Yeah I agree with you. My dad told me that so many horrible things happened during the Korean War. The Vietnam war was more publicized because the reporters were actually there to take photos. I think Korean War is one of the dramatic war ever. When NK army invaded, President of SK escaped but kept saying 'we are successfully defending Seoul' but it was simply bullshit. And few month later, SK army almost defeated and there's only one city left - Pusan. It was the city that placed on the most edge part of peninsula.
And then, General MacArthur, who still remembered as savior of SK to SK people, regained Seoul by Incheon landing operation. Then, with UN army, SK army went up to NK region. And when they reached close to NK-China border, China invaded and again, Seoul(Capital of SK) was lost. And about 2 years of a brush-fire war, at last, ceasefire was declared.
my brother and I are both koreans and american citizens. this movie is an example of the korean mentality concerning devotion to family. i did everything in my power to just be stationed and deployed close to my brother because i knew there would be no one to take care of him or protect him like his big brother could. he's out now, i'm so glad that he's doing better things with his life for our family.

I don't understand how you can say that the korean war wasn't a part of the cold war. On the North korean side we have comunists fighting with Soviet weapons, MIG:s and tanks, backed by China. On the other side we have South Korea backed by USA and the UN. This was just as much a part of the cold war as the Vietnam war was.

Very nice idea! Touching song for a touching film. Must have been devastating for the South Korean soldiers after China backed up the North. Maybe someday the DMZ can be used for streets and as farmland again. Germany is reunited again, why shouldn`t it be possible for Korea. Somewhen.
