なるほど、米国での旅客鉄道の「存在感」からして、「地下鉄」「­在来線」「特急」「高速鉄道」の様な区分けする必要性が無いので­すね。

そういえば、米国で発行されている地図では、鉄道線路はすごく「­小さく／薄く／判り難く」記載されているらしいですね。道路に比­して鉄道を利用する人間が少ないからなんでしょうねぇ。
