jimjoker92 @ yahoo . com is a scammer lol he wanted me to send him a computer to Nigeria cause he is on a vacation xD so i was playing along and he gave me his address and name
Someone is doing this same thing to me right now. Feel violated. Glad I'm smart enough to check everything out before I went ahead with transaction. Wish I could meet the guy and kick him where it counts.
for months I've been exchanging email and chat on skype InVideo calls between a promise and asked for small sums and other objects, some worries for a bit to much in the meantime I'm working with him mademe go through a Journal uses all very true even in uniform, but has attempted to purchase items on a site where I was accuant but with his credit card (or its stolen I say now) and if 'stolen I risk being accused on Monday I have to report it,adding insult to injury
@hanseykemmerer because eventually the bank figures out it is fraudulent and can freeze your account until you pay it back .... sometimes the account the scammers put on the check is closed and/or usually doesnt even have the money in it to begin with
you cash it out and *if the scam succeeds*, send some of that money to the scammer. Eventually, the bank realizes the check has bounced and they will demand you pay them back the money they gave you, but now the scammer has some of that money.
I was almost scammed but had sense to see it was a scam. they sent me a check and continue to email me harrassing me to go cash it but i never did and would never cash a check from someone i do not know. All the signs were there though loll...i hate scammers.
Yep I just had a Scammer on my line wanting a cleaning job done.Said he lives in florida and wanted a job done near my place. But would Not! give me his number or his adress.
I love Craigslist, but hate the damn email SCAMMERS!!! This is a great place to sell local , but beware of those P.O.S. SCAMMERS!!! Do not respond or click on any links they send, their out to steel your account information and attempt to con folks out of their money! Do not be fooled, use common sense. Hell awaits these assholes!
wee obama wants to put a computer in every home to do this shit ...... F small bizz drop the sell price or i an't buying keep china the way it is if they match are prices you'll pay more in the store .... build more prisions not schools punish the bad not reward .
I almost got scammed too! I'm just glad the bank caught it when I went to cash the check! I wanna find these scammers...And fuck they mom, dad, grandma, they dog...If they have a goat imma fuck it too!!! Bitches!!!
this is sooo true and i think that pple never think its gonna heppen to you!!! but it can!! its sick that pple can sleep fine at night noeing that they are ruining pple life!!
i almost got scamed selling my xbox for 400 i got a chick that looked like this for 4,000 they told me to send some money back i gave the check to the bank they gave it to the secret service and i emailed the person to fuck off and to stop tryin to scam
It's isn't difficult to protect yourself. First rule, don't accept checks unless you have a respected payment gateway like AuthorizeNet. People shouldn't really use checks to start with. In the 1970s they were useful, but these days they should only be used as a backup when you lose your credit card at walmart. If people are serious about buying something they will have no problem using a credit card or giving you cash in person. If they have anything to do with western union they are scammers
I love how the IDIOT doing the news reporting knows NOTHING about Craigslist!
Click 1:01 to see the reporter create a tight shot of himself typing the words CRAIGS LIST into a search engine!! HAHAHAHA! 2 words.
Yeah, youre a pro, you know all about CL, and we should listen to you. Perhaps YOU the idots doing the reporting could be fooled but most of us could never be ripped by the played out scams on CL.
@2ruClub4reestylFan lol me too same but lucky met real ot like them no way diffrent better wacth it out carefull me too many time lucky safe right one stuff for ya :) but i heard that stuff it was bad i know it alreday stuff too too many thing i not fuck it dumb i knew it have to face on it you know i mean??
I keep getting fake checks, it gets old, the experation date is near or already passed, the fake check is in excess of what is actually due, the checks NEVER clear & the sender gets mad... I keep telling the fake check senders, "all you have to do is send a REAL check", which never happens, but the thing is, I've never seen any of these people caught
I always like to scare the shit out of them. One time I had this idiot send out about 4 checks to obvious fake addresses like '123 suckacock street', and the 4th address was the FBI office in my state.
Some scam busters will get the scammers to send email them a Fed Ex account number for sending them the money. The they send them a heavy package, like a brick. The scammer ends up getting punked!
I would NEVER be scammed. It only happens to me who have no fucking clue about how to conduct a proper transaction. Anytime, and i mean ANYTIME someone wants to buy something from me on Craiglist there's a phone call that follows where we talk and discuss business.
One time, I was trying to sell expensive (and authentic) purses online and this "woman" had the wierdest e-mail title and signature - it was like Christina Evangelist or some bullshit. When she had sent me her $3,000 fake cheque, she would tell me shit like "forever bless you abundantly." And to think that she thought she had me from the first e-mail... when the entire time, I was watching her like a fucking wolf. Lol.
how do the scams look? when they send u an email because im selling my xbox 360 for $350 and he said he's give me 500USD in a check and that he would send me a tracking number. But i had to give him the 360 the same day i cashed the check. does this sound like a scam?
They're playing you. They often send more money then they're supposed to, then claim that it was a mistake and ask for the difference back (in your case, $150). The cheque you or the bank received was likely a fake but banks usually takes 3 - 5 business days to authenticate cheques - by then, they will have asked you to send him his money and his item.
Lesson: its not that you shouldn't sell items online but you should sell them to locals only.
lol, I was trying to sell some games on craigslist, dude sent me a check for over $700.00 the asking price was $75.00 he said it was a mistake, and to cash the check deduct an extra 100.00 for my time and send him back the difference via western union. lol I can't believe people actually fall for this bullsh1t. I didn't fall for it though.
I just got a check from someone today that I was selling a digital camera and it took about a month after this person emailed me saying that he was going to send me a check, before the check got here I ended up selling it to the pawn shop,I called the bank that it was issued from and it was way more then I asked for and the bank told me it was a fake
i was trying to sell my PSP on craigslist i asked only a certain amount and then the guy replies and offers way much more than what i asked and then he said that craiglist new rules are you ship the item first then i pay through paypal then we said no and then he said he paid through pay pal he tried making his own fake paypal website saying that he paid me and then it turned out he was a scammer from nigeria
@mcr1245 yh ive been trough a lot of scams too, but i didnt fall for them, even on eniro kop och salj (swedish site) there was someone from NIGERIA!!!!
Craigslist is problematic because there is no way for people to see the legitimacy of people's services. We see that people have Ph.D. and stuffs for education, but do we know for SURE? No, we don't!
For real and authentic information for tutoring, consult me on my message board to ask questions. The link is in my profile.
Lol How the fuck do you end up on the fucking news for not falling victim to one of those very common fake check scamms?Jesus CHRIST! I should have been on the news 50 thousand times thats how long iv been knowing and using craigslist, and those check scamms are the only e-mails you get when you post something on craigslist..FUCK CRAIGSLIST, Use EBAY..
On thing to keep in mind that their prices are not reasonable because one time I was looking to buy 2005 Nissan Altima and they listed for $3800 and other seller listed over $8000. At first I thought it was good deal and emailed the seller then he/she refused to meet me and asked me to do transaction on eBay so it can protect me or something. That right there told me it is a big SCAM. So be carful if the seller refused to meet your or provide their number that could be a sign of scam.
The scam thing is a sick joke and the more I use craigslist I think it is a big joke to. Come on pepole don"t be stupid. Some times I go to the labor gigs and I can"t belive some of the posts there they what you to work for free. Big screen tv 36 in haul away for 25$ one of the old ones ha ha what a damm joke. don"t fall for the scams and don"t go out and work for free.
pretty stupid...if someones supposed to move in and they want you to send a cheque for rent? tell them you'll give it to em when they get there or something, stupid to just send someone you dont know money lol
they sent me a fake check for $9000 instead of $4500 dollars. they asked for 4500 back so i sent them a fake check for $45,000 dollars and told them to fuck off.
