Instead we are getting a Can-Am League team called the Ottawa Rapids. They will play in the same stadium as the old Lynx but will have a shorter season. It's not triple A but it is still baseball and the way things have been going the last few years we are lucky to have them.
Indeed it is a very sad moment, but I wonder if the City of Ottawa will ever have another minor league team, regardless if it is another major affiliate or expand in another independent baseball league?
There is currently a move afoot to bring in a "Can-Am" team to Ottawa which would be independent of the Major Leagues and roughly equivalent in quality to "AA", but this hinges on their ability to sublet the baseball stadium and so far the city is not cooperating very much as their position is that the Lynx have not officially stated that they are leaving yet so the "status quo" must prevail. Keep a good thought.
However, I thought that the deal was closed in 2006 when the coke-ca-cola corporation purchase that team, but they did not have the intentions of moving the team until 2008.
In addition, the philosophy was that the stadium in 2007 is still being constructed and would be fully completed by 2008. Currently, the new stadium in Allentown, Pennsylvania is already built and there are already hosting tryouts for the 2008 campaign. Nevertheless, can you please acknowledge the source or the information relating to this issue. Thank you!!
There's talk about the Fisher Cats relocating to Ottawa in 2013.

Its too bad because Ottawa deserves a Pro Baseball team and maybe its time for Canada to have they're own Baseball League.

No more baseball in Ottawa. :(
It was fun to go out and get cheap tickets right before the game just to get outside a little.

Brooklyn Dodgers? No wonder you're bitter. You should really follow them to LA and chill out.

This was one of the strangest and saddest things I've ever seen. I was basically directly across from the photographer, behind the home dugout.
