BTW for me to get a £10000 pension as per the teacher, im on about the same money as a teacher, based on my works pension calculator based on a generous increase in the fund yoy, I would have to put in 49% of my income into my pension. I dont want others to have as bad a pension as me but I cant afford my own mediocre pensions why should I pay for someone elses very generous pension.
@andik1962 I would happily pay the amount you pay plus £100 for the £thousands less pension per year because it will be less than I pay towards a pension and will be worth way more. How could I pay £100 a month more and get £thousands less when my pension will only be worth £2000 a year
These people are against all cuts and want to bring down the government for making cuts, what do they suggest that we can just keep borrowing the huge amounts we are, its just not sustainable.
Private sector workers didnt strike about pensions because they understood that kind of pension is not sustainable.
OMG this is hilarious, the second guy says teachers pensions are £10000, I get paid in the private sector approximately the same as a teacher, my contribution pension will be worth about £2000 a year although at the moment its loosing 15% a year so that amount could go down.
How about these public sector workers pay into a fund to pay for private sectore employees pensions cause thats what they are asking me to do, pay in taxes for their 5x better pension when I cant afford my own.
people like you make me sick. im a public sector worker, and get payed a pitance as im in transport of elderly and learning disabilities. i cant aford a pension because our pay is so bad so those that try to put in to it dont need to be told put more in work longer years and get less out. we have to live when we are old so you pratts out there shut up you dont understand or you would back us. you must be geting good wages thats all i can say
my advice to the govenment would be to scrap and get rid of the public pensions and let the people save their own money up, only the british would complain about something like this, when they should say something they sit there like a stuffed parrott, to all the teachers and anyone else who comes out on strike over pensions then up yours and wake up and get a life
I nearly always fall over pissing myself with laughter when people come out on strike over pensions, if they had any fucking sense in their nuts then out of their pay wages income each month then some of that they would put away and save for the older age, i notice they can go on holidays funny enough but can't save for their older days, how fucking dumb, it dosen't take a bloody genuis to realise that everytime you save it gradually mounts up, fucking idiots
although I have sympathy for the REAL public sector, the arguement is not with the government, rather the tax payer. The public sector pensions are 'unfunded'. This means you are asking future tax payers to pick up the bill. the prosposed changes still provide a conparitively generous difined pension. I have my £100 state pension to look forward to despite paying years of eye watering taxes. So I don't get a pension outside the state and you want me to pay for yours..err.let me think about that
@maclachj1 do you realise what your saying. we are not all pen pushers on top wages i and my collegues look after the elderly and learning disabilities transporting them to different places taking care of their needs we give our hearts and souls to these people. and we get payed the same wage as a toilette cleaner. some have done this work for many years putting into their pensions in faith. we all get seriouse back shoulder and other health issues to live with wouldnt you be angry
@tinaporter1 that's why i stress the REAL public sector. I would happily pay more in taxes to pay people like yourself who do extremely important jobs and are so underpaid. My comments refer to workers who do not save lives, keep us save, teach our children or care for our elderly. Unfortunately, that leaves a lot of other people, who in my opinion do not deserve such a generous final salary pension while the private sector don't get one at all and have to finance the public sector.
The tories always do the same within a year of coming to power, create a job market, scapegoat the actual problem out. The Teachers' Pension money collected on a Friday goes out on Monday anyway, as for turning private sector workers against us because we are sponging off of them... the government stats suggested only 30% of private sector workers have a pension- but I don't mind subsidising these feckless wasters through my taxes and NI...
