  • after reading though a lot of comments i feel quite revolted about the way people are acting . your arguing is just proving each others points to the people who say that english riders are snotty and than the english riders replying back in such a cruel way and same with the western side :( truthfully i don't care what discipline or saddle i have to be in or use because for me its all about the horse. because after all isn't that the reason we got into riding cause we all love horses ?

  • So what you're saying is mustang4254 is that "you" can round up cows like a sheep dog on you're horse and then you can come to a dressage event and "prancy" around a ring, still in western tack of course, and you can conect with you're horse make it bow walk backwards bounce sidestep rear, or are you just going to show the ambaseders herding cows? hmm, i think you'll find al so that it is ENGLISH NOT ENGLESH.

  • So are you saying because you think we don't have a bond with our horse western is better than english, what utter rubbish! i spent months trying to perfect the bond of my horse and i! and it was hard! i only rode him acasionaly and now i dont even need a leed rope he just follows me. call that natrual horsemanship?

  • @volleyballlibero1996 Being a rider is one thing, but being a team is much harder. You say english is hard? I doubt that it's much harder. I think any rider that receives the full trust and loyalty of a horse is the greatest. And for such love and friendship you don't need competition nor the Olympics. What some riders forget is that it's about being one, not about high jumps, barrels, polo or dressage, that's something everyone can learn. But not everyone can earn a horse's heart x

  • ENGLISH ALL THE WAY!

  • @volleyballlibero1996 englesh people can't jump on any horse and act like they own the horse us REDNECK can. so chew on that don't dish it out if you can not chew it yourself ...

  • i have respect for both. i see the difficulties in both. but, western just seems more natural for horse and rider. but, thats just me, im someone who likes things natural and how they were made to be.but, english is beautiful just as much as western, and a good horse and rider can do both and respect both. i personally prefer halter & bareback.

  • @volleyballlibero1996 Also, saddle is a saddle. And I don't think you meant to be mean or anything cause you are probably just another rider. I think it's just the way you said it. And before you go around talking about stuff be sure to ride both and do EVERYTHING that style has to offer.

  • @volleyballlibero1996 So what? Football, or basketball aren't in the Olympics, and does that make them not sports? And proper doesn't mean harder. I love to watch someone that does dressage get up in the western saddle and barrel race. And no you could fall off both the same. Also about the injuries, if you fell of a three or five foot chair whats the difference.

  • Some of my BEST BUDS ride english and i ride western but we luv each other anyway why cant we all get along its just about the horse not the style

  • @TheBarrelsGirl Heck Yeah BABY!! <3

  • Ummm western all the way

You say breaches i say jeans

You say warmblood i say quarter

You say dressage i say you just make your horse prance pretty

You say jumping i say barrels

    WESTERN ALL THE WAY

  • *READ THIS*The breeding in a real horse wasn't for speed pleasure jumping or even what discipline they should master but more like do they have the attitude and pure will power to do exactly what you want of them but 10 times better. My western bred cow horse can jump 3 ft and run barrels in 1D times she is 14hh. A horse is just a horse it doesn't matter what u do with it or what discipline your ride it matters on your way of thinking. both is harder then the other if you are doing it right.

  • @volleyballlibero1996 english is not harder in any way

  • @volleyballlibero1996 I love redneck stuff. Totally western. Western Is hard too you know, you cant just sit there and let the horse do everything. ENGLISH IS FOR SISSIES IF YOU SAY WESTERN IS!

  • @BarrelBrooke YEAH MAN WESTERN IS PURE COUNRY ENGLISH IS TO FANCY AND WIERD TO ME

  • @horseluvers1000 Heck yeah, BABY!

  • english and western are both fun but you can do so much more in a western saddle you can do jumping and dressage in a western saddle too!!!!!

  • @discodance993 No, you can't jump in a western saddle. Well if you cared about you horse you wouldn't, the western saddle is way too heavy to jump in so it hurts your horse's back. And if you jump properly the horn would dig into your gut. And doing dressage in a western saddle would probably be considered Western Pleasure, but I'm not 100% sure on that because I don't ride Western Pleasure.

  • western TOTALLY dominates

  • love what i do and love doin it all dont care what saddel im in i even do trick riding its all fun

  • Loving a horse has nothing to do with englisch or western. It's just a about the connnection to your horse. I ride enlisch too, but when I tkae a look at the pros, I would like to give up ALL styles of riding.

  • ENGLISH. I'm a *** eventer, & i love it. I have run barrels, and reined, and cut cows before I was ten. & Iloved it then. NOW I know there is nothing like the feeling of you and your horse putting EVERYTHING out they possibly can. I just feel that western is easier, & I'M NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE, CAUSE I GREW UP ON IT. English just makes me feel accomplished. Also, I used to have a quaterhorse,& I loved her, but that love comes nowhere close to how much Iove my warmblood. ENGLISH IS BOSS. :)

  • my first and only horse was bought by my dad. He saw this beautiful wild black horse. But as i said wild, and no one could go any were near him. I was 5 and walked to the field by my self and got on the horse. He didn't resist at all and the moment I touched my beauty we bonded. he allowed my to do English and western riding and we loved doing both. It isn't about how you ride its about the feeling you and your horse share.

  • @fp599 You know what, I totaly agree (: forget what i said about western VS english, its not about that its about the horse and you together (:

  • i love both i am just happy i have a horse that and my horse dos it all becuz you know smart horse they get bord easly xD so i am for both

  • Totally English

  • English!!!! <3

  • English is the best!! I love the feeling of being lifted in the air with my horse together as one!!!!

  • @adorkableshamus us western people can do that to just not as elagent, but you can't work cows with an englesh horse and still expect them to fancy around a ring. us western people can

  • @mustang4254 First off it's spelled English k ignorant? If you can't spell don't try to bash anything, k? Second anyone can jump on a horse and act like they own it.

  • I have jumped.... i have run barrels/poles.... I have hit the ground doing both.... Jumping with the right horse feels like your flying and for just that second you and your 1000 lb friend are flying together as one... Barrel raceing is amazing. when i lay my hands on my horses neck and he takes off to run home we are one and for THAT one second and i am lucky enough to expirince true raw horse power. I miss jumping a little, yes but when i barrel race its like i black out and go to haven.

  • I can't read it..... But I grew up on western horses and now I started jumping and NOTHING in western ever compared to going over a 4ft jump bareback. :)

  • ENGLISH. gotta jump! love the feeling. ( no offense)

  • I ride english becasue I love to jump!

  • @9showjumper im sorry i was in a really bad mood i ride english now its really fun and im really for that comment and western is fun to but they are different why does it matter to people how they ride its still riding

  • i like both if u can kick butt in the hunter or jumper ring ur practising elegance but if u throw down at rodeos ur practising being awsome but if u do both u kick ass

  • OMG OMG OMG!!! Thank you soooo much for at least a few saddleseat pictures!!! Thank you!!! You really don't know how much that means to me! I feel ss riders dont get alot of credit so it means alot from me for u to include them!!

  • I don't care for western but only because I hurt myself too often :3

  • @volleyballlibero1996 few english riders like you will criticize the crap out of western riders but u never tryed it your self. this english girl really doubted me about any thing i said for western so i let her come and ride my reined cow horse. she decided i was right.Go ride a finished cutting horse and tell me that is easy. western riders dont just barrel race either. dressage is probably the hardest thing to do and to train a horse. have you ever thought about the hardest sports in western?

  • they are both hard in different ways. you have to have a good seat for reining and cutting (what i do) and barrel racers should learn the proper way to ride and teach a horse different things. i do both english and western english is fun! love jumping! but really? most english riders are stuckup! i really dont like how western is criticized for all of its rednecks instead of people like me who isn't red neck and i know alot of people who would rather cut cows then run around saying yaaaaaaa!

  • @volleyballlibero1996 No offense not trying to be mean But thats why people on western get hurt is because rednecks(like me) take their horses to extreme which they shouldn't do. Yes people do think english is harder but if you look at it this way, imagine coming out of the gate in western you have a jump when your horse is taking of which catches people off guard. Same thing with english just in a different form so in my opinion they both equal just the saddles look different.:)

  • I think western is better because you can jump and barrel race and and everything. so western is way better to me beacause you can do almost anything on western. plus you get to go really fast around a barrel.

  • @CandyKiller666

Western may have a "bad" reputation in europe because they are all English riders so obviously they are going tot think English is better... That's a given like duhh...

Until you actually compete in a rodeo don't diss barrel racing and say its just running around barrels because it's not. It takes control and trust with your horse just like any English event does. You don't have to think western is good but you also don't have to make fun of something you clearly know nothing ab

  • i think that english is amazing the way they can jump and have such great balance my bff rides english and i ride western western isint as easy as everyone thinks and we have both tried each others disciplines but we both prefer our own (even though i would love to learn how to jump like that! i might take it as a secondary dicipline laterlol )so t thimk they both rock all that matters is that you and your horse are happy isint it?

  • It shouldn't even matter what matters is if u love your horse and your horse loves u:)

  • @volleyballlibero1996 yes but englih you learn balance when in western not so much. when i first rode i rode in english and i agree it is easyer to fall off but only because your not balnced then

  • I like English in my opinion but I've only rode western twice and once was a trail ride and once was just wakin round the arena a few times so don't b offended if u ride western I'm not Tryin to b mean or anything

  • @volleyballlibero1996 Hey! i feel the same way sometimes!! Dont forget! im and english rider too! but just because we believe something doesnt mean we need to make others feel bad about their way of riding! I TOTALLY understand tho! people tell me all teh time that English isnt REAL training and we always just send our horses off to be trained and all that crap but you know what!? if we KNOW that we dont do that or we arnt one of the snooty 'typical' (in their EYES!) hunter girls,

  • @Horsecrazzy440 then we can just ignore and KNOW whats trues about ourselves! We make WHATEVER dicipline that we ride what we want! But we also need to suport our fellow riders! and NOT act like a typical english person :) we show them that not all english riders are like that! i mean i can admit some are! but some arnt!! :) I love western! we gotta be open to ALL diciplines! VARIETY IS GOOD! it strengthens! it all works towards one thing! and that control! Bonding! and skill! HA it takes skill

  • @Horsecrazzy440 To flippin stay on a freakin horse!! I mean Comon guys!! its all the same! no matter what dicipline u ride!! :)

  • @volleyballlibero1996 wow so you are just going around comenting on everybodys western vids saying pretty much that western sucks and that you dont have to have ant skil!?!? ru serious!?! It makes me sick when people say that western takes no skill or no balance, or no hard work! does it really matter? I mean comon! who cares if english might take more skill who cares if western gives you a greater bond!

  • @Horsecrazzy440 Everyone should have the time in their lives doing WHATEVER dicipline they love and work hard at! You shouldnt be going around dissin everybodys way of riding!!! It just makes you sound snoty! and makes you really sound like what people might think english riders are! if you really care that much about english riding then i sugest you STOP and do your dicipline justice! and give everybody else a chance to enjoy what their doing :) yeah! Im an english rider!

  • @Horsecrazzy440 And yeah I LOOOOOOVE english i would looove to have the amazing oppurtunity to jump in my future! but as u can see i am also defending other people :) even tho they RNT riding english! haha wow! its amazing! id rather be friends with with western riders then with english if i saw all ur posts on others vids! ur giving english a bad name! STOP! get a life and let others enjoy theirs! :)

  • @volleyballlibero1996 I AGREE!!!!!!! YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF Y MOUTH!

  • Everyone, unless youve tried both, shut up. You have no opinion about the other side as youve never TRIED it. Saying ones better than the other, without having experience in the other, is rubbish.

  • @KaseyWasHere If u must no i did do barrel racing 4 3 yrs so yehh shut ur mouth cuz i have done western riding b4 and rlly u guys r C.R.A.P @ riding horses just beating them constantly with ur legs running around rustyy oil barrels well yehh its not an anderinlane rushh and fyi ur the up tight bitchh so go cut ur horse or wateva "western" riders 2 their horses then have fun fukin it up the ass u dikhead

  • I don't get why people have to be so snooty about whats better... can we not agree that western and english (riding in general) is a difficult sport. Lets think, instead of taking time to pick at english or western riding YOU COULD BE RIDING! All that matters is that you have fun with what you and your horse are doing :)

  • KaseyWasHere1 I do english riding and I don't find it boring, and if u tried 2 do some of things we do in english riding I'm pretty sure you would find it an andrenaline rush like endurance and show jumping. You try keep the horses under control now? Oh wait u can't cuz all u do is yank on the reins of your horse and if u tried that in english u would already b on the ground within a matter of seconds. And in my opinion western riding is BORING.

  • Okay i know how to barrel race do you? thats wat i thought And I know that barrels is much more exciting and a real adrenaline rush. So you can keep doing your crappy english riding u you stuck up spoiled rich kid and you probably know that barrels are so much better but your scared to admit it because you know that you could never compete like i do in them because you suck. So go suck your little monkey melons and more importantly go screw yourself u retard

  • @KaseyWasHere1 Oh dear :D I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction :D

What's so difficult in galoping around three barrels? I think everyone can handle that LOL, but not everyone can train horse to move like Edward Gal does, jump like Kevin Staut or ride cross country like Mary King.

I'm not spoiled rich kid, I'm 25 years old and I earn my living with training eventers and competing with them.

  • @KaseyWasHere1 You know, Western has very bad reputation in Europe. Most people think like this "Me or my horse is not good in jumping. Dressage is too difficult. Let's do Western!" It's easy, everybody can handle it. You are obviously from USA. English riding DOES suck there and you know why? Your trainers are rubbish, horses you import from Europe are leftovers that no one here wants and riders aren't working hard enough. And if you still have something to say then please click the bttn"reply".

  • ok everyone STOP FIGHTING it dose not matter, i coodnt care less. i have ridden english, western ,and bareback, do u no wat ma fav is, BAREBACK cause u can jump, rein, do dressage, game etc without a stiff piece of leather in between u and the horse, it just takes balece, skill, and a bond with ur horse.i take pride in the fact that i dont need a sddle to do any thing

  • I gotta go w/ rdeegs!!

  • There is a real answer!!! WESTERN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well now that I'm reading some of the comments I'm getting mad. You can't just jump in a western saddle and just know the barrel pattern. Or know how to rein. You can't do it in an english saddle. Western Riding you need to trust your horse, have confidence in your horse and yourself, and it's NOT boring. You really need SKILL. English is boring. Yep... BORING. Western riding is an adrenaline rush, especially barrel racing. Try to do the pattern and keep your horse in control? Oh... you can't.

  • @KaseyWasHere1 You call eventing boring? O_O

I, personally, have never done Western and I never will, but I think that andreline rush in cross country and the level of trust you need in it is not comparable with barrel racing or Western in general.

Barrel racing is just galoping around the barrels. DULL.

  • Well who cares if Barrel Racing or Reining isn't an Olympic Sport?? I ride western, and I barrel race. No it's not easy. But I'm sure that Jumping and cross country isn't easy either. So enough with this English vs. Western stuff. They both have their pros and cons. The important thing is that we all love horses, and that we BOTH (english and western) have come so far. So both are great!

  • @hunterjumperMo96 Im not dising Im stating the facts. I said that they can do amazing things just not what westerners do And vice versa Thats what makes the 2 sports so great cuz it would be boring if everyone had 2 choose from 1 im just leaning towards western is because that's what I ride I have no problem w/ english at all. I used t ride it ll te time until my horse broke his foot on a wal and had to be putdown. If u ask me, ur the 1 who's ben stereotypical.

PS. The higher the wall the better

  • @hunterjumperMo96 Well duh, every1 has leg strength, and I know how to jump. How do you think we hold on when our horses decide to reer up, or the slide on the dirt, and roll over on your leg, or when they buck? And Ive jumped 5 foot walls, so don't ask me how to hold on,

  • western all the way im a tx girl i get down anddirty and u dont have to dress a serten way and barrel racing is my life and i love my horses and all u english riders can go die in a hole for all i care

  • There is no real answer. You can't choose between Western and English, because they're too different. I've never tried western, but I know it's just as hard as english.

You could say this western vs. english is the same like someone would ask which is better, football or basketball. They're different, but they both have ball in the game, same as riding has a horse.

Of course, this was just my opinion, but..

We all ride because of the love for horses.

  • Good riding is good riding :)

  • I personally LOVE English because of the thrill of standing up in a little saddle on the back of a 2000 pound creature, while its jumping over a 5 ft jump. For me no barrel racing could ever match that feeling. Not saying its for everyone, some people love the feeling of barrel racing. I think all of the cruel words and everything is really dumb. The ONLY thing that really matters is that you love what you do, and that the horse loves what it does

  • @Celebrindorisaac i agree i love jumping!!!!! its just the most amazing feeling jumping 1:20 or higher i am always soo excited to do english shows but i wouldnt really be excited to do a 20 barrel race........

  • @Celebrindorisaac i think ur completly wrong about barrel racing, they love to run and it could beat the feeling of jumping any day. again barrel racing is completly fun and UNcruel for the horse, they enjoy it and if they did not they wouldn't do it!!!! but dressage is so cruel the horse has pain in its neck from being so tightly held, and for the horses, what you make them do is completly unnatral and just plan wrong!!!!

  • @horserider627 I don't believe they ever said it was cruel and they also pointed out it was just their opinion and everyone has a right to love something more than others,.

  • @MussoffXD no ur right i completly agree it is their opinion

  • @horserider627 then try going over a 3 ft oxer handless :) and the horses are collecting themselves. it doesnt hurt them. they love what they do. just like your horse loves doing what you do w/t him/ her.

  • @Celebrindorisaac you stand up in barrel racing too.

  • Englishers can do some amazing stuff but they can't barrel race, or rein, or pole bend because they'd fall off. Westerners can do both pretty much becaus eit takes a good seat to do it, they only difference between the two rider wise is that we have leg strength, and have an easier time holding on. Thumbs up for western!

  • @theappachiprincesse I can barrel race :) and I ride both :)

    -J

  • @KJstables same. I just preffer Western

  • @theappachiprincesse I just thought the comment was a bit rude.

  • @theappachiprincesse who says english riders cant barrel, rein, or pole bend... because i can.

  • @AnnaRuthlessFTW so can i im my english tack

  • @AnnaRuthlessFTW they can i do but people are just rude riding is riding and we all have a love for horses so can we make peace please

  • I love both. I started out English in my first riding lessons to give me good balance and posture but since getting all these new horses I feel more secure in my western saddle. I love both but I love English just to get out of lugging my heavy western saddle around.

  • I dont understand why everyone is fighting. Obviously English is better for some people and western is better for others. I personally prefer western just because that's what I have been doing my whole life. Some people will find western harder and some people will find english harder it depends on the person and the horse. Each one is equally dangerous and Thrilling.

  • Im sorry too. I started western and now im english, no hard feelings.

  • @horsegal481 First of all there's no need to be so rude. Yes, western is more functional for things like ranching. But it's not always more functional, and it's not good for horses to jump in a western saddle, not to mention it's unnecessary weight.

And also, opinions, opinions, opinions. You might find a western saddle more comfortable. I myself find english more comfortable. It all comes down to opinions. Neither one is superior.

  • @horsegal481 WTF it took you that long to think of that

  • lol i live in more of a western province where the anual show stampede goes on youd think im a western gal but turns out im a english rider both loved sides though both take skill

  • umm are we forgetting about the world equestrian games? which includes reining? just sayin...theres more to pro riding than the olympics....

  • Gah. Personally I perfer western but I understand why others prefer english. What I don't get is,why on earth is this a fight? The point of horve ses is to have them and love them and form a special bond. Not matter what the saddle.

  • I ride western and i want to learn english, i have been deciding on english or western lessons, and it took a few SECONDS to decide on both. both look fun!

  • 100% agree some people think english is all fancy blah blah blah NOT TRUE but westerns not all speed as they say. I looovvve both sooo much i just luv riding and competing!!!

  • Where ever there is a Western v.s. English or English v.s. Western there is always a civil war going on. Both has there ups and downs. Somethings a Western rider can do so can an English rider can do and somethings a English rider can do so can a Western rider. Lets just say we are both good riders and walk away. no ones better then the other. And if you think that, Well THEN GROW UP!!!!!! Cause no matter how hard everyone try to say there better. There not where the same but different likings.

  • @horsegal481 yes, and arabians.

  • im so waiting for someone to make a vid saying WESTERN IS BETTER or ENGLISH IS BETTER so i can totally troll their ass off youtube. IT DOESNT MATTER HOW PEOPLE RIDE!!!!

  • @ItsTheHood YAY! finally someone understands.

  • @horsegal481 Ummmmmmmm PS............ I CAN BEND POLES AND RACE AROUND BARRELS.........HELLO ITS NOT THAT FRICKEN HARD TO GALLOP AROUND A BARREL OR BARRELS OR POLE BEND BUT I WILL ADMIT THAT POLE BENDING IS NOT EASY BUT ITS NOT IF YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAT AND GREAT BALANCE

  • @RAPPIEMYBABY im sorry but barrel racing is hard!!!!!!

  • @horseluck3344

I never said it wasnt hard i said that it was easy if you know how to do it of course it would be hard if you didnt know how to do it but once you now how to do it its not that hard any more and the same goes for every sport you can do on a horse

  • @RAPPIEMYBABY ohh im sorry i took it the wrong way

  • @horsegal481

And yes its 3 turns. I've done it before [In my English Saddle, I own a a western saddle to for my trail horse.] He handled them easily, even with no previous barrel experience. So if you even think you can try jumping a 4ft course in a western saddle, you need your horses confiscated from you.

  • @horsegal481

Horses can break their backs in a western saddle jumping. I've actually seen it happen. My friend was jumping her horse in a western saddle, he took a mis-step. He had to be put down the day later for shattering his spinal cord in 3 places.

  • @queenluciaa well duh u never jump a horse in a western saddle western saddles r used for like barrel racing, pole bending, roping, pleasure but not english!! thats wat english saddles r for!!!

  • Wow. Sure what ever. I doubt youve even ever been to a rodeo. Dressage is Frikin Dancing!!! Show Jumping is just a couple of rich teenagers leaping oh so 'beautiful' over a stupid little leap. My barrel horse could do all that crap. And i bet your 'perfect' horse wouldnt last a day in my lessons, so just shut it up.

  • @GreyWolfie7 umm, I jump my horse, and I wow I never knew I was rich. btw Id like to see your horse come jump 4' or higher with my trainer. get some respect

  • @livelaughlove79318 lirl, I'm sure my barrel horse could jump 5 feet if she wanted to!

  • @weedluvertou lirl? learn to spell. maybe she could jump it, but could you? Didnt think so.

  • @livelaughlove79318 Um- I have jumped jumps that are five feet, but not on my barrel horse. And I've done it in a western saddle- something you couldn't do. And by the way, I can spell just fine, at least I capitalize the beginning of my sentences.

  • @weedluvertou Are you trying to kill your horse? You should not be jumping 5ft. fences in a heavy western saddle. And look, I ride at a barn where it's very respectful english, horses always come first here, the way it should be. Im not here to argue, Im here to defend my opinion.

  • @livelaughlove79318 I come from a barn that puts the horses before anything- even ourselves. Western saddles aren't that heavy, actually, considering it was a 13 in saddle and those weigh about the weight of your little english saddle. Not to mention that the horse has wearing wraps to protect his legs. He was perfectly safe, just an fyi.

  • @weedluvertou Look, I seriously doubt you jumped 5'. Plus most barns that put the horses first like mine dont use polo wraps anymore because if you put them on wrong it can seriously hurt the tendons in the horses legs, instead they use a safer alternative called splint boots. I'm not saying your barn doesnt care about horses, again..Im just defending my opinion.

  • @weedluvertou

You are wrong again. English saddles are extremely light., much lighter than even a barrel saddle. Since a western saddle is long and not designed for comfort when a horse jumps, it can seriously damage a horses back. I am a fail? I wasn't trying to pick out your horse, but most horses. Any horse will be confused about jumping for the first time. You can't just take a barrel horse and tell it to jump over a verticle without expecting it to buck you off.

  • @weedluvertou

Your horse would be so confused she'd probably just try to run around it. It takes training, like all events. Your stubborn-ass country self is to self absorbed you wouldn't know that. English riding has been around centuries longer than Western. Yet you say your horse can do whatever English riders can. LOL.

  • @queenluciaa She can, she is far more clever than any other horse you'll ever see. My arabian can jump jumps and race barrels- she can do anything. I trail ride, barrel race, pole bend, and occasionally jump her and she isn't confused at all. I wouldn't talk about my horse like that, you'd be very surprised if you were to ride her english. In fact, I take that kind of personally- my horse means everything to me and to say she'd be confused is like saying she is as dumb as a opposum. Your a fail.

  • @GreyWolfie7

When the hell did I ever say my horse was perfect? In fact, I have a 19 year-old Quarter Horse, who is far from 'perfect'. P.S-He is a retired barrel horse. Which I bought 5 years ago and taught him equitation and hunt seat. You'd be suprised how well he can tear up the show ring. And yes, I do bring him around the barrels once in a while. And he still acts like its nothing. BTW-Barrel Racing is 15 seconds 3 little turns. You guys act like you do more than that, but it isn't.

  • @queenluciaa ok you braught this to far missy . barrle racing is more then that you must keep balance not push the barrles down go as fast as you can and most of all stay on so why dont you do some reasearch befor you go and open your big fat english snooty mouth

  • Barrels are harder than they look!! And all you jerk englishers out their need to suck it up. Rodeos are more fun then youll ever have in 10 show jumps all in one!! And rodoes arent abuse!! Plus we dont even hurt anyone or anything!!

  • @GreyWolfie7

Thats where you are too wrong. Rodeos [Not barrel racing or Pole Bending] is a bunch of weak little men who like to chase their live-stock around a ring to prove they've got "balls". Yea, nothing more exacting than watching a grown man wrestle a 3 month old baby to the ground, Huh? And your stereotypical Bull Shit on English riders is way too funny. Saying we are rich snobs only points the finger at you.

  • Go westurn!!

English- Rich, abusing, snobs, and dont even care about their horse

  • western should stop a few cruelty things like rodeo..

  • WESTERN! english = ABUSE, SNABS AND JERKS!

  • @Lovetodance71 come to my barn please, that way you can see all the happy horses. the other day I was just riding my horse around the arena letting her go where she wanted to and she went right over a jump. WITHOUT me asking her to. She is one of the happiest horses I know. Your gonna have animal abuses in both dicsiplines. so get your facts right and stfu

  • @horsegal481

Ps the bit is not pulled to far back, We have to have it like that cause unlike most western bits ours are not sharp and have shanks

  • @RAPPIEMYBABY actually, you dont have to use a special bit to barrel race. i know people who use snaffles and tom thumbs, i personally prefer the tom thumb. neither are sharp, so maybe you should get your facts straight

  • Dressage, show jumping, and cross country are Olympic sports, pole bending and barrel racing are not. Not saying that they don't take skill, or that English is better, just saying. Take it any way you want.

  • @frillylilfilly

    I agree

  • @frillylilfilly heck you best shut up. barrel racing and pole bending is too cool for olympics, and the horses are a heck lot faster and more skilled than your english beasts. dressage is stupid dancing, show jumping is jumping over poles and landing in a fatal way, and cross country is practically the same thing as show jumping

  • @weedluvertou

Wow. Exibit A on how unclassy and rude Country idiots like you can be. All she did was point out a fact. Nothing more. But of course you have to take erverything offensively. You wonder why Eventing is an Olympic sport? Because it lasts more than 20 seconds. Because it takes more than just guiding a horse around a few barrels. You need to be alert every single step of the way. And Dressage isn'tjust dancing. It's a delicate art. Nothing you would understand anyway.

  • @queenluciaa I'd check what I say before I say it.

Your calling me rude, your more rude than anybody I've seen...

Barrel racing is better than eventing or dressage because it requires skill and it isnt as easy as it looks... You have to have good balance, courage, and a great horse. CHeck up on your facts, snob.

DRessage is dancing.... There's nothing about it that makes it an art, my barrel horse could do that...

  • @weedluvertou there's where you are wrong. How would you like it if someone said barrels is just running around in circles. Everything that is on a horse is as hard as hell. so get over yourselves. We are all athletes and we won't let people who don't ride tell us otherwise. Instead of fighting among ourselves why don't we fight against things like slaughter and people trying to tell us that we aren't athletes

  • @weedluvertou

Send me the video. I'd like to see your horse do more than wheel its quick legs around a barrel.

  • @queenluciaa haha, sure, maybe I will do that. I'm sure you'll change your mind when you see my arabian turn them barrels.

  • @queenluciaa dressage a delicate art what are you smoking it is just making your horse look stupid . i know what dressage horses are thinking fuck my life fuck my life mother fuck my life

  • @frillylilfilly Acually i'm pretty sure it's only show jumping and dressage... But i'll get to my point, western riding burns off less calories then english riding because in jumping and dressages and stuff you have to hold the jump pose, post, stuff like that. In turn they burn off more calories and tone your muscles better then western riding, in my opion that's why they are in the olympics. But why post that if your not saying if english is better? Your clearly bragging about it lol

  • @GothicHorse13 eventing (cross country) IS an olympic discipline

  • @frillylilfilly to make the olympics you have to have enough people watching it and the organiseations to push for it to get in. western is pretty much north american when you think about it, and I have never met a barrel racer who was intrested in having it go to the olympics.

    make sense?

  • @frillylilfilly

People like you who talk like this are the type of people who start this english vs. western bull crap. Basically trashing another style of riding, in a subtle way, then saying "Not saying it's not hard too, i was just saying."

Do you also realize, english is world wide, and western is almost completely limited to North America? And I can guarantee you 90% of barrel racers wouldn't WANT to go to the olympics. I've ridden both, and I'm not just trashing english.

  • @snowballjet english riding started in england... and took over the world. Western riding started in N-A ... and stayed there. If you think about it, you'll know why.

  • @saminiky it went around the world cause of the large english culture an influence around the world, australia, canada, etc.... please dont make this i fight, look through the past and there is the reason to your post, i prefer western but everyone has there preferences an i chose mine, you can choose yours i wont insult you for it and you shouldnt tell other people there wrong for their choice cause its "there" choice no one elses

  • @frillylilfilly Because they're considered rodeo events, that should be obvious? But reining is included now so who knows what they'll do later.

  • @frillylilfilly the only reason english riding is in the olympics is because dressage, show jumping, and cross county are international sports. rodeo sports are mostly just in canada and america. if they were world wide, they would probably be in the olympics. it does'nt mean that english is better or takes more skill.

  • SRRY WAY TO LONG TO FIT IN

  • evan come close to doing what we do in your saddles or evan out of your saddle in a english saddle there is no way you canjump or do dressage when we can pole bend and do key hole and sliding stops and barrel racing all in an english saddle ok I have done it so!!!BLAH TO YOU!!

  • because unlike a lot of you i rode western and no offence to western people it gets boring ok english is way better because we have dressage cross country jumpers hunter saddle seat pleasure hunter jumpers racing and we can do most if not all the stuff you can do in our english saddles but you guys can not

  • @RAPPIEMYBABY its probably boring cause your not skilled enough. you need to wake up and feel the wind in your face while your horse gallops around the barrel and back home.

  • Alright you people are idiots ok stop fighting over it ok we all love horses I personally like english better

  • no offence, but the person tht made the video is kinda dumb, how are you going toput " english VS western" that makes it a competition?!?, that makes people debate, and argue there style! WESTERN ALL THE WAY!!! WOOT WOOT!

  • @SpiderRules96 You maybe right but please don't get the filling if western riders switch to English we wouldn't have great balance.

  • @MsKenzie999 I'm sure that you're not doing advanced stuff yet either. Wait until you have to canter in a half seat for 90 seconds over a course of fences. That is if you get that far.

  • @SpiderRules96 i dont do begginer stuff

  • @SpiderRules96 i have ridden western all of my life and im learning english now and its supper duper easy i wasnt even sore after my first lesson wich was on an 8 yr old otttb

  • Im 100% western rider. But i wouldnt mind giving english a try. It looks pretty fun. Try riding bareback for a change. Western riding and bareback are fun. But im sure English is just as fun. For all you people who are fighting about which is better think of it this way. We are all just fighting over a peice of leather on a horse. We still share the same love and passion for horses. :) Nice video

  • western i am a barrel racer and i do not like english one bit i rode english and got hurt and do not whant to do is agan.

  • english! MY OPINION LEAVE IT ALONE! SAME GOES FOR EVERYONE ELSES OPINION!

  • None of the above are better the best is bareback! F.O.D.

  • Comment removed

  • english :D

  • Fighting is pointless. Im a barrel racer, cowgirl 100% Western but i dont diss or hate English. Want to know why? Because, no matter what you ride: Western, English, Dressage, Bareback, Barrels, Jump, Etc we all have one thing in common. We all love horses right? So why the fight? All horse riding sports are equally difficult so dont bother with "my way takes more skill" crap. Get over it. Dont hate the game. Hate the playas. We all have our own ways with horses. Just..accept it.

  • @precotadelay I agree, but admit when people insult you becasue they say barrel racing is easy dosent that get you mad? (BARREL RACING IS NOT EASY) :)
