@Future747Pilot 190 horsepower isn't that nice lol, but it has the same engine as the Scion TC so I'm sure you can put after market products in it if the engine bay is big enough..
This is what the MRS (MR2) should have been.. But well i guess its technically the ONLY Toyota left that is a sports car.. the Motor 2zzge i hope they beefed it up.. If not yeah a decent motor, their are issues with the Rods in the 2zz's.. Not a cheap fix.. Love this car though.. just wish i lived in an area it would make sense to have one..
@HurleyIntl05 And I'm gonna buy a viper srt10 in about 4-5 years and you'll see me on the road and you'll be like "oh shit I should've spent my 60 grand on a viper instead of my piece of crap exige!"
@ltkrool and then suddenly a tight corner appears and the viper slides straight off the road, the exige on the other hand makes it easily, than we'll see who laughs ;)
The only bad thing about this car is that it's so tiny, and well for taller people... thats not very comfy :( but its still a hella sick car and i cant wait till i have the money to buy one!!
sporty, fun to drive, maneuverable, easy to maintain (thanks to toyota bits), easy on gas (thanks to toyota engine), moderately priced. what could be better?
love the exige. one of the best handling cars in the world, not only because its size & lack of weight, but cuz it also has a proper proportionate wheelbase.
Now all extiges have supercharged engines, i don't believe the one in this video does, but I find it hilarious how low quality a higher priced car dealership would film an advertisement
I am thinking of buying one of these if I move to the West Coast. I don't know if this would be a daily driver, it seems like more of a track toy or weekend car.
As others have said, cheaper to buy second hand. You have to remember however that because Lotus don't sell a lot of cars in comparison to other manufacturers, they have to charge higher prices than they otherwise would. Also, you're getting British prices, which are always excessive!
Why? Because aside from a great chassis and suspension you don't get much in this car. Engine is from Toyota and the interior, well for the most part there isn't any.
I'd rather put 60k as a down payment for a GT-R or a Porsche Carrera S. I'd even go as far as saying I'd rather get an M3 over this.
That's fine, but the GT-R, Porsche, and M3 are different tastes than the Exige. Exige is a pure handling car, MEANT to be minimalist. Not so with the others.
Exactly! So why is it 60k??!?!(actually its even more than that) If you read above, that's my argument. You just don't get that much when buying that car. Hell, it's not like the entire body is used of carbon fiber either. I'd understand if it was roughly 35-45k.
@c0nv1ct1337 But this car is different. It only uses water based paint, which is environment friendly and the car parts are assembled manually, like aston martin. And also lotus only makes 3000 cars a year, which is less than ferrari. So you end up with an fast, economic, awesome looking, almost environment friendly, exclusive car
@c0nv1ct1337 those cars do have more to them, but then again you'll need more money in the long run to maintain them aside from the flat price you paid for em. ever try working on an engine in one of those? no, you gotta take em to a spendy mechanic who specializes in em & pay a fortune. this lotus has toyota guts, and as we all know toyotas are some of the easiest cars to maintain, not to mention super reliable.
I actually have several views on your comment that go back and forth.
You can't argue Toyota is reliable as their recall numbers have been off the charts this year. But then, none of them were due to the powertrain which is known to be pretty durable and reliable. And of course we know, only the engines are used by Lotus but again (third viewpoint) I've heard Lotus has pretty terrible reliability.
At this point, it's hard to say what I think about this...
@c0nv1ct1337 if you're talking about the sticking gas pedal scare, that was just cuz of the electronic pedal design that they're using nowadays. thats all and they of course didnt put that in the lotus. the only real problem with the lotus beforehand was the engine (taken care of) and the lack of luxury (it's a tiny car, whaddaya expect). thats all that it really was.
Guys...You all need to know that although the hp of lotus car is low...BUT, lotus car is lightweight ! Very important to tell you that a lightweight car although have low hp, they run fast!! Faster than you can imagine..Especially that donkeykong...
lol donkeykong you fuckin jealous asshole, almost every lotus video you write comments about the car's performance. you dumb fuck its a track car not rice mobile, or a top end car. lol its ok you wish you had a lotus. stick to your rice mobile or whatever pos shit you have
A little comment:Vvt'L'i. Very nicely done. I own the Corolla with the same engine. It is nice to see it works in a light weight like the exige. Thx for posting
cooldude...i want to get one, but ust alittle unsure of daily use. In this case, since i live in NY, we have potholes, destroyed pavement, ripped up roads and other unfriendly driving conditions...the last thing i want to happen is hit a pothole and destroy the whole suspension which could happen on these cars...maybe good as a second car?
Excellent car, can be done as a daily driver but you have to have determination. All too often I have walked in to Lotus dealers and seen Exige's and Elise's with 6K miles and 3 owners because people didn't know what they were getting into...
im looking to buy one, but just wondering if this can be used as a daily driver? i live in NYC and we have seasons, obiviously when it snows, it snows pretty bad but nothing overwhelming...need help please!!!
im gonna buy one of those in about 4-5 years. ughhh i wanna have one so bad it will be soo much fun to drive and make everyone jealous that they have piece of shit ricers
omg 30mpg! god, if i had that car id drive it everywhere and not have to worry about filling it up every 30ft like other sports cars!! i know what i want for my b-day now.
