  • How the mighty had fallen, with the Colts having grown old with an idiot owner meddling with the coaching. Can still recall the Colts going to Orchard Park in 1973, leading the Bills 17-10 in second half, but giving up two TD's quickly , including an INT return for a score. Our living room TV was a rotary antenna, so we got Bills games in Toronto. Reception was fuzzy, but clear enough for an eight year old to sense the Colts greatness had passed, 1972 was not a fluke.

  • wow when this game was played i was 5 yrs old good work joneseracolts

  • Maybe the 2 worst teams in the AFC East in 1973.

  • Maybe??!! These two and the Jets made the Juice (Watered down juice) and the Dolphins (the worst team ever to win a Super bowl) look so great for that whole era. What a shame.

  • @plntntvzn Worst team ever to win a Super Bowl?

  • Listening to Pat Summeral makes this whole worth it.

  • @FrsBigeasy Pat is so much better than today's guys. I always loved it when Pat would say simply "Starr, Dowling, touchdown". None of the endless blather like you get from Al and Chris on Sunday night games.

  • I Guess were both Graduates of the Old School when it comes to the NFL.

  • Yep! I love the old days with Johnny U, Roger Staubach, The Fearsome Foursome et al. My you tube name is from Fred Bilitinikoff but I spelled it wrong.

  • I Love the Football Back then even though I wasn't born until Late 1975 but I got to see a lot of it NFL Films & on DVD & read about. I do Agree with the Blocking Rule Changes of 1978 Allowing OL to Extend their Arms when Blocking but the Illegal Contact Rule not Allowing Contact after 5 YDS is 1 of the Worst Rules of All Time. They should just let WR & CB Play & as long as their not Tripping, Pushing, Kicking, Punching or Hugging then they should just be Allowed to Play.

  • My favorite NFL video of all time that I found on youtube is from 1965 Bears 49ers game in Wrigly Field when Gale Sayers get 6 TDs. That guy with the great voice narrates. It's classic,

  • Yup that was Sayers Rookie Season.

  • @belitnakoff Perfect. i think two of the most memorable plays (touchdowns) come to mind when listening to Summerall announcing. The 1980 Thanksgiving TD in overtime, I'm sure you know what play I am talking about, Summerall says, "Williams breaks out of the pack". Another was 6 years later, in the playoffs, 49ers at Giants. On a 50-yard score, or so, by Joe Morris, Summerall announced (as Morris had barely broken the line of scrimmage) "Morris is gone".

  • @plntntvzn I loved Summeral's simple and concise use of language: "Starr, Dowling, touchdown!". Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth just talk nonstop about the obvious. Al Michaels says "And another thing..." about 15 times a game and a long story is ahead.

  • @belitnakoff Almost perfect. It is my civil duty to make sure that every truly great player in NFL history NOT in the hall of fame, gets their due. part of that is making sure their names are spelled and pronounced correctly. During the 1960s, Packer WR Boyd DOWLER #86 was a great one.

  • @plntntvzn My bad. I watched the NFL Channel show recently that the NFL Films show about the first SuperBowl. Much more low key back then and much better. Just football. No endless concert, pregame nonsense. Sad that Max McGee died from going on his roof and trying to get leaves off when the roof was wet and the leaves were wet and heavy. Also sad that Ray Nichke (oops spelling again) died while pumping gas a few years ago.

  • It has been a long time since these highlights have seen TV. Now, ESPN Classic shows garbage like old poker games, American Gladiators (YUCK), & bowling. .

  • Don't forget classic AWA Wrestling!! LOL

  • And I will add "X Games Classix". And nothing like the mid-80's wrestling of the AWA.

  • This was the last Colts home game my father attended before giving up his season tickets he had had for almost 20 years.

  • yea but was he the type of hall of fame player like unitas?

  • Plunkett payed his dues. Domres throws like Unitas.

  • Great stuff. I love these old highlights and This Week In Pro Football episodes.
