Introduce the cat to water just wet them on the paw a little until they become used to it. Do not fill the bath up too high as this will make them feel unsecure. On the first time bathe them gently!
lol my cat would sit on the side while im taking a bath and (since cat are curious) she dips her paw in a bit then just yanks it out. i also like to take her tale and hold it in the water.
My cats need baths more frequently then when they go to the vet annually. I don't want to spend money on them going to the groomers, so I want to do it myself. The problem is they wont get in a bathtub. What do I do? Please help! :(
cats actully like water if it is warm. it is the way you bath them that makes it all difficult. when youbath them it also helps with you not sneezing fromyour cat. makes them to not have so many furballs. i bathe my cats regularly and they never harck up fur balls!
For those who are watching this video, only once in a while a cat would need a bath in a tub. But that is if the cat has something in their fur that they can't get out with their teeth nor tounge. Normally cats bathe themselves. Their mouths are designed for more than just eating food or drinking water. Their tounge works as a washcloth/towel. Thier front teeth are used for picking out tangles in their fur.
@Falchorn585 Well, my cat has been rolling in his own feces, and it has dried, and it has matted his fur. So, you are telling me that I should let him eat his own poop, like this is the friggin human centipede. Also, if you don't know what that is, trust me, you don't wanna know. DON"T GOOGLE IT, DONT LOOK FOR THE TRAILER.
@shanonfreek Obviously in this situation your cat is exempt from what's natural because.. well, he'll stink and I'm sure he'd prefer if you removed the crispy excretion from his fur. Even if it means getting wet. (I have seen the trailer.. I haven't even watched it and I regret the thought of the movie entering my mind.. funny analogy though :P).
@Falchorn585 TELL THE TRUTH!!! How do you know that cats don't need to be bathed. I rather have my cat smelling nice and clean. Yes, lots of cats bathe themselves. Yes they do scratch. But that is if you hold the cat in a way to where he can attack you with all of his weapons.
@Falchorn585 My cat bathes himself. Pluse, I clean his litter box. Here in the U.S., there have been some people loosing their cats and dogs to the humane society because of improper care of their animals.
my cat hates water, but one day i was in the bathtub and he wanted me to stroke him and was just sitting there miowing at me. then he decided to come and join me, so he jumped up, but as soon as he realised there was water in there he tried to back off, in mid air. he banged against the edge of the tub and landed in the water. haha. (don't worry, he didn't get hurt)
It is really not healthy for cat to wash it !! You can destroy her lipid secretion which is very important! She might start losing her hair! No wander cats don't like to bath, it is so naturally! If they need it they wouldn't have nothing against it !!
people dont wash the cats, they will lick them selves or go into bath by them selves. But some trained cats will let you to take them to bath.

I bet the cat would kill her if she tried to bathe it for real. "I'm not going to... for real" is a smart move.
