@woodnskins you are so telling the truth Chris "Daddy" Dave is definitely not new to the game, and yes he was KILLIN' on BOTH Kim Burrell CD's!! Saw him with Maxwell at the Garden last June, the man has such amazing feel! Phenomenal drummer
Cats killin' it ....LIVE...yeah man,...practice and rehearsals is a lost art...peeps now-a-days just wanna gig...not be in a band and work together towards a mutual goal...smh

@DNICKS I know. I thought this was an old clip someone posted a few years agao where they just do "Change Your Mind." I didn't know it was the whoel thing. This is the shit. I don't know if u remember me, D, but we use to kick it about MC all the time. I mighta had a different name
@soulsista1220 I kind of figured that you were talking about that. No, I don't this performance, but I do remember someone had the whole performance up back in 2006. They did "You Don't Have to Hurt No More", "Ain't Hookin' Me Up Enough", "Single to Mingle", "Funky Weekend" & "What Kind of Man Would I Be" too. I only uploaded the songs from the album tho.
Was able to see this guy live at a Mint Condition concert back in '99. His Live groove / feel will leave you speechless. This dudes impact on gospel drummers is unrecgonized. Hall of Fame type musicality, jus saying! He doesn't seek stardom, just a laid back cat.
@MszVictoria Slow down Vick-Vick. YOU'RE over-typing again. They are cheesy and that's okay, that just means you like cheesy music. I don't understand why cheesy means bad to all of you. It's just cheesy.
@MszVictoria Yeah I "must don't" know good music. Agreed. I "must don't". It's all subjective anyway, I'm embarrassed that I've allowed myself to respond this much. You win Vicki. You must do know good music better than I does.
Man he is killin it ........There is nothing better than a TIGHT POCKET!!!!. Its good to have chops but if you cant lock that pocket wat's the point???
@weedkiller10 I agree! The dude is driving the music and regulating the pocket like a great drummer SHOULD! He has chops enough to throw up all over what they're doin but he's in control of the thing and making it feel really good......the point of the whole matter!
Someone needs to spray zachrhea3 with roach spray. You are crazy to call the best band in the land CHEESE BALLS. I spoke with Chris Dave years ago when these "CHEESE BALLS" were the band for Toni Braxton's tour. Chris told me he was actually learning a lot on the drums etc from Stokely, the ORIGINAL DRUMMER and lead singer. All I can say is go to a Mint Show and you will see. YOU ROACH
@zachrhea3 Mint Condition is one of the greatest bands ever, and you got the nerve to say "It's funny to see Chris Dave (the fucking man) playing with such cheese balls." That shit was corny as fuck. You probably can't even play a instrument or sing asshole
Wow, such rage. Calm down man. You have to admit these dudes are cheesy as hell. I listen to some cheesy music sometimes too, nothing quite on this level but cheesy none the less. I never said they suck or anything. They are just cheese balls and yes I stand by that. Also, playing an instrument doesn't make you a better listener of music, maybe a better analyzer but not listener. Any and all real musicians know that brother. Chill out.
@zachrhea3 hey brother i aint gonna hate on you for saying what you said but Mint condition are the only REAL r&b band left and these brothers are talented to the bone. Yeah Chris Dave is an mean individual drummer but when he was playing with these guys he learnt how to play with a REAL band that played REAL r&b and he learnt a hell of a lot from Stokley williams (the lead singer) who can hold his own with the drums too but these brother's music aint cheesy its the only REAL r&b left today.
@DenzelLookalike I'm right with you man. I don't doubt any of that, but if this is "real" R&B, I still think it's cheesy. I listen to Return To Forever a lot and I KNOW it is cheesy but I still love it. Don't take cheesy as bad it's just cheese.
@zachrhea3 What the heck does listening to RTF have to do with this man?.....I applaud you for at least knowing who they are but this genre is suffering from a LACK of creative and proficient musicianship and these fellas have consistently displayed throughout their career that they have taken the time to learn their craft and the instruments they play. I think the point everyone is making is the fact that these guys can play and they ARE real unlike 95% of the artists out there now!
Mint Condition is off the chain and they stay TRUE to their craft and to my knowledge have not sold their souls to make a buck as so many other artists/bands have done in the past. I only hope they get what they want and deserve due to they ARE THE BAND that keeps it real and true to the themselves and the fans. It would be nice to know what fans can do to give back to them due to they have given so much in their music to us. Bless ya fellas!!!
Practice is A helluva drug, i love it and hooked on it, mint does to, it builds perfrction and chemistry grows stonger as well as musicianship, skills, etc.....
i played in the band with the drummer chris "daddy" dave in junior high school band @ johnston middle school in houston, tx and i knew then that he was special but this just confrms that ....mint condition is the defination of a real r/b soul band. i look forward to see what these guys have to offer going forward.
