with you a troll.
That there makes you the troll.
Go go back under the bridge you camer out from under.
ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
Not true. My equivalent to your behavior would be to go on hunters' or people making bbq's videos and leave stupid comments. But guess what? I don't like that stuff so I stay away. I recommend you do the same.
SuperIntense57 3 years ago
So what you are saying is if one is not a VeggHead, they should stay clear of all VeggHead videos.
Now that don't make no sense(well for a 23 year old it does).
No topic:
If the schools save money and the kids are still getting fat from the junk food allowed to be sold at the schools, it pretty much defeats the purpose. Put an hours worth of PE back into all school will do a better job. And they can still eat meat. Meat isn't unhealthy. Doing nothing is.
ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
NO, what I am saying is that you should stay away if you are a TROLL. That means making stupid remarks in order to piss people off. Hence the way you posted and listed all the different animals you eat when no one asked you to.
You cannot deny the arrogance in your elder comments. That is why I don't understand why you come to these videos. You mock me being 23 years old but you don't show much more maturity than me with whatever age you are.
SuperIntense57 3 years ago
And FYI kids won't get fat out of school meals only. That is their parents responsibility which depends also on whatever eating habits they have at home. End of discussion.
SuperIntense57 3 years ago
The school meals I remember being served could not be made up by eating even the cleanest of diets at home. I remember the majority of kids eating literally nothing but candy and chips or fries every single day for lunch. Even in elementary school there were tons of kids who ate nothing but chips and ice cream and no one would say anything. That was also where they pretty much taught kids milk was the only source of Calcium, too, and gave us fluoride pills.
xsashulyax 3 years ago 2
candy , chips , fries
so you had vegetarian school meals when you were at school to huh?
Just because a meal is 'vegetarian' doesn't mean it's healthy , same with a meal containing meat.meat is only unhealthy if it is a processed meat or if it is eaten in too large an amount.lean meat is perfectly healthy.

Someone posted the comment "I see if you are not vegan your comment gets deleted". Up until now I have not deleted any comments unless they are spam. In this case I went to reply to the comment "I see if you are not vegan your comment gets deleted", and accidentally hit the delete rather than the reply. To whoever you are, please know I didn't delete any previous posts in this thread. Feel free to post any opinion you like.

In fact I have only deleted two comments in all of my videos. One was someone who posted a porn website(spam) and the other was, like this incident, an accident. If your comment was here before then it's still here. I always welcome civil discourse.
TheVeganHere 3 years ago
That would be me.
But this will get deleted too. Just depends on how many people really get to see it.
Besides Spam is meat.

My veg daughter's school originally offered a vegetarian option w/every meal, then it dropped after a few months. :-/ She packs her own stuff every day anyway. I had to laugh at the dietician reminding to make sure kids get enough protein, which is in everything kids like anyway.
bettiepagestyle 3 years ago 2

RedPaperShoes 3 years ago 2
About time! But milk products should be removed as well... At least it is a start! Maybe there is hope, after all!

i love tofu! i wish they made vegetarian meals at my school
Lalalaax3 3 years ago 4
Faux News gets props for covering this- although the reporter and the dietitian are a bit clueless. They get a stick for referencing the dreadful VRG.
Nice to see though, that there is some intelligent life in Georgia.

I like how statistics are showing that more and more kids are going vegetarian.. I also like how schools are offering vegetarian food :) Vegan Power!

I disagree on the dairy point of view...google "animal protein" and "casein" not something you want in your body.
DianeDi 3 years ago 6
I missed when she said "and some dairy". I just noticed now. Overall though I am happy they are offering veg options and we did see soy milk on the tray. So that was nice. I wish those corn dogs were vegan but I doubt it. Still, a positive step.
TheVeganHere 3 years ago
Oh definitely I agree! I just wish kids would get back to basic foods... pototatoes, rice, beans, veggies, fruit, grain and nuts - all that introduces a ton of variety. I think the whole foods are important rather than fake corn dogs, etc. We need to steer the diet away for corn products. Have you seen the movie Corn King. I will sent you a YouTube clip.
OurCorruptWorld 3 years ago
Give up the meat and don't eat the fake meat, just go for the veggies, grains, fruits - you really won't miss the garbage... try it for 1 month, 30 days and tell me that you don't look and feel 100% better.

LOL I'll take my chances with eatting real meat and not something man made.
ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
I would consider the processing of meat to be unnatural compared to fruits and vegetables. I would actually go as far as humans eating meat is unnatural. Seriously, if you try vegetarianism or veganism for a month, you will notice the difference in your vitality.

ANGLEBOOT 3 years ago
Ah, ignorance at its finest.
redeyes101 3 years ago
Um, the meat you eat is often more processed and more unnatural than anything veg*n. Those corn dog and veggies burgers are made from plants you know- often non-GMO and/or organic.
Check out how animal agriculture really works and you'll change your viewpoint.

Sweet! Thats the best thing I've heard about school lunches I've heard the entire time I've been in school. But I hate the way Fox portrayed it,they acted like going vegetarian was like a bad thing or something.
