its "root". password is "admin". however, i think that you can leave the username empty..

thanks for your videos they are great for wirelless isp is the Linksys WRT54G router the best to buy?is it the best model or there other moder under the same name- how much clients can connect to this wireless router ? there a lot of linkys model much better faster and long range distance why to chose this one-there -you cant change the antenna inside its incorporated-i have done 270 km wifi connection range in the middle east with 2 satellites dish no amplifier used thanks brother

The reccomended router to use for HotSpot System is Linksys WRT54GL, any version can be used (1.0 or 1.1) but obviously the 1.1 version has slight hardware fixes from Linksys though the main difference was the firmware version which in our case does not matter because we are replacing it with DD-WRT.

Just a note, version 1.0 of the router has two rows of LED's and 1.1 has one row (less LEDs), people commonly get confused when they see two images of the same router.

The default Linksys firmware username/password is admin/admin. The username and password for DD-WRT changes to root/admin after install.
