  • two words to describe this video: Real and Awesome. and Gringos

  • Comment removed

  • @MetalMan2k Wow. I just now discovered this song while I was sleeping with headphones. Then I try to look for this gem of a song on youtube, only to discover that the nin fan inside of me already heard it 3 years back! Wow.

  • great video i like it

  • i wish this song would just keep repeating the acoustic guitar part

  • wow powerful stuff. thank you warnerbro's for banning cut chemists tune and replacing it with something fresh

  • great song love th vid

  • Fuck my doctor's prescirption! Great work! Full shinning 5 starts!

  • The end is near

  • fallout 3 !

  • Hmm what music is this ? if it is some half acoustic NIN song then its a one i have missed.

Anywhere i can find this song ?

  • It's from the Ghosts I-IV album (which I thought was quite amazing).

  • Good video...I freakin love NIN and their music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really like it, I think that the video is very appropriate to the music... but I think that the white and black idea is to much similar to Hurt. And I didn't liked your font selection, the grungy scratchy type font. Whatever... It is pretty. Luck!

  • I don't know if you submitted this to the Film Festival they held for Ghosts, but you should have. Would have done very well.

Also great choice of tracks. 34 is one of my favs. Gives off the same vibe as the fragile with the de-tuned instruments.

  • good vid. the only thing threw me off was your font selection at the beginning the grungy scratchy type font wasn't a very good choice this song isn't grungy and scratchy its more calm serious gentle and the vid is serious and sad. so maybe pick a serif font that has a gentle serious sad feel to it. but other than that great video.

  • the hiroshima holocaust - ever any elaboration on it as the gentile holocaust?

  • I love this song and video, overall ghosts has good atmosphere and immersion, makes you sleep/dream easy though.

  • Well done. It should be mandatory viewing for anyone that thinks reducing the nuclear arsenals worldwide is a bad idea.

  • really scary. people shouldnt foget this tragedy

some thinks that russia had been crushed hiroshima and nagosaki. What a crap

  • There is an interesting juxtapositioning of the rather calm instrumentals to the complete tragedy of this WWII Hiroshima/Nagasaki footage. I like this video because it's important for us to never ever forget what happened at Hiroshima/Nagasaki! But, Like lingojac, I thought you were supposed to do some filming that reflects your local talent, so to speak. This NIN festival is a chance to show your ability to interpret the music from 'Ghosts'. I guess you can do that many ways. Fascinating!

  • this is a really great video, but weren't you supposed to use only original content?

  • I think you can use anything that is not copyrighted, but I'm pretty sure stock war footage is... public domain? I don't know, I just liked how they complemented each other. thanks for the comment.

  • A good portion of your footage is from the film Hiroshima Mon Amour . It is protected under copyright law internationally. it was created by the filmmaker Alain Resnais. He created that footage for a propaganda documentary he was commissioned to make but the project was scrapped. SInce Resnais had all this footage he decided to use it in the Hiroshima film.

  • first of all why are you calling me a freak lol, you don't know me and you couldn't be farther from the truth... and more importantly...I'm trying real hard to understand why are you're talking about gringos?

  • Great stuff, kinda reminds me of the stuff in the Hurt video.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH

And the pictures really go with it...

  • this is creepy..i always had these pictures in my mind every time i was listening to aphex twin's "at the heart of it all" from "further down the spiral..i always thought that this is what lies there in the heart of humanity..darkness...paranoia and the atom bomb.....the horror

  • AT LAST!!! A video that is WELL DONE!!!!

Brilliant juxtaposition -- no... MARRIAGE -- to Trent Reznor/NIN's unparalleled evocative music!

  • People are crazy. Can't we all just get along. I want one of those mini tanks to protect my household. Run for your lives! A storm of death is coming...

  • very nicely done

  • for me you should try to sync shots changes with music, basically try to sync pitures with music. i think it could make it better

  • cold....dark....despair....yep NIN

  • Of all the Ghosts videos I've watched that utilize archival footage, this one's got to be the best. The music fits creepily well...and some of the footage you chose made me cringe. Nice work!

  • the video its really cool, see hirshima and nagasaki after the bomb the people, see how to feel the people its fantastic (not fantastic the people on this conditions)the consecuens of the bomb, the reality, its very very nice, exelent!!!

  • good work krptx!! when I heard this song for the first time, the first thing I thought about was things about the asian culture!!! :)

  • me too... I thought it had a very strong asian vibe too it. Out of all the tracks on Ghosts this is my favorite. Thank you for the comment.

  • i mean its obvious that people are critical, when others waste with trents songs.

i think self recorded material has more depth

  • I like this one quite a bit. And to everyone who criticizes alot of these videos, this is all supposed to be a big art project, and if you dont appreciate someone elses art then dont bother criticizing them.

  • seriously, most of these film festival entries are too much alike...someone with something completely different yet relevant will win, not all of this same stuff footage...

  • and what do you mean by win? This is a not a contest if you have not heard... There are no winners or losers, just people expressing themselves.

  • I'm sick of people acting like this is their big break or Trent's going to sign them... all you people need to stop acting like your shit don't stink and actually upload a video!

  • do not credit these stock films....that took you how long ??a day

  • show me yours and then let's talk, OK.

  • hehehehh!!! great come back!!! that very true to what you said!!

  • Cutting stock footage to a song doesn't take a lot of work or creativity, but still this was cool and looked good.

  • It didn't but I had a vision that this would be a great thing and to me it twas... thats all that matters, right?

  • I love it !

  • Hiroshima - Nagasaki

  • i like it

  • i like this one. its the best one ive seen so far. the song goes good with the video too.

    :]

  • I like it... Why? Because those who forget the past are destine to repeat it. This is just a reminder of what could be in the future.... anywhere in the world. Good Job!

  • sorry i'm all stock footaged out...i don't like it....sorry...

  • good work buddy..

  • Good Job!

What's with all the Negative Nancies for the film festival? Everyone getting/giving a 3 star, that's sad, I give it 5 star :)

A good choice for the song too, this is a good track & haven't seem many other submissions for it.

The visuals are powerful, compliments the song well. How much video editing did you do? did you leave any scenes fully intact?

  • the images are pretty goood. Could see this playing on a big screen while nin is performing, just like "right where it belongs"

  • Why was I never shown this footage? I mean, the bombings are no secret but why is this hid under a rock? I guess the U.S. wants to pretend it didn't happen.

  • This video was very profound. Perfect accompaniment to the music. It impresses the feeling of healing. Shots of survivors carting away the dead. Good idea.

  • Hey man. The footage you used did go pretty well with the song selected, but I would have liked it much more with user created footage. Have any other entrys?

  • Oh, this is just too sad. Very well done.

  • man! love your concept of the video..the song did match on the video!awseome! I gave you the highest rating and added you as my favorite..geesh..your a simple genius..lol..keep it up..hope you could make it..

  • Despite the imagery this sound reminded me of those first few minutes before you fall asleep. Allow me to explain. You're laying down and silently complaining to yourself about the fact that you have been trying to fall asleep for the last half hour. When your thoughts finally blur and the unconsciousness you've benn searching for teases you it's almost instinctual how we snap awake and all too alert. Mere minutes later we're fast asleep. This sound reminds me of those sensations.

  • Very emotional, the footage was very cohesive mostly and the song choice was great. Like others said, it does have a very strong "Hurt" vibe, but it's different enough to be really interesting. Awesome!

  • great song, moving but grim

  • Is there a time limit for submissions? Someone send me a message let me know thanks.

  • It has an "Hurt" vibe.

  • Nice comment! That's the same thing I felt at first, although the feeling is a little more centralized to one event.

  • I really think the look of the film adds to the overwhelming feeling of despair... at least for me.

  • Very Nice I totally agree with the asian Feel too it I thought of the same asian type of visualazation but different Kudo's too yours though!!!

  • would like to see a higher res version of this one.

  • It can't be higher res because the video was, idk... made about 50 million years ago. They didn't have high tech film back then.

Nice job on the video. =)

  • Thanks rarefy77.. You couldn't have said it better.

  • good job

  • depressing and powerful.
